Hi share ko lang po yung new family member po namin. 😊
Worth 7 days of homemade meals for my dog 🐾🤍
Super easy lang gawin at home! as long as may fridge po kayo :))
First time JRT fur mom 🐶
I knew JRTs were energetic, pero parang nasobrahan ata. 😂 Nabulabog yung katahimikan namin sa bahay. But despite all that energy, there was never a dull moment. Every day, pinapasaya niya ako.
Have you guys encountered this?
I just woke up and napansin ko yung red mass of sort sa may genital area ng dog ko. For financial reasons I cannot get my dog checked as much as I want to. Now I'm asking if there's anything na pwede ko gawin to help my dog kase I don't want to lose her this early pa po. I don't even know what to do kase wala ako pera pampacheck up sa kanya.
Have a blessed Sunday! *Wink wink smirk*
Good morning, everybody! Here is my dog, Pepper 🫶🏻 I love when she retracts her ears everytime she gets the rub rub time 😅
Feeding these furballs
Third time doing stray feeding..sana masundan ulit 😊
My friend's 4-year-old dachshund suddenly can't walk. Looking for IVDD surgeon recommendations.
Hi everyone,
I'm posting on behalf of a close friend who's absolutely devastated right now.
Her 4-year-old male dachshund was recently diagnosed with early-stage IVDD. He had been on strict crate rest and seemed to be recovering well, so we were hopeful he was getting better.
But today everything changed.
He suddenly cried out in pain, lost the ability to walk, and had to be rushed to the emergency vet.
My friend is inconsolable. This little guy is her whole world, and seeing him like this has been heartbreaking. We're hoping we're not out of options.
We're trying to find an experienced IVDD surgeon or veterinary neurologist as soon as possible in case surgery is recommended.
If anyone has recommendations, personal experiences, or knows a surgeon they trust, we would be incredibly grateful. Success stories, advice, or even words of encouragement would mean so much right now.
We're just trying to give him the best chance possible.
Thank you so much. ❤️🐾
SHY UPDATE: Where it becomes more challenging. Can some help me reach out to anyone who could potentially help us take care of Shy? I just have errands today but will start messaging them, too. Pls suggest every shelter & individual you can. Donations are still needed to provide for her aftercare.
They couldn’t give a definite prognosis due to the nature of distemper but I believe Shy is now stable enough to be discharged and her tremors/twitching/tics will eventually remain minimal with the help of supplements.
I really hope you can help me message potential adopters. Thanks!
SHY UPDATE: Rescued dog, distemper. Prognosis, current bill paid, treatment plan, huge concern for post-discharge care. (Long post ahead)
I want to apologize in advance if I won’t be able to word this post properly. My travel felt like I went to Baguio for 4 hours, stayed for 4 hours, then went back home for 4 hours again.
Firstly, thank you so much to everyone who has been very supportive from Day 1, both morally and financially. It has been a rollercoaster ride and ride of emotions and as my first time to actually take responsibility for a seriously ill, rescued dog, as much as taking care of my own dog, cat and elderly parents, without assurance of anything, I’m super grateful for all of your help.
Shoutout to u/Pawsitive_Guardians, it was nice meeting you and thank you so much for a box full of food donations and for all of your help/assistance for the past two days. And to all other who DMed and who tried visiting Shy. I was so thrilled to hear earlier that people were inquiring about Shy and asking for visitation hours. I have tested today that I am not 3 hours away, but 4 hours away from the clinic, and I saw how Shy kind of lightened up when I stayed with her for almost 3 hours (1 hr out for lunch, facility was locked so I had to wait for the staff), so your visit would mean a lot given she might be discharged next week.
So I decided to stick with writing her attending vet’s impression/prognosis. She said Shy is not yet out of the woods given she has twitching, but the good news is:
- Shy is sooooooo food-driven it’s crazy yet it is such a positive thing. Even when she couldn’t get her body to get up, she tries to move her head towards her bowl and just starts eating. I think she never lost her appetite
- Her blood values are amazing. (Pls see attached pic) No blood parasite, HCT is not in danger zone for blood transfusion. Infection is being successfully treated (Doc said it could be an ear infection, but they will recheck if there is a risk of pyometra.) But overall, her immune system is terrific for a stray dog except distemper is on a different level of demonic disease.
- SPAY. Doc suggests for Shy to get spayed once everything gets better.
- She is now less aggressive, less sensitive to touch. They do not need to muzzle her except her blood extraction earlier which I watched and she is still such a good girl despite her painful nerves.
- She whines and cries A LOOOOT when it is time to poop, maybe because anal nerves are more sensitive now, so maybe it kinda feels like hemorrhage to humans. But after bowel, she looks relieved and then sleeps calmly—no twitching after.
- I mentioned fish oil to doc and confirmed that it’s going to be part of her maint supplement together with Vit B, so we might need to provide for this until such time her twitching is almost minimal (it could happen to some dogs, it is not impossible.)
The next main concern now is, I’m a bit blank now about who could take her in. Somebody was kind enough to post every shelter nearby (Novaliches) but I haven’t checked on it yet. As much as I want to take her in, I don’t have a space to contain her and I have huge responsibilities for my humans.
If anyone else has suggestions or recommendations on who could possibly take her in, please, please, DM me or comment it down below.
She would also at least need a huge crate/dog house to contain her until such time she is okay and possibly not contagious anymore because viral shedding usually takes months.
As for the cost breakdown, pls see attached pic. I will update donations tomorrow.
I will edit this post to add other details. Again, thank you everyone! Pagod but worth it.
Shoutout to legit, kind, genuine, no-attitude rescuers. Hindi ko alam paano niyo ginagawa to, and paulit-ulit. Walang kapaguran. Salamat sa inyo.
My boyfriend donated to an animal rescue page and later found out it was a scam
Idk what flair to use, sorry if this isn’t the right one.
Please help us report this Facebook page.
Apparently, this page has been scamming people by selling t-shirt while using photos and videos grabbed from animal shelters and rescue pages to make it look like they’re helping animals.
My boyfriend actually donated because he genuinely wanted to support the cause, but later found out that the page wasn’t legit and was just using other shelters content. It’s honestly so disappointing because they’re taking advantage of people who simply want to help animals in need. It’s frustrating that the page is still up, which means more people can still get fooled and potentially lose money.
Hopefully, if enough people report it, Facebook will finally take action and take it down. Please be careful when donating online. 🥺🙏🐾

SHY UPDATE: I’m here at the vet. Shy has eaten, slept, less twitching, possibly either recuperating or muscles are fatigued from nonstop twitching for days.
My 3.5 hours travel time is so worth it. I’ll be staying here for an hour or so maybe, settling current running bill but I will definitely need more of your help for her vet bills.
Urine normal.
No Bowel movement yet.
Was able to sleep.
Eaten.
Currently sleeping peacefully now while I’m talking to the staff (10:39AM)
Asked them to add fish oil to help with brain swelling.
Editing later.
Only fur parents know.
I saw this post and really warmed my heart.
