Let's Compare Christian Braun's 2025 Season to Peyton Watson's 2026 Season
A lot of people seem to forget why Christian was paid and Watson wasn't. Even in Watson's best season, he wasn't as good as CB's contract year.

Valančiūnas and Zeke Nnaji are the Nuggets' only veteran names of late circulating as certain trade candidates. For all the expectation this spring that Denver was determined to shed salary to make it easier to match offers on restricted free agent swingman Peyton Watson, this is not a team that has been operating in recent days with a determination to stay below the second apron like James Dolan's Knicks.
Watson, meanwhile, is said to be seeking a deal north of the $25 million in average annual value that Christian Braun secured from Denver in October. How feasible that is in this marketplace remains to be seen.
Most notably in Denver ...
We're told that the Nuggets have rebuffed several trade offers from teams attempting to pry away Cam Johnson.
Some rival teams projected the Nuggets to prioritize trying to trade Braun in the wake of a first-round exit, but the timing was clearly suboptimal given Braun's injuries last season and the fact that his five-year deal is only just beginning in 2026-27.
I was randomly thinking about the Nuggets uniforms and wondered why the hell we've never had actual gold in our color scheme. So I asked ChatGPT what they'd look like. I think these are pretty clean.
Just in: Minnesota is sending Julius Randle and the No. 28 pick in the NBA Draft to the Brooklyn Nets in a three-team trade that sends Nic Claxton to the Chicago Bulls, sources tell ESPN. The Timberwolves will acquire Brooklyn’s No. 33 pick for Randle and No. 28.

Charlotte presented an offer involving draft compensation, Miles Bridges (before he was traded to Phoenix), and Naz Reid, sources said. This package was shot down by the Celtics, who wanted Brandon Miller and more than three first-round picks, and so the Hornets moved on to other avenues — shooting down offers for Reid from other teams and trading Bridges to the Suns. The inclusion of Reid in the Hornets' offer was also reported by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Denver was a team sources say Brown did hold a level of interest in going to, but the Nuggets' preliminary talks were solely focused on Aaron Gordon and Cam Johnson. Trading Jamal Murray was not on the table for the Nuggets, and with Denver holding zero tradeable draft capital, the Celtics looked elsewhere.
The 76ers emerged as a team with interest in Brown, and with talks around the league continuing to crumble, Stevens and the Celtics acted fast to not lose interest from Philadelphia. Initially, Boston wanted VJ Edgecombe, which was first reported by ESPN. Philadelphia and new executive Mike Gansey made it clear that they would not part ways with anything more than draft picks and Paul George.
The Rockets were one of the many teams the Celtics reached out to regarding a potential Brown trade in search of future draft picks and a young star, sources said. Although talks between the two teams never matured into a formal offer being made, the Rockets were a team Brown had interest in joining.
One of the major reasons why the Celtics were interested in doing business with Houston was due to Alperen Sengun being described as a player Boston would've moved Brown for “in a heartbeat,”
Based on what we've seen so far, I think Ben & Wallace have done a solid job. I know they haven't made any blockbuster moves or pulled off any fleece trades like Presti or Stevens. But we also have to remember the situation we're in—it's the result of the mess Booth left behind. We're still paying off the previous regime's mistakes.
Have a safe and fun 4th👍🏼
