I’ve played all the OG games and never encountered a shiny until Scarlet & Violet. So lately on my rom hack one I’ve been really stoked about hatching a shiny Ceruledge in Lazarus. Then encountering a shiny Wyrdeer and Rayquaza my same play through of Seaglass
Loved it! The shiny charm you get in the village helped a lot, ended up shiny hunting for four of my favorite Pokemon after acquiring it lol, as I initially didn't wanna spend hours/days per shiny. Might go for the legendaries too, *might*.
Overall, it was awesome. Playing with all the gen 1-3 Pokemon in my favorite Pokemon game with all the usual romhack QOL, and along with the polish and aesthetic of Emerald Seaglass, wow! Definitely gonna do post-game stuff and maybe do some monotype runs.

So, I was shiny hunting Rayquaza and got this while running multiple instances... I was pretty sure that shiny frames didnt exist tho, right? Isn't the rng fixed in this rom? I'm confused as to what things are dependent on actual rng.
Also sidenote, I love the green and black instead of the yellow and black, both are great but I never knew what I was missing out on lol

So kind of 2 questions in one here. How do you prevent super overlevel when shiny hunting? I haven’t even beaten the 2nd gym and my 2 Pokémon are level 22 already just hunting, when I walk into the 2nd gym it will be an absolute cake walk and I don’t find enjoyment in that, is there a way to avoid it? I know there’s a small built in exp reduction but I still find myself leveling while doing chains even with only gaining 5-15 xp per kill.
My second question is much simpler, can you get a shiny from the wishing well?
