book fairy fantasy pins - queen clarion, beck and fira (pre-order) up for sale now!

Hi! This is my first post on here/reddit in general so I hope I'm doing this correctly. I currently make and sell fantasy pins in my shop under yayfatbirds. Currently I'm working on a (very slow moving) series of the disney fairies pins and was told that I should share some information here as there might be some interest. I've only really ever advertised on ig and am just expanding to tt.

The original artwork is a collaboration between myself and hadadeincognito (on ig). The first 5 designs were Tink, Rani, Bess, Prilla and Lily (all le 25 and sold out). But as the designs have been getting a bit more interest on ig, I've opened up the next 3 fairies (Queen Clarion, Beck and Fira) for open pre-order on my shop. If you'd like to see the art for these next 3, I can send you the listing in my shop or check out my ig "ph" highlight. The open pre-order is set to close on May 22nd at 9pm pdt.

There will be limited additional stock in hand if you're uncomfortable ordering in a pre-order fashion, however I don't plan on restocking them once they're sold out. I currently have a poll up on my ig stories to try and gauge how many extras I should order for an in hand sale so if that's something you'd be interested in please let me know.

For the sold out first 5 fairies I do plan on creating "variants" of the first 5 designs for those who missed out on them. They will be sold similarly in an open pre-order fashion and will be entirely different designs from the original 5 fairies. Same artist, but different pose/ pin mold.

Really hoping I did this right and hope you guys like the pins and pics! Photographing the pins is one of my favorite parts. :)

Anyone else remember the magazine?

I grew up outside the United States in SE Asia and never learned about Pixie Hollow MMORPG and was too lazy to read the books (I just liked looking at the illustrations haha), but I remember buying Disney fairies magazines. It seems like it wasn’t a thing in the US; I wonder if anyone else had this as their main exposure? I loved the magazines btw; I was a girly magazine lover lmao.

Enchanted University: Where Fairy Tales Become Campus Legends!

In a vibrant, lively campus where dreams collide with exams, epic parties, and legendary rivalries, Enchanted University comes to life. Here, Disney’s beloved heroes arrive as students ready to conquer the future, while the most iconic villains rule the classrooms as professors with hidden dark agendas. Roger and Anita Radcliffe lead the institution with passion and heart: he, the cheerful and wonderfully chaotic Director who fills the campus with music and creativity; she, the intelligent and courageous Vice-Director who protects the students and champions a fairer, more sustainable world. Together with their loyal Dalmatians Pongo and Perdita, they become the shield against the sinister schemes of Cruella, Maleficent, Ursula, Scar, and the rest of the villain professors. From Tinker Bell dominating as head cheerleader, to Belle devouring books in the library, Ariel exploring marine labs, Mulan ruling the sports fields, and many more… Enchanted University is the place where the magic of youth, friendship, and bravery clash with ambition and power. A semester packed with forbidden romances, unforgettable parties, killer exams, and epic battles between light and darkness. Which character would you like me to introduce first?

Silvermist and the Ladybug Curse Fantasy Pins

I finally got the Fantasy pin that I’ve been designing! I’ve always loved the Disney Fairies Books and spent all my free time playing Pixie Hollow—so when I wanted to dive into pin making I figured this was the best place to start!

Silvermist has always been my favorite and I always wished there was more merch of her like how she looked in the original books!

This is just 1 out of 17 pins that I plan on releasing on my Etsy later this year! I thought that I’d share here first because we all love the Disney Fairies! 🩵✨

Edit: Thank you so much for the support (and the first sale)! The pin is officially for sale on Etsy! PM me if you would like the link 🥹

Disney Fairies Storybook Collection

Hey everyone! I’m finally adding a Disney Fairies storybook collection to my shelf, but I need some help deciding which one to go for. Which of these should I get? Also, does anyone know which of these versions are considered rare vs. common?

Found this!

I loved Disney fairies as a kid in the 2010s and was so happy to find this thrifting!! Seeing it in the piles brought me right back to the tinkerbell stuff I used to have. Can anyone help me find out more about it? Is it from that time period or newer? I’m just curious! It’s a small mini backpack and the tag is half rubbed off, but I can see the logo. I think I want to use it for seashells:D

Secret of the Wings and Wings of Starlight small rant

Recently been revisiting my old interest in the Tinkerbell movies within the pages of the new Queen Clarion book. While I’m loving it, I do have a tiny bit of something that’s bothering me and has bothered me for awhile. Since this book is for teens, I feel like expecting a little bit more realistic lore is fair.

I know this is a fantasy make believe story originally invented for children so it doesn’t have to be realistic and all that but they’re the ones that went the romance route so…

This is what is bothering me: Fairies don’t reproduce. They’re born from a baby’s laughter. This would mean that realistically, with no need for them to reproduce, fairies would be asexual.
They could explain this away for Milori and Clarion by saying governing talent fairies DO in fact reproduce. And they could do it without being explicit. Like “governing talent fairies, unlike most fairies in pixie hollow, are not born of a humans laugh. Perhaps once long ago their predecessors were. But how governing talents come to be are not spoken of outside of their circle. Writing talent fairies believe this is because their talent is more concerned with the fairy world than the human one: therefore they cannot rely on humans for their existence.”

Instead I’m left through the whole book wondering why on earth two realistically asexual people are feeling romantic attraction towards one another.

I know I can’t be the only one wondering this…and I know I’m overthinking it because it’s a kids story originally and though this is for an older audience it’s still relying on a childish world. But I just wondered if I’m alone in my confusion 😂
