Family movie night bot?

Any thoughts on a minimal LLM middleware for a bit that curates family movie watching lists? Think it would be a neat think and not too too wild.

Bro what did I actually create.....

I was just casually playing with my chatbot and WHY did the voice messages make this 10x worse 💀

I sat there staring at my screen like...

"What in the world did I just create..."

Is this Discord “invite bot” behavior realistic?

I’m trying to understand whether a claimed Discord bot/account-compromise explanation is technically plausible.

Scenario:

A Discord user’s account sent unsolicited DMs to multiple members of one specific server (let's call it "A"), inviting them to another specific server (let's call it "B").

The odd parts are:

  • The invites appeared to go only to members of one shared server, A.
  • The invite was only for one specific destination server, B.
  • Some recipients were not friends with the sender and had apparently never spoken to them before.
  • At least one person who is friends with the sender did not receive an invite.
  • The sender is in other servers too, but as far as we know, people from those other servers did not receive similar invites to B.
  • The “it was a bot” explanation only came up after people called attention to the DMs.

I know Discord account compromises, malicious authorized apps, selfbots, and DM invite spam happen. However, in my experience, those kinds of scams tend to be more indiscriminate. The goal is usually to compromise or bait as many accounts as possible so those accounts can be used to spread the scam further, like the common fake Mr. Beast/Nitro-style scams.

This situation seems different because the destination server, B, is very small, around 200 members, and the outreach seemed narrowly aimed at members of another specific small server, A. There is also prior tension between the two servers, which is why the pattern feels less random to the people involved.

What I’m trying to understand is whether this specific pattern sounds like normal hacked-account/bot behavior, or whether it sounds more like selective manual outreach.

If this were caused by a malicious authorized app, compromised account, selfbot, or invite-spam bot, what evidence would usually exist? For example, would it normally DM friends first, recent DMs, random mutual-server members, everyone in a server, or only people from one selected server?

Also, are there any known bots, scams, authorized-app exploits, or account-compromise patterns that would behave this way specifically: sending one particular server invite only to selected members of one other server?

If so, how exactly would that work? For example, would the mods/admins of Server B be able to set something up so that accounts belonging to Server B members could automatically DM people they are connected to and recruit them to Server B? Would that require the account owner to opt in, authorize an app, add a bot, scan a QR code, or have their token/session compromised?

Sorry if these are basic questions — I’m just trying to understand the mechanics. I’d really like to believe that the person who sent the invites was compromised by a bot like they claim, but I’ve never heard of a bot/scam pattern that works this selectively before.

Thanks in advance for your time and insight.

Hi everyone, I need someone to explain me more about Privileged Intents

So this morning, I woke up to a mail from discord that my request for privileged intents has been rejected . " This is because your app’s described use case can be achieved without the Message Content Intent."

My entire bot is based on prefix commands and all servers it is in are used to those . I don't know how to respond to it . It has over 100 commands and it will be so hectic to shift everything to slash commands . Can anyone help me with it?

My Server's Moderation Bot

Hello! I'm fairly new to coding and am making a moderation bot for my server where the staff can write things and get the actions like follows:

.mute [@USER] [TIME] [REASON] Optional: [EVIDENCE AS ATTACHED FILE]

It'll then go onto a user card that displays someones cases. It shows the case number, the reason, a hyperlink for the evidence, the time length, and the moderator who took action.

I can't figure out how to do this in my code, and am not willing to ask AI as I quit using it recently.

Here's my current code.

Thank you to anyone who reads this and/or replies.

Important Edit:
Thank you to everyone who informed me of the token key. I had fixed it in time so the only thing to happen is my channels being deleted. I have reset the key multiple times and even kicked it from my server. I may also delete the bot and start over.

And to the person who took advantage of my stupidity. I am disappointed in you. You took a server of an unsuspecting person and wiped it. That server took me two months to get where it was and it still was a work in progress. That was incredibly horrible of you and you should be ashamed. I don’t know what made your day so horrible you had to do this to me. I hope your day gets better.

This is only a small bump in the road and I will be able to bounce back, but it was incredibly messed up to take advantage of this situation. I again thank everyone who had informed me. You all saved my server from total deletion.

Automatic Custom Trivia Discord Bot

Are there Trivia/Quiz bots that have:

  • Automatic posting (even if the scheduling is limited)
  • Custom Questions I can add only for my server?

Or at least something similar? Right now I have Trivia Planet and went through all the work of setting it up only to find out I can't schedule the trivia.

No I don't want to pay for anything or commission anyone

Edit: u/MrLurifix 's bot does exactly the above (like way better than I would've hoped for) and a bunch of other stuff too. Thank you to him!

Edit2: Dude's a quick responder to suggestions + questions, and the outside of the automatic scheduling this is def the best trivia bot I've seen so far, I fully recommend it!

Appy banning systems?

The reason I’m not going directly to appy for this is because I’m worried about being targeted so hopefully it’s okay to stay here
I’m just wondering if anyone in the community might have more information or understanding on if this is real or what’s actually happening, I’ll be figuring out a different verification method in advance but I’m very confused

Feedback

What’s one thing you’ve always wished Discord reactions could do that they currently can’t?

Whether it’s moderation, community engagement, analytics, games, automation, or something completely different—I’d love to hear ideas.

I feel like reactions are one of Discord’s most-used features, yet there aren’t many tools built specifically around them.

Thanks!

Kick Discord Rich Presence - A lightweight Discord RPC for Kick.com bypassing Cloudflare

Hello everyone,

I am sharing an open-source project I built. Since Kick.com lacks official Discord integration, streamers cannot display the purple "Streaming" status on their Discord profiles. I developed a Python solution to resolve this.

What My Project Does

Kick Discord Rich Presence automatically fetches a specific Kick channel's live status and syncs it with a user's Discord profile via the Discord Gateway websocket.

The main technical challenge was Kick's strict Cloudflare bot protection. Standard requests or aiohttp calls return a 403 Forbidden. To solve this, the project utilizes the curl-cffi library to impersonate modern browser TLS fingerprints. This seamlessly bypasses the anti-bot measures to fetch live viewer counts, stream titles, and categories dynamically. It then constructs the proper payload and sends it to Discord's Gateway (OP 3) to update the Rich Presence.

Target Audience

This is a production-ready tool aimed at two groups:

  1. Developers who are building scrapers for Cloudflare-protected sites and want to see a working implementation of curl-cffi and Discord Gateway Websockets in pure Python.
  2. Streamers who want a reliable tool to show their live status on Discord without installing heavy third-party software.

Comparison

Differences from existing alternatives:

  • Cloudflare Bypass: Many existing Kick RPC scripts on GitHub are currently broken because they rely on basic HTTP requests which Kick has blocked. This script works flawlessly thanks to TLS impersonation.
  • Extremely Lightweight: Existing solutions often use heavy Node.js/Electron wrappers or bloated browser automation (like Selenium/Playwright) just to bypass Cloudflare. This project is pure Python, uses minimal RAM, and runs silently in the background.
  • Standalone: It is compiled using PyInstaller into a single executable, meaning end-users do not need to install Python or set up virtual environments to run it.

The code is fully open-source under the MIT License. I wrote it adhering to SOLID and KISS principles to keep it as readable and maintainable as possible.

You can review the source code and download the release here: 🔗 GitHub: https://github.com/berkyildiz/kick-discord-rich-presence
