Let’s be honest: the Tinker Bell movies have way too many inconsistencies, not only with each other, but with the Peter Pan movies and the Disney Fairies books.

I know there was gonna be a movie about Tink meeting Peter Pan, but it was cancelled when Disney gave up on this franchise. The other cancelled movie, Tinker Academy, was canned because of story problems. Wouldn’t be surprised if “Tink Meets Peter” also had a rough development that led to cancellation. Because how can you even connect these movies with Peter Pan?

In the Tink movies, Captain Hook is much younger than he was in Peter Pan 1953, but Wendy is only a couple years younger. Also, Tink’s personality. People love to say that Tink’s friends die and there was a tragic event that made Tink bitter and jealous.

But really, Tink has a quick temper because according to the lore of the Peter Pan books, fairies are small and therefore can only experience one emotion at a time.
And there’s just no way 2008-2015 Tink would enjoy hanging out with a bunch of smelly little boys who kill animals and can barely understand her.

Also, the Tink movies are made by DisneyToon Studios, the same studio behind all those straight-to-DVD sequels. So it’s safe to say that Tink’s films are as canon to Peter Pan as those cheap sequels are to their theatrical predecessors.

All we know is that a contract is active so the project is in early development. But there’s always a chance it won’t make it though. Production drama, story issues, going over budget. Anything could happen. There’s also no confirmation whether this is a show or a movie. Or if this is part of the movie canon or an all new continuity.

I’m not trying to say that it’s never happening, just that we should temper our expectations. And remember that this project has not been officially announced. That Disney TVA fan account leaked the contract and went as far as to make a fake logo. And then Cartoon On The Moon paired it up with a concept of Tink in a steampunk outfit, which is actually from the cancelled Tinker Academy movie. These two really got people thinking a show or movie is 100% on the way. smh

Nothing was announced last night at the D23 Tinker Bell panel. It was just a recap of her history throughout the decades. I personally wasn’t shocked since this panel was under archives (which basically means revisiting old stuff). Mae Whitman and some artists who worked on the films shared their experiences, but that was really it.

That said, with all the new books and merch Disney Fairies has been getting despite the franchise getting completely buried and forgotten in 2015, it’s understandable that people are disappointed by a lack of news for the future of Pixie Hollow

I know some people felt that Viva was an unnecessary addition in Band Together and that there should have been more moments with Branch and his brothers. But it wasn’t really unnecessary.

Poppy was very naïve about sibing-hood. She believed it would always be happiness. That’s why she kept encouraging Branch to bond with his brothers. And then she reunites with a lost sibling of her own. However, she turns out to be possessive and fearful. This experience was actually important for Poppy’s development. This is where she realized that sibling-hood is not as joyful as she thought it’d be. And it’s why she took Branch’s side when he decided to ditch his bros and save Floyd himself.

As we all know, Terence is Tinker Bell’s best friend. He had an impactful scene in the first film, a big role in the second, a small role in the third. By the fourth and fifth, he was basically a background character. And he doesn’t appear in the last one at all.

Why exactly was he sidelined so much even though he was very much built-up as a character? Is it because they wanted to focus more on the girls? Is it because they didn’t wanna pay Jesse McCartney?

Some people ship him and Tink together. The movies seemed like they wanted them to form a bit of a romance. Was the crew too scared to make them official? I once saw someone say that Disney was strict with Tinker Bell, since she’s one of their mascots, and didn’t want her to have any romantic partner. I dunno if this is officially true. Please tell me. The books certainly weren’t scared to blatantly tease romance between them.

While I personally don’t ship them at all, I still find it curious how we got a whole movie about their relationship and kept getting little teases of a potential romance, only for Terence to get sidelined hard. Anyone know anything?
