What do y’all do about food strikes?

What do y’all do about food strikes?

This is my shepherd mix baby that I am obsessed with. She’s now 13 months old and just the best, I love who she’s growing into.

That being said, this girl has been frustrating at meal times lately. She’s just not that into her kibble. I’ve done some freeze dried salmon on top to peak her interest, but she’s just not that into it. She’ll still eat eventually and she’s heathy, but I’d like to give her something she likes.

I’m trying to do all the right things and it would be SO much easier if I felt good about feeding her grain free. We need gluten free food (celiac in the house) and she has a suspected chicken sensitivity. Finding gluten free and chicken free is like impossible.

She’s currently on Purina pro plan sport 30/20 beef.

Any advice would be so appreciated. She’s so loved.

My favorite GF flour tortillas

Got this recipe a while ago from myheartbeets dot com and I use it for tons of stuff. The ratio is one cup coconut milk to a half cup of tapioca flour and a half cup almond flour. I have a blackstone, so I cook it on that to get larger tortillas.

It’s really versatile too: I used it today for hummus and chicken wraps. In the past I’ve used it for sweet crepes. Anyway, thought I’d share because it really is rather magical.

No chicken, no gluten, picky pupper, what to do?

I have two dogs: a 6 year old golden and an about to be 1 year old shepherd mix. Lately, the shepherd mix just isn't interested in her kibble. She's still very interested in treats, and will eat it if she's hungry enough, but she's kinda whatever about it.

The issue is, we're pretty sure she has chicken allergies and we have celiac in the family so we need gluten free if possible. She's been on PPP sensitive skin and stomach puppy (for now) which is not gluten free until we can transition her to PPP Sport 30/20 (which is "gluten free" it at least doesn't have wheat, barley or rye in it) which my golden is on. But PPP is pretty much the same in terms of everything else and she's just not into it. I tried switching her back to the PPP Sport puppy with chicken in it, but she was just more itchy and still not that stoked about mealtime.

I've tried adding some toppers, and she likes the toppers, just not the kibble. I'm wondering if there's a food I'm missing, or if we just go with it and she'll get hungry enough to deal. I really do believe the PPP Sport is the best food for her and for us long term, but I'm very open to suggestions! The great thing about PPP Sport is it still has grains, just not gluten.

I don't think us 7s maybe think about our 1 go to enough

I've been doing some work on recognizing my feelings and being honest about the root of them.

While my motivation is a billion percent pain and discomfort avoidance, I've only recently come to see clearly that the root of much of my anxiety is fear of pain because I made the wrong choice or got it wrong. Doing something "wrong" personally feels like death when I dig down. Which is a very 1 thing. And since I go to 1 in stress, and the thought of really feeling the feelings stresses me out, it all makes a lot of sense.

Not sure where to go with that info, but hopefully the recognition will help. And I would LOVE to hear from healthy 1s how they have found ways to deal with that fear.

Hi y'all! I've been using the methodology in Taking Charge of Your Fertility successfully for the last 17 years to not get pregnant. I will say, I believe my husband and I aren't very fertile, for we've done a good job with the methodology but haven't been perfect and no pregnancies.

I'm definitely entering or am in perimenopause (I'll be 44 this year). My cycles are getting a bit shorter, but I'm still ovulating and able to use my temp shifts to follow the methodology.

BUT I am now starting to freak out. Because I know at some point things are going to get even wonkier and it's going to get harder for me to fully know what's going on with my fertility. We very much do not want to get pregnant and I do not want to abort (I also live in a state where that is increasingly difficult to do even if caught very early).

I'm wondering about other's experiences? Do I push my husband to get a vasectomy? Do we just keep using the TCOYF method as I'm pretty good about paying attention to my body at this point? I feel silly for not thinking this more through before, but here we are. Thanks in advance!

Where I used to live (Fort Collins) had a spot with an amazing tempeh burger.

Got me wondering if there's one to be found in KC? I see a lot of impossible burgers, but I'm looking for tempeh or maybe black bean. Any places to recommend?
