60 days out!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
There will be a super early tasting scheduled, followed by at least one a day until I have run out!
This year's flavors will be
Classic Kilted Bear honeyed rum
Teatime, the black tea infused rum
Kilted Bear Peach (the name says it all)
And a small amount of Kilted Cobbler, the KBR cordial made with Georgia Peach cider
Follow me for schedule updates!
And a hearty "Thank you" to Dad's Garage for the quote that I have shamelessly stolen for my own nefarious deeds!
I've always tried to do something new every year, and at times it feels like I am running out of stuff to try. In some sense I am looking for events that are not widely attended and not widely regarded, but good enough to be an essential part of your con experience. It can be anything from a band that doesn't get huge crowds to an annual panel that is beloved by everyone in the track. Any official happening can qualify.
My general recommendations would be stuff like:
Raspberry Pie - a disco/funk band out of Orlando that makes songs about nerdy topics (fighting games, Sonic the Hedgehog, speaking Klingon, etc). I think this premise can sound a little corny to people with no interest in disco, but their grooves are pretty infectious. If you like dancing, there's a lot to enjoy here.
Release the Bats - an annual panel on the state of the goth community. I don't consider myself a goth, and don't listen to any goth music that was recorded after the Year 2000, but it's always weirdly fascinating the check in on an idiosyncratic subculture. Volaire and Rogue (of the Cruxshadows) are usually panelists.
Danger Woman - an acquired taste at best, but certainly an essential for me.
Hello, I was very lucky to get the Glenn Hotel this year and was wondering what your opinion of it is and how far the walk is?
While I’ve been going to DCon most years since 2000, I live in Atlanta so last year was the first year I actually got a hotel room and stayed down near the convention. Between that new experience and my first time cosplaying, I had a blast. But the room was at Georgian Terrace, which is kind of a drudge to hike back-and-forth from the con.
This year, because I plan to do a lot more cosplaying, I got an Airbnb for the whole convention in the Altitude building, that apartment building attached to the back of the Hilton. While it looks nice (and it’s a bit more expensive than I really want to spend), does anyone have any experience staying there for the convention or any tips about the place? Specifically things like overall experience, how easy or difficult it is to get in and out or use the elevators in full cosplay, or anything else?
Thanks in advance.
Checking in with my DC fam before posting to a larger audience.
Would you be interested in a free power wheelchair?
Well used, but works fine. Charger included.
Some cracking and wear-and-tear on the upholstery and rubber joystick boot. Has been stored in master closet (non-smoking home) as a backup chair until I moved it into the garage today. While it's functional for its original purpose, it's cosmetically tired.
The underlying platform could serve as a fairly powerful combat robotics foundation. Or a Dalek.
EDIT: Claimed with pickup arrangements scheduled. Y'all are the best!
Hi friends! Can't wait to see you all so soon. Anyway, we didn't think we were going to make it this year, but turns out we can swing it, so we're scrambling to figure out housing. Is anyone sitting on a hotel room they don't plan on using for themselves? Preferably one of the adjacent hotels, but I won't be picky this late in the game. Thank you so much!

Just finished this for an art show and plan to bring it to con this year!
I’m thinking of going and I’ve never been to a con ever. So I’m jumping straight into the fire. Is There a good place to get An into on how days go arrival departure etc where stuff is (no transportation so hoping to stay at host hotel if there something available) that I can look at as I take a look at my finances and work schedule?
cause if seems fun yet overwhelming
Despite having a decent number in the Marriott lottery, the website crashed on me and we weren’t able to secure a room. A friend joining is in a wheelchair and having a central room would make a huge difference. Is there a central source for finding rooms that may have opened up? She’s considering cancelling and I want to make this work!!
I went on SpotHero and made reservations for parking at 303 Peachtree Center Ave, Truist Plaza garage, and am looking for past experiences parking here? I made 4 separate daily reservations.
Hi! So, I had a reservation for AC Hotel and I heard pretty good things about it, but I decided to switch to Courtyard instead because it was just a little closer and it had more room amenities.
So I wanted to ask if it's just as nice there as it is for AC? Like are the rooms clean and is it quiet?
Also, I'll be staying there with my father and we have a king corner room. I'll see if I can upgrade it to a double room closer to DC but if I can’t, would we be able to fit the both of us in there? Maybe with an air mattress?
And one more thing, I have a friend who will be staying with us for like one day, but since she went to GSU, she told me that it isn’t that safe at night normally, so Is that true? I can probably get my dad to walk back with me at night, but I’m just checking just in case I have to be alone.
Any answers are appreciated, thank you!
I'm looking to streamline things and pre-purchase an autograph from David Tennant. However, I noticed on Epic's site they have two listings: "Autograph" and "Premium Autograph." Does anybody have any idea what the difference is? Is "premium" things like Funkos or props, or is it anything not a provided 8x10? Or does it mean personalization/quotes? Or am I overthinking things???
Due to circumstances beyond our control we will not be holding the room giveaway this year.
Stay tuned for updates on where you can grab DCC swag! None of our Swag: badge cards, prints, and pins, will be available at the blood drive.
As a reminder - no AI images were used in the creation of DCC art - we only use commissioned works. This year's artists are: Silas Goewey, and Allie Briggs (who will be at Dragon Con).
One of the artists we used last year was Gabriel Rearte. He also designed the DCC logo. Rearte has worked on countless franchises: Grimm Fairy Tales, Lady Death, Wonder Woman, Witchblade, Moon Maid, etc...
We're restructuring our approach and will be changing platforms. Helping others has always been our goal, and that hasn't changed. These values are reflected in our thriving community.
Everyone in the DCC is proud of the work we've done, and we're looking forward to our next chapter.
Stay Groovy!
Hello all, this will be my second year attending Dragon Con, my first year doing all five days. I've only found ways to connect with other attendees on Facebook, but for personal reasons, I currently don't use that. I'm on Discord a lot, so I was wondering if there's any Discord groups for Dragon Con?
Its almost time!!! Even I will be doing a couple cosplays myself (nothing intense just fun).
But me personally I think we're going to see a lot of Stranger Things, as well as Jujutsu Kaisen, but what do you think???
Hi there! This will be my 5th year going to Dragon Con and I’m planning to buy a Walk of Fame item this year.
I was wondering if it is a good idea to purchase autographs/photo ops before buying my con ticket? Is it possible for the Walk of Fame items on Leap to sell out?
This is my first year buying anything other than a con ticket and I would appreciate some advice/guidance!
I am aware this question essentially answers itself but I’d like to hear what people usually do when pre-buying their Walk of Fame items.
