Hi all, just received my FCX18 and was looking at doing some of the free upgrades i have seen online, however it would appear that the hex tool supplied is either too small or poorly made as it just spins in the screw heads.
I've been in touch with support who gave me a voucher code but were unable to confirm the size of the tool i need.
Can anyone confirm what size hex i need?

New to crawling here, I got my first truck (apex18) approx 2 months ago and well.. you know the story. So I’m planning a 1/10 build from scratch (chassis). But realize I need another rtr rig to build on while I’m building the 1/10 rig. Want something scale but capable. What better place to turn than the FCX18 LC80 which certainly offers both those things right? So I have a few questions for the guild.
It’s offered in 3 different color trims. Are they the same truck in different colors? I ask because the 1/10 scale offers the pro version which comes in a specific color.
Was unable to find tire size- what size tires you running on this?
Wheels, tires, inserts go without saying of course but what other performance upgrades should I order with the truck? Any weak points (structural or performance) to address immediately? Beyond that- top 3 upgrades to do off rip?
What size batteries are you running?
Connector type?
Will the stock system handle 3s?
Is brushless motor, esc, and 3s capability upgrade common with this rig or does the brushed system suffice?

My budget were 200-250€.
Want to buy an extra Lipo und maybe some other mods.
What are your recommendations?

Took some shots of the Sierra doing some crawling this weekend. Don't know anything about editing video and I just can't seem to drive and film at the same time, so this is what we got 🙂
I swapped the wheels with Injora 1.3s with brass rings and the Obsidian tires. They do rub a little but not enough to dig into performance any. I think im looking at a full on trail crawler though, I feel bad messing up the beautiful body on rocks, lol.

My wife got me a FairRC mod LC80 for my birthday Tuesday. The Nightcrawler. Absolutely love it. Well the next morning I broke the rear drive shaft. Thankfully I was able to get an Injora metal set from Amazon the following day. It's up and running again. This is my first crawler, and only my second RC. First one being a cheap Haiboxing. So my question is, are there any other known weak spots on the LC80 that I might have some parts on hand so that I can fix it right away? Or really any other tips you might have since I'm so new the hobby.
Showed up yesterday, haven't had a chance to run it yet but took some pics for size comparison. I threw it up against my WPL C24 and my FCX18 LC80. Good bit bigger than the LC80 and even a bit longer than the C24. Looks great! Hard to get the pearlescent color of the paint to show in pics, looks even better in person. Can't wait to get it outside later today.
The brushless lc80 has got me hyped on going fast and sliding around. Im going to be shopping for a basher soon for sure! 🤙
Did someone order the drive shaft from Aliexpress or some other website? The original parts are too expensive in my RC shops in Poland. I want the plastic ones so they fail not other parts in the drive.

Got an e-mail a couple days ago about this one. Ordered one up last night, looking forward to it arriving.
A few weeks ago my son came inside from driving his fcx18 LC80 and the the truck was acting weird. Thought it might be low rc battery or receiver battery so put charged batteries in both.
After fresh batteries, his truck now only works in reverse and only goes for maybe 10 seconds and then the LC80 lights start flashing and then the truck stops working as if it turns itself off.
I have no idea how to trouble shoot the issue here. Googling seems to imply his motor overheated and his ESC got fried. Anyone ever have this issue? My son is 5 so when I asked him what he was doing he gave me a vague answer so im not sure what happened!
Any idea what to do? How do I find a replacement ESC?
