Imperial vs Warwick Online MBA

Hi everyone! I’m considering applying for the Global Online MBA at Imperial or Warwick and would really appreciate some advice.

A bit about me: I currently work in digital marketing for a luxury hospitality brand. My goal for an MBA is to strengthen my profile, develop leadership skills, and help me progress into future roles like Marketing Manager or Director of Marketing.

I’d love to hear from anyone who has studied at either school:
\- How was your overall experience?
\- Did you feel you learned a lot beyond what you already knew from work?
\- Was networking meaningful? Did you build lasting professional connections?
\- How heavy was the workload while working full-time?
\- How often did you have to attend live classes? Were they mandatory or were recordings available?

I’m also open to other online MBA recommendations if you think there’s a better fit for someone in marketing and leadership.

One more question about scholarships: my budget is fairly tight. Do Imperial or Warwick offer good scholarships for online MBA students? Is a high GMAT/GRE score important for receiving a scholarship, or do they place more emphasis on work experience, leadership potential, and the overall application?

I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thanks in advance!

All set, getting cold feet

Hi all. I’ve been accepted to my dream school. When it got real, I realized an Executive MBA from a good school costs crazy money. Although I figured out the loan and payment plan, I’ve been thinking what else I could do with that money: week long executive courses/ certificates from good business schools; starting my own business (I have little to no idea though)

How did you commit on such investment and years long paybacks? With AI and all, it is a tough decision

Anyone took the Executive Assessment in 2026? used 300 practice from MBA

I’m getting really nervous about taking the Executive Assessment for the second time. The first time, I didn’t really study and still scored a 146 — which isn’t bad. I got a 19 in IR, a 6 in CR, and a 2 in Quant. But now I really need to take this test because I feel lost in my accounting career, and I’m finally ready to pursue my master’s. I mean, I even broke up with my boyfriend — everything in my life is changing at once.

I’ve been studying the 300 official EA questions from mba.com and reviewing the core concepts, but I’m scared the real test won’t look anything like what I’m practicing. I’ve tried a private tutor, I’ve tried TTP, and I think being out of school for seven years has changed the way I learn. I’m just trying to figure out how to prepare without letting the nerves take over.

Confused Between FMVA and EXIM Courses. Please Help

Hi everyone,
I recently completed my MBA in Finance from a Tier 3 college in Pune and I am a fresher.
I am confused between FMVA and EXIM/Trade Finance courses. I also do not know which institute is worth joining. For FMVA, I have looked at QuintEdge, The WallStreet School, IMS Proschool, and IIM Skills. For EXIM, I am still not able to find a good institute.
If anyone has done these courses or works in finance, please guide me. Which course would you choose for a fresher, and which institute would you recommend?
Thank you!

Executive MBA graduates: what’s been your ROI after graduation? Especially Big 4 alumni

Hey all! curious to hear from Executive MBA grads about whether the degree actually paid off after graduation.

I’m especially interested in people who worked at Big 4 firms and did their EMBA at places like UCLA or similar schools, but I’d love to hear from anyone with firsthand experience.

Main things I’m wondering:

  • Did the EMBA end up being worth the money?
  • Did it help your career in a real way? (promotion, comp bump, career switch, better opportunities?)
  • How much of the value came from the network vs. the degree itself?
  • If you were at Big 4, did it change anything for you there or when you moved on?
  • Looking back, would you do it again?

Just looking for honest experiences — good, bad, or somewhere in between. I know ROI is different for everyone, but I’d love to hear what it looked like in practice.

MBA at Company or Texas Tech? MBA vs Finance

Hey everyone, I am currently interning at a company this summer that would pay for me to do an MBA, but I’d have to be working full time and it would take a few years. I am considering going back to school for a 4th year at Texas Tech and trying to get scholarships for a graduate program to pay for it all or at least most of it. I currently have 2 semesters of scholarships leftover which is 11k total plus I think I’ll have around 2k-4k from other scholarships, from my understanding an MBA is 3 semesters and would be around 27k.

I could also get a Masters in Finance which I am interested in, and at my company they view these degrees as the same and would bump me up to a level 2 starting either way. That would be around 2 semesters and I think about 20k. I think I might end up wanting an MBA later in my career (probably not but maybe, and my undergrad is not finance)

Can anyone tell me how much it costed them for the masters in finance or an MBA at Texas Tech and what scholarships or funding they were able to get/how much they actually paid? I would like to be at school for a 4th year and be with my friends and girlfriend and would be graduating from college at 22 with an MBA, and hopefully debt free or really close to it.

MBA at 44 with 2 kids? Anyone

I’m exploring an MBA, live in NorCal - have an almost high schooler and 1st grader! Accounting professional, have a strong resume but doesn’t translate into executive communication, networking or presence or the soft skills and more… considering if I should give up a years salary and pursue an EMBA or should I give up the “dream” and think about funding my kids college education. $250K + for an mba just seems too difficult to justify. I don’t think my employer would sponsor.

Has anyone been in a similar boat? Would love to hear different perspectives on going back to school or how you did it?

eMBA ROI?

Hello wise ones,

My husband made a career change in his late 20s to pursuing higher education. He completed a Bachelor's degree, then a Master's of Health Administration, then transitioned into hospital administration where he has often struggled with the challenge of office politics and being subject to decisions made what he describes as incompetent senior executives.

He decided to pursue an executive MBA last year with an Ivy League university. He was under the distinct impression that this will open a lot of doors and opportunities. During his degree, he left his hospital position and started his own consultancy, landed a contract pretty quickly, but the position was terminated seven months later.

Now he is back in job searching mode, but has already been turned down by the major firms he has applied to. He seems to be losing confidence by the day, and unsure if this was a very expensive decision that won't yield the ROI he expected. He also is sick and tired of not advancing in his career, and has left or been let go from a number of project management roles, all of which he complained about incompetent senior executives and just wanted to know what he needed to do to "become an executive who could get paid well to make stupid decisions and not suffer the consequences of them." Overall, he seems very bitter and angry about his career stagnation.

I sense he has the drive and ambition to grow a business, but he seems unsure of what skills he actually has to offer/ a solid business plan that would get him past project manager roles.

Wondering if anyone out there has experience with eMBA programs, was in a similar situation, and has a positive 🌈 story or advice to share? Or thoughts in general! Thanks! ❤️

Help needed: Should I go for Full-time MBA or SP Jain EMBA?

31M

Working in a SaaS startup in the Martech domain

Completed BSc Computer Science from a relatively normal college in Mumbai (graduated in 2021)

Had a 5-year gap after Class 12

I’ve been working since November 2021 in a Customer Success (CSM) role, and most recently my total compensation has been ~20 LPA (including performance-based incentives; fixed is lower).

I’m now planning for an MBA but I’m quite confused. I’m ready to put in the effort for entrance exams, but I haven’t given any yet. I’m trying to decide between Executive MBA vs Full-time MBA.

I have significant loans, so quitting my job for a full-time MBA would be financially challenging. I’m also unsure how realistic it is for me to target top colleges like ISB or IIM A/B/C. If not, what are the other good full-time MBA options I should consider?

On the executive MBA side, I currently have an offer/acceptance for SP Jain EMBA. Is it worth it? Or should I explore other part-time/executive options as well?
I’d really appreciate guidance on what would be the most sensible path given my profile and constraints.

From MO to Front Office

Hello all!

I am Middle office worker in Europe, working as trade support analyst for 2 clients in US investment banking.

I am thinking about MBA and need to prepare solid storyline for „Why MBA?” And „Why Me?”

Is there anyone who had the same situation and got into M7 or any other MBA programs?
From my side, I can say that i want to relocate to US, have network there, and want to challenge myself more, as in current place the best scenario - officer in 7 years, which for me is too ling for such level. More than that I want to be involved in front office workload, not just supporting and doing technical/operational tasks, but to be on the other side of the table as well.

I have talked to several people who got to MBA, those have been managers, or had CFA, in my case i am associate, because i have been working in other fields of finance before and switched to investment banking a little more than year ago. In previous positions i have been specialist.

Can anybody advise what can be good storyline for me? What MBA can give me?

I just want to hear how the whole situation looks from aside to be able to objectively evaluate the situation.

Thank you in advance.

Is an MBA worth it for a Tech Team Lead who already has an MS in IT & Management?

Profile:
Current Role: Team Leader (managing a tech team)
Experience: 7 years in the industry
Education: Already hold a Master’s in IT and Management (MSITM)
The Dilemma:
seriously considering going back to school for an MBA, but i am not sure if it’s overkill or a smart strategic move given their current credentials. Not sure if it’s waste of Money and time. Or will it actually get me into good spot. Like the c roles or director positions.
main questions for the community:
Is an MBA redundant if you already have a Master's in IT Management, or does it actually open different doors?
For someone with 7 years of experience, should they look exclusively at Executive MBA (EMBA) programs, or are part-time professional MBAs worth it?
Will the ROI justify the cost and effort at this stage in the career?
Would love to hear from anyone who has made a similar pivot or works in tech leadership hiring! Thanks in advance.

25+ Executive MBA & Working Professional MBA Programs in India 2026-27

We have covered every major Executive MBA/Working Professional MBA program in India.

It covers 25+ programs from:

  • ISB
  • IIM Ahmedabad
  • IIM Bangalore
  • SDA Bocconi
  • IIM Kozhikode
  • IIM Lucknow
  • IIM Indore
  • IIM Mumbai
  • IIM Udaipur
  • IIM Shillong
  • IIM Sambalpur
  • IIM Nagpur
  • IIM Ranchi
  • IIM Kashipur
  • IIM Sirmaur
  • IIM Amritsar
  • IIM Visakhapatnam
  • SPJIMR
  • XLRI
  • UCLA Anderson
  • IIT Bombay–WashU
  • Harvard Business School
  • INSEAD

For each program, I compared:

  • Minimum work experience
  • Eligibility
  • Duration
  • Entrance exam requirements (CAT, GMAT, GRE, EA, institutional tests, or none)

A few things worth noting:

1. CAT isn't mandatory anymore.

Many schools now accept GMAT, GRE, or their own admission tests. Some don't require any standardized test at all.

2. Experience requirements vary wildly.

Some programs accept candidates with 2–3 years of experience, while others like Harvard SELP, INSEAD ILPSE, and ISB PGP MAX are clearly designed for professionals with 10+ years.

3. Every IIM has taken a different approach.

There's no standard "Executive MBA" model anymore.

Some offer:

  • Weekend classes
  • Hybrid/blended learning
  • Modular formats
  • Full residential modules
  • Their own entrance tests (IAT, EMAT, IMAT, IAAT, WE-MAT, etc.)

I've attached the comparison infographic for reference.

Happy to answer questions if you're considering any of these programs.

Which Executive MBA are you targeting for the 2026-27 intake, and why?

I'd also love to know if I missed any credible working professional MBA programs that should be included in Version 2.

Need Advice: Is an MBA Worth It for Someone Planning to Join and Expand Their Family Business?

Hi everyone,

I'm from Hyderabad and recently completed my B.Tech in Computer Science from a Tier-3 college. Over time, I realized that I don't want to build my career in the tech industry and have decided to join and help grow my family's business instead.

A little background about the business:

My father has been running a product trading business for the past 25 years. Like any business, it has seen its share of ups and downs, but it has remained operational and continues to grow. Recently, we took a major step by setting up a manufacturing unit and officially entered the manufacturing sector this month.

I've been actively involved in the business for the past year, alongside my final year of engineering, and I've genuinely enjoyed the experience. This exposure made me feel that combining my father's practical business experience with the knowledge and network gained through an MBA could help us scale and manage the business more effectively in the future.

Because of this, I've been preparing for the CAT exam for the last two months, with the aim of getting into one of the top 30 B-schools in India.

My academic profile is: 8/7/8.

I have a few doubts and would really appreciate your insights:

  1. Is an MBA worth pursuing in my situation? Since I'm not looking for a corporate job after graduation and intend to continue in the family business, will an MBA still provide significant value?

  2. Would pursuing an MBA abroad offer meaningful advantages over doing one in India, especially for someone focused on running and expanding a family business?

  3. If you were in my position, would you pursue an MBA immediately after graduation, or gain a few more years of hands-on business experience first?

Looking forward to hearing your perspectives and experiences. Thanks in advance!

Which test to submit?

Took the GMAT twice (first score was 595). Just took the EA. Disappointed in data (integrated reasoning) score for both. Clearly a huge weakness of mine. I come from liberal arts background (literature degree) so it took over a year to study the math.

Applying this fall… last years profile of schools for Wharton EMBA program attached in last slide.

  1. Which is a stronger submission? Logic tells me EA bc it’s closer to the average.

  2. Should I submit both?

  3. Should I retake either test? I plan to retake EA one more time to see if I can get above the average.

Thanks in advance!

Fellow Indians - This is an Executive MBA thread (EMBA) and not an MBA thread - Pls do not spam

Hi everyone — a friendly request, especially to fellow applicants from India.

Over the past few months, this subreddit has seen a significant number of posts seeking general MBA admissions advice. This community is specifically focused on Executive MBA programmes: typically for professionals with substantial work experience, often 10+ years, who intend to continue working while pursuing an EMBA.

An Executive MBA is distinct from a traditional full-time MBA, an online MBA, or a general part-time programme. Before posting, please take a moment to review the subreddit’s purpose, use the search function, and check whether your question has already been addressed.

General MBA admission, GMAT, profile-evaluation, and early-career programme queries may receive better responses in dedicated MBA or admissions communities. Keeping posts relevant will make this space more useful for serious EMBA candidates comparing programmes, formats, travel requirements, career transitions, scholarships, and executive-level outcomes.

Let’s help keep the subreddit focused, constructive, and valuable for everyone.

Jai Hind!
