Are these abs or is it just bodyfat?

I’m a cis woman at around 30% bf so I feel like it can’t be real abs, but it kinda looks like them?

Do you have one specific food that always leads to a great workout?

I feel like tuna sandwiches are some kind of not really talked about pre-workout meal. I’ve noticed that whenever I eat a tuna sandwich before a workout class, I almost always have an amazing workout. I feel more energized, stronger, and my sessions just seem to go better overall.

It’s happened enough times now that I’m actually starting to save my tuna sandwiches for my hardest training days because I don’t want to “waste” them on rest days.

I know it could just be coincidence, but I’m curious if there’s actually a reason behind it. Is it the protein? The carbs from the bread? Or is it just my brain associating tuna sandwiches with good workouts?

Has anyone else experienced this with tuna sandwiches or another specific pre-workout meal?

Pull up progress

Took the advice of the sub and have started using resistance bands.

My negatives are getting better as well.

Am probably still a while away, but any further tips to be able to do a clean unassisted pull up?

My first fitness photoshoot after months of trusting the process

Im 16 and wanted to share my first post here because I'm really proud of how far I've come.

These are my before and after photos from my first fitness photoshoot.

Before starting this journey, I'd lost weight before, but I always seemed to hit the same wall. The only way I could make more progress was by eating very little and doing loads of cardio, which just wasn't sustainable.

Working with my PT completely changed how I looked at things. Instead of trying to lose more weight straight away, we focused on building muscle first. We slowly increased my calories, trained hard, and trusted the process. It was honestly scary at first because it felt like the opposite of everything I'd done before, but I'm so glad I stuck with it.

After months of consistency, hard work and showing up even when motivation wasn't there, I decided to do my first fitness photoshoot.

I'm honestly blown away by the results. I never imagined I'd build shoulders, arms, back, and glutes like this. Looking back at where I started compared to now makes me so proud.

Edit: I'm 16 so stop the creepy DMS

I know I'm not fit, and I'm working on it. I joined a gym 2 months ago, and every single day has been a challenge. Some days I wonder if it's even possible to get fit in my late 40s, but I'm not giving up. It may take time, but I'll keep showing up. 😤

Do I look like I lift? I feel like my arms look small from the front unless I flex.

I've been lifting for 5 years and I'd consider myself intermediate. My arms are definitely strong , and I go quite heavy for bicep cable curls, tricep pushdowms and other arm exercises. I run an Upper/Lower split and train arms twice a week with progressive overload. I train near or at failure and don't treat arm work as an afterthought. However, when I'm in a t shirt, I feel like my arms look small from the front, like I don't even lift. It's only when I flex that you can clearly see that I work out.

I'm naturally tall and skinny and it took me a lot of time and effort to develop this physique. However I still feel unsatisfied with how my arms look from the front when I'm not flexing. I don't even have any visible bicep veins despite being very lean. Is it just genetics? Am I cursed with having a sleeper build or is there something I can do to make my arms look more aesthetic?

(Pic 1 is from the front unflexed, and Pic 2 is from the side while flexing. Both pics taken without a pump.)
