Another E21 added to the family!

All the parts are there, just stored away in plenty of boxes. A lot of great stuff came with the car too that I was looking for: 5 speed, European front bumper, Alpina fiberglass front valance, nice aftermarket steering wheel, and a set of hard to find tinted taillight lenses. Plenty more small stuff too but those were some of the big ticket items

83 320i M54 Swap

Gonna be doing an engine swap on my 83 320i, just started hearing some rod knock 🥲. I know it would be way easier just to do rod bearings but I'm not happy with the power of this engine anyways, so here comes a whole lot of work and wiring to put an electronic inline 6 into a mechanical 4 banger car!

My beloved 1982 E21 320i S is back on the road

I’m still so happy to finally have my E21 back and shifting great. My last transmission had a bad leak and I ignored it for to long and over heated my transmission damaging the gear sets and bearings. Now with this transmission I installed she drives 10 times better then before but soon I want to change out my shifter to the z3 shifter just to give a crisper shift. Besides that I’m really stoked.

Question for where I can get new fuel lines for my injectors to the fuel distributor my original ones are badly discolored and would like to refinish it.

First start up after installing the transmission.

It sounded awful without the exhaust but not bad for sitting for almost 4ish months. Was a fun ish experience hard to find parts but overall not too hard to work on.

Probably made it 10 times harder on myself for doing it on jack stands and got to do in 2 days. It would’ve been done in 1 day but the clutch fork spinning popped out after with where tightening the last few transmission bolts. So we had to drop the transmission again so we decided to stop and continue first thing in the morning and finish.

Finally got my E21 back on the road.

Got another getrag 245 found this one online in Canada. It came with working speedo cable my original one worked but when it came to coming to a stop it would start to bounce. So far the new Sachs clutch has just been broken in with its first 500 miles no issues so far been amazing to drive on the freeway.

K-Jet Air/Fuel Allen

First k-jet question! The 3mm screw on the distribution block. Is there a base setting for this? As in full lean or full rich? Or does it function more like a small butterfly and basically only has about 90 degrees of useful adjustment? I watched PO twist and turn while showing me the tool he bought to adjust it and I’m trying to get it set ballpark correct in order to better tune. Thanks in advance.
