Epiq Junior eDiscovery Technical Specialist pre-screen interview — any advice?

I have a pre-screen interview coming up with Epiq for their eDiscovery Technical Specialist Data Collections role and wanted to see if anyone here has interviewed with Epiq or worked in eDiscovery/data collections before.

My background is in cybersecurity and digital forensics, with experience using tools like Autopsy, FTK Imager, EnCase, evidence preservation, forensic imaging, and analyzing digital artifacts. This would be my first role specifically in eDiscovery.

For anyone familiar with Epiq or similar entry-level eDiscovery roles, what should I expect during the recruiter pre-screen? Are there any technical concepts, questions, or parts of the eDiscovery process I should make sure I understand beforehand?

Also interested in hearing what the day-to-day work is actually like and what helped you stand out during the interview process.
Appreciate any advice

Exiting Ediscovery?

Hi all,

Simply put I’m burnt out by this industry. Currently 33 and I’ve been doing this for about 7 years at this point working my way up from analyst positions all the way to project management for the last 4 or so years all at 4 different vendors. I’m finding myself dreading work everyday since moving over to the pm side. Anyone successfully move to something more reasonable work/life balance wise? Related or not. For what it’s worth I’m currently at 135k comp a year and I wouldn’t mind a pay cut…

Questions about being a eDiscovery PM in the UK

Hi all, I work as a Junior eDiscovery project manager at a UK law firm. I feel incredibly lucky to have this role but i've struggled with a few questions:

  1. What's the realistic salary ceiling for eDiscovery PMs in the UK?

  2. Is this experience portable abroad, has anyone moved to the US, Australia, Singapore, or Dubai with an eDiscovery background?

  3. Is it realistic to later qualify as a solicitor and specialise as an "eDiscovery expert" lawyer, or does qualifying pull you away from the technical side?

Would appreciate any honest insight or experiences. Thanks!

Is becoming an eDiscovery Analyst worth pivoting to?

Hi! I recently learned about eDiscovery as a career, and was wondering if it would be worth pivoting to in 2026 to try and become an eDiscovery Analyst. My background is in startup tech world as product support, customer success, and product manager. Also, last year I applied to law school and got in / waitlisted at a few schools, but ultimately didn’t end up going.

Looking into eDiscovery, it looks like it’s a good balance between law and tech. I was curious to get some thoughts on how AI is impacting the field, and to see if this is a valid career pivot. Thank you so much!
