Which episode/scene never fails to make you cry?
Curious.
Curious.
I think throughout FNL the best relationship is between Smash and Coach.
Coach literally put his job at high risk so that smash could have a chance at playing post juicing. He mentored him throughout his obsession with Grady Hunts list, dealing with racism (both seasons), and overcoming a devastating injury.
His character growth is so well done in the series and at the end of the day coach kept his word and got him to college
Idk who did the casting for Joe McCoy but they did a great job. Every time I see that dude on my screen I wanna punch him right in the face. (The character not the actor of course). Is there anyone who is more hated on this show?
I watch Lanterns and have been keeping up with the talk of it online and everyone is really impressed with Kyle Chandler's performance of Hal Jordan – to the point that people are looking up his other work and a lot of people are discovering Friday Night Lights. It makes me so happy that people are starting to watch now
I feel like we are so used to seeing Coach Taylor as a leader, confident, etc. for most of the show while he is the Dillon football coach, so I actually liked seeing him for that short time at TMU. Where he was the newbie, his higher-ups sometimes dismissed him, etc. It added more human depth to his character and made sure he wasn't just the great, all-knowing Coach Taylor the entire show, even though that is largely what he is/what makes the show so good.
can't stand his face. why is he always sweaty.
Being a Green Lantern since 1996 that is, and being on a Football field in the pilot episode, it must be Friday Night.
This might take some time to compile and watching the whole show through again but the ones I've thought of, off the top of my head are
would love to hear from everyone else what moments got to you, made you cry, etc.
i don’t think other people understand who haven’t seen it that this isn’t just a show. this show was everything. It was small town, big dreams. It was messy, it was real. A lot of it was raw and real and improvised by the actors. The actors had a unique chemistry and bond over the years. they couldn’t imagine doing it with any other group of people. its coach taylor and Tammy’s southern charm. it’s Tim riggins smoldering, brooding, and jadedness. It’s so so so much. The explosions in the sky song that gets me every time.
this show is both a comfort show and the most inspiring and challenging show there is. I can watch it as a lullaby to go to sleep but I can also watch it when I want to feel something. theres something about watching that Texas sun horizon in each episode. It just resets my brain.
I love this show so much
Watched the pilot lat night, something about Kyle Chandler on a football field just feels so right.
Personally, I think those guys from Laribee would be a little less willing to get into a fight with him.
Just got excited and wanted to share.
So I’ve watched the show probably about 3-4 times already. Rewatching after years I’m halfway through season 4 and this chick is so insufferable I’m skipping through her scenes. So ungrateful they buy her a car she acts like nothing happened she hits this college visit and sulks the whole time. Don’t even get me started on how she’s not holding it down for 7
they didn’t have the FNL cover version on Apple Music so i made my own ..
this song makes me think of season 1
Season 1 and 3 were brilliant it's a shame they agred Smash out at the end of the first but okay, i get it.
Season 2 completely skip irrelevent and pointless will not affected 1 and 3.
Season 4 and 5 I enjoyed but seriously what the hell did they do...
point 1: Dillian was a football fanatic majority white texas town, with low black population which we see throughout season 1,2 and 3, when racial tension episode started, they were fighting in school, there was no gangs, no shootings and mostly words., which leads to point 2.
Point 2: How the hell did they expect to add a completely new area (East dillain) with high crime, poverty, gangs, and shootings... it was so unrealistic and almost felt season 4/5 should have been a completly new area, it simple didn't work adding it in (even though i enjoyed it)
Point 3: Dillian Panthers became nothing over night, even in season 1 and 3 they struggled to win games and always edging the game last touches, yet some how the Lions win the state in thier second season absolutely crushing the panthers, with ease......
Point 4: as explained in season 1 2 3 Dillian Panthers are one of the best high school teams around, attracting the likes of the mcoys (who vanish by season 5) yet the Lions with thier new ghetto school outclass them lol.
Seriously folks, how to watch this series (which is really good and i do recomend)
Season 1 and 3 (skip 2 it will not affect the show i promise)
Season 4 and 5 think of it as a completely new series as if you try to think or add it 1 and 3 it wont work. (Dillian did not have black gangs, a ghetto, shootings, mass crime it was a small white majority football fanatic texas town)
