Seeking support -IID/ILD/BAIID

I know I did something stupid and got a DUI. I have to have an ILD/IID on my car for a month. I have a LifeSafer device. For a year. This seems like forever. Can anybody offer some words of wisdom for this experience? Again, I know I did something dumb and have to make amends. Any advice would be appreciated regarding how to deal with this. Thank you! 60M / TN

Pre trial ARD

Hi everyone, I am currently in the pre trial phase for ARD in Dauphin County PA with my court date being November. My ARD conditions do not say to abstain from alcohol, but I realized during my monthly check in, the website asks if I have had any alcohol. Will I get in trouble for having a single drink? I had my first and only drink out since October (when I got pulled over for DUI). I did not drive, and have been extremely responsible since getting pulled over. So much so that the only conditions I have left to complete are paying my fines. Just curious on if I should ask my lawyer and then my PO, because I know my lawyer is there to help me. Thanks. I’m extremely stressed about it now, but I was not recommended for any further alc treatment etc. my DUI in October was an awful mistake which I have learned from, I don’t want one drink to deter me from all of the progress I’ve made.

I’ve reviewed all my paperwork before I drank, and then reviewed it after. I know I made the conscious choice to drink, but I also shuffled through all of my paperwork first. I do not like how I felt after the drink, all of the trauma from the night I was pulled over came flooding back, so it won’t happen again.

Jefferson County Colorado DUI reinstatement questions

location: South Carolina/Colorado

Colorado DUI reinstatement after records were destroyed - administrative remedy?

I'm hoping someone familiar with Colorado administrative law or DMV reinstatements can point me in the right direction.

Here's my situation:

  • In 2008, I was arrested for DUI in Jefferson County, Colorado. My BAC was 0.18.
  • In 2010, I was sentenced to:
    • 1 year of probation
    • Community service
    • Level II DUI education/treatment
  • I completed the community service.
  • To the best of my recollection, I also completed the court-ordered Level II DUI education/treatment through a private treatment provider.
  • Several months after completing the Level II program, my probation was revoked because I used cannabis. The violation was unrelated to alcohol or failure to complete treatment. Instead of receiving an additional probation sentence, I served 60 days in county jail.

At the same time, my driver's license also had a separate suspension related to child support enforcement. That issue has since been completely resolved and the child support hold has been removed.

The only remaining issue preventing reinstatement is Colorado's DUI hold.

When I contacted the Colorado DMV, I was told they have no record that I completed the Level II DUI education/treatment.

Since then, I have tried to obtain proof of completion:

  • I contacted the Jefferson County court.
  • I requested court records and transcripts.
  • I contacted the original private treatment provider.

Both the court and the treatment provider informed me that, because of the age of the case, the records have been destroyed pursuant to their record retention policies. As a result, there appears to be no surviving documentation of the completion of my Level II program.

So I'm now in a situation where:

  • The Colorado DMV has no record that the Level II program was completed.
  • The court no longer has records.
  • The treatment provider no longer has records.
  • I cannot produce documentation that no longer exists.

I currently live in South Carolina and will be relocating to North Carolina in the next few months, so returning to Colorado for multiple trips would be impossible.

My questions are:

  1. Is there an administrative appeal or review process for situations like this?
  2. Can Colorado continue to require proof of completion when the records have been lawfully destroyed by both the court and the treatment provider?
  3. Is my only realistic option to complete another Level II DUI program?
  4. Would this be the type of issue that warrants consulting a Colorado attorney who handles DMV reinstatement matters, or is it something that can usually be resolved directly with the Colorado DMV?

I'm not looking to avoid any legitimate legal requirements. I'm simply trying to determine the proper legal process when the original records no longer exist despite my efforts to obtain them and the classes were a large financial burden at the time and I only imagine are even more expensive now.

I appreciate any guidance, especially from anyone familiar with Colorado DMV reinstatements or who has dealt with a similar situation.

Just would like perspective- Agg DUI - OK-Already served 25 days

Got a lawyer already through indigent system so I'm good there. Agg DUI, first offensive. I do have a understanding that agg dui is seen as felony status in Oklahoma.

---Alch over .15 and hit the back of one car which hit the back end of another car. So auto Agg. According to police report, no one went to hospital but "bodily injury assumed"

----Spoke with lawyer, he said he already chatted with DA and he said worst case is deferred sentence.------Reason I did 25 days was because I had no money, and no one to bond me out.---Court in a month and a half. Just scared I guess. Scared of going back in

Is my brother going to get a DUI?

This was his blood draw results a few hours after his last drink. I think this is the hospitals blood draw results. The police also had a warrant for a sample. They didn’t catch him in the act of driving but witnesses told the police he was trying to help another vehicle get unstuck in a forest park. He broke his leg trying to stop the damage when his vehicle rolled back into the car he was trying to help. His leg was pinned between both vehicles 🤦‍♂️. He’s currently in the hospital recovering after surgery. This will be a felony DUI because it’s his 5th. He’s also going to miss work and is hoping for disability.

When he is discharged from the hospital what is the likelihood he is taken straight to jail? He hasn’t spoken to a lawyer yet but plans on calling the public defenders office Monday.

Edit: this is in Colorado

Going to court next week for 2nd dui offense, what am I looking like in court next week?

I live in Vegas January 8th I smoke weed at night and drive, I tried driving safest I possibly could, I really focus well. All I remember 3 hours later, I was driving straight and accept a doordash delivery order. Afterwards cop comes in big DUI van. Says I was swerving, gives me sobriety test, puts me in jail. Fast forward to May 31st. I went to gay boyfriends friends fiesta. I refused to drink that night, my boyfriend still gives me 3 tiny sips of alcohol, 2 seltzer smirnoff, 1 buzzball. This was in the time span of 5 hours. I leave middle of night, boyfriend was rekt drunk, he threw a cake out my car because it spilled on my car. Next thing I know cop comes. Says my lights were out, was faulty lights. I refuse sobriety test, breathalyzer and was taken to jail. Got bailed on, now I have court next week for the 2nd Dui. I am supposed to get a status check for the 1st one two days later. Whats going to happen to me? The judge knocked the first to reckless driving and I am scared if I am going to jail for no reason. Whats going to happen to me?

I DON'T BELIEVE I DID ANYTHING WRONG.

OUI in Maine, First Offense

Got pulled over last night for a license plate light being out and 'barely' (officers words) swaying over the center line once. Pulled me over told me why he stopped me, asked if i had any drinks, i said 4 beers over 5 hours. Did every field sobriety test there is, I did however have injuries which affected my balance (Torn meniscus and torn mcl) in my knees. No field breathalyzer. Got back to the station for the breath test there, looked at the machine and it was calibrated a couple months ago. I had taken an Amazon Breath tester prior to leaving the function and i was sitting at a .091. Got breath tested at the station an hour and a half later and blew a .104. Got a court summons in September, so Im not sure if Im allowed to drive for my work anymore after this until my court date. I dont have a CDL but it is a commercial box truck. If the cop doesnt show for his court date is the case just dismissed?

Smart Start Payment Due but all payed

I have called Smart Start multiple times to confirm all payments are up to date, confirmed on app. Their “techs” told me to disconnect and reconnect the device. I see that could be a problem in Texas. I flat out asked if it would lock me out Monday and I’d have to pay for an unlock code, answer being yes. I drove to my installer and asked him what to do. His answer “don’t worry you’ll be fine until calibration”.

I’m at my wits end and don’t know what to do. I’ve been stonewalled trying everything I can to approach this proactively. It has yet to disappear from my device and I am really scared of being locked out come Monday morning.

My sister has a court summons for driving under the influence in Jersey. Please help

We’re going to speak to a lawyer ASAP. She was drunk I don’t know what her BAC level was I’m freaking the fuck out, she has issues with alcohol and ive been trying to get her to stop but whatever. She said they stopped her while she was backing out of a parking lot, put her in handcuffs took her to the station made her take a breathalizer test and walk around then my cousin came to pick her up and they told her she can get the car from a tow zone tomorrow. The car is under my mom’s name so she has to call to provide permission for my sister to get it.

My parents are really good people and they’re super religious, if they find out my sister was drinking it might give my dad a heart attack and that’s what I’m concerned about. She’s on their car insurance too so I don’t even fucking know how we can do this without them finding out. She’s 26 she lives with them in nyc but was staying at my cousin’s in Jersey. It’s still early so I’m going to call my aunt in the morning to find a lawyer in Jersey but yeah. I’m terrified for my parents I’m so angry and disappointed of my sister, it’s been nonstop fights about her drinking for months now. If it wasn’t for my parents I would feel relieved this happened so that she can learn her lesson but I don’t want this on her record. We have a lot of family in Canada so what does this mean she won’t be able to go to Canada for 10 years? Is there any chance this gets waived away and she’s given probation? What if she has proof of giving up her car and not driving anymore will they still make her put an interlock in the car? My parents will definitely realize if there’s a whole fucking breathalizer machine in the car. Omg I’m losing it I just want to hear if there are stories where things end up okay in this situation. My cousin almost died last week and my family is already in shambles right now I don’t know how much more I can take

Extreme DUI Arizona

I was arrested for extreme dui July 27th 2025 and still no court date is this common? I refused a breathalyzer and consented to a blood draw at police station once I was advised by my lawyer. I did the 90 day suspension and when I completed the alcohol screening to get my license back in November it showed that the blood results came back and it was being charged as extreme DUI. I’m just wondering has this happened to anyone else or what’s the hold up? They have 3 weeks left to charge so I’m on my toes about it.

Interlock Companies Colorado

I am 18 months into my 2 year mandate. LifeSafer is digging their heels in and making my life impossible. I have written confirmation from the DMV that I am allowed to switch providers. Which one sucks the least? I am in Colorado. Also, any pointers on the removal process?

DUI second offense VA

Is there anything I can do. I got a DUI 9 1/2 years ago and have not gotten into any trouble or any issues since then. I went out downtown with my friends last year in December and I was driving. I got pulled over for issues with my lights. The cop asked me to do a field test, but I declined however I did do a blood test and the blood test results were a .1, so I was right over the limit. I did get a Public Defender, She’s basically saying that I can get off on the refusal because I didn’t verbally refuse, (I just said that I wanted a lawyer), but I’m going to have to serve jail time. I’ve already served three days because it was a weekend and I was waiting on a bond and I really really do not want to go back. I can’t handle it and I also can’t miss work. Is there anything I can do to get out of that?

Question about RESTRICTED license w/ IID requirement - TN

Hello all -

I was convicted of a DUI in TN, had an IID installed ( a LifeSafer device) and applied for and received a RESTRICTED license.

Printed on the back of the license :

15: Special Restriction Order. 16: Ignition Interlock Device.

As I understand it, the '16' means I can only drive an IID equipped vehicle.

What does the '15' mean? Online information sources are unclear to me.

Again, state is TN. Convicted April 2026.

I appreciate any guidance. Thanks to all!

1 offense

So boom there I was making bad choices last month leaving a wedding. I hadn’t drank in months and I didn’t eat definitely the recipe for disaster!

Thank God no injuries accidents nothing - well the cops left bruising on my arm from grabbing me so hard but whatever. I took pictures and went to the doctor behind it just for my own record.

Anyway! Look I hired a lawyer I emailed to confirm my court appearance next week. Mind you I did the DUI class, MADD, & I completed an evaluation along with a drug test. I also have my community service set up. Before this I was living a sober life and this experience definitely will uphold my soberity. My point is THIS MF DIDNT KNOW I HAD COURT NEXT WEEK! I wana fire them! Like what the fuck do you mean I paid almost 9k and you not tracking I have court next week!?!!!

I AM NOT GOING BACK TO JAIL! Should I fire em? I’m so scared and I want my damn money back atp!

This happened somewhere in GA.

Dui and assault canada

Not for me but a friend. They have a lawyer but still in the early processes.

Basically they got a DUI and assault charges based on a fight they and the other person had. Both had Injuries but nothing life threatening.

Has anyone else been through this? What was the result? I know every case is different but I am very curious.

This is a first offense
