Took the Unimog out for a little expedition through the backyard jungle.
The terrain was much rougher than it looks — rocks, dirt, roots and plenty of vegetation. I love how the big tires and simple expedition-truck design make this thing look so at home off-road.
Still getting used to photographing it, but I think this one turned out pretty close to the real thing.
Backing the Ripper down this jagged rock pile today to test the articulation. Throttle control felt decent, and the suspension handled the uneven drop-offs well without rolling.
Sometimes the best off-road adventures happen in miniature. Took the rig out for some trail riding and rock crawling, and it handled the technical lines flawlessly. Whether it was navigating deep rock crevasses or pushing through the tall brush, the suspension geometry and those Injora Maverick tires provided all the grip needed to keep the momentum going.
I'm incredibly happy with how the scale accessories look out in the wild. The fully loaded roof rack and the mountain bike strapped to the rear carrier really bring the whole overland aesthetic to life. There is nothing quite like finding the perfect natural terrain to make a scale build look right at home.
Took my MJX H8E 1:8 out on the rocks today. The size and stance of this thing make it look seriously aggressive in the terrain.
Which shot do you like most?
Taking the classic Camel Trophy discovery out of the rainforest and into the urban wild! There is nothing quite like finding the perfect technical rock lines right in the city's backyard. The scale details on this rig look absolutely incredible against the concrete skyline.
Took the sub-micro out on some natural rock formations today. Hard to beat the realism of the SCX30 platform when you get it out in the dirt.
Punching way above its weight class. This little rig tackles rough terrain surprisingly well for its size.
The LDRAC X43 might be tiny, but put it on some real rocks and suddenly the trail looks enormous. 🪨🌿
These little crawlers make everyday terrain feel like a serious off-road expedition.
No speed, no rushing—just picking a line and letting the crawler work its way through the rocks.
Yikong 4107 Performance Edition.
Took out my Yikong 4107PE Performance Edition for some proper rock crawling today. The articulation, ground clearance, and overall stance are seriously impressive.
Really happy with how this thing performs on rough terrain.
Took the RGT Pioneer II PRO out on the rocks right as the rain started coming down. The water beading across the hood and windshield paired with the evening city lights made the truck look remarkably realistic.
The factory brushless outrunner had zero trouble finding smooth, low-speed control on the slick surfaces, and the portal clearance came in handy working up the steeper lines. The 2-speed trans made moving between technical rock spots quick and effortless.
Who else prefers taking their crawlers out in wet and stormy conditions over clear weather?

Took my RGT Shooter Pro out for an evening trail run and managed to get some shots while the sky was turning dark. The blue-and-white body, big tires and headlights look so good against the rocks.

Took the FMS FCX24M Ranger Rover out for an expedition run.
From pushing through dense vegetation at dusk to crawling over loose rock and barren terrain, this little truck got a taste of both jungle and desert.
The headlights were especially fun once the light started fading. 🔦
One FCX24M. Two environments. One proper expedition.
Took the HobbyPlus Rock Van out onto the rocks again around sunset, and this thing just keeps looking better in its natural habitat.
The roof rack, recovery gear, lights and all that rocky terrain make it feel less like an RC and more like a tiny expedition van.
Definitely one of those trucks that makes you want to keep driving until it gets dark.
