Finally almost done

Just need to make some brackets for the bags and a few little things and it’s good to go!

Might sell…

I have a 83 that may become for sale.. it originally came as a RT but tour items were removed long before I got it,

I love the bike but it doesn’t get ridden and I don’t foresee getting the maintenance taken care of any time soon

I got it from a family member who passed away before he could get much riding done on it

It sat for 20 ish years in a packed garage pretty much ruining the paint and polish

When I got it I got it, I got it running enough to ride and put fresh tires on it
At the end of that season I purchased another bike to ride with the plan on redoing the shovel, I have since been busy with life and haven’t taken any time to pull it apart( it runs and rides, has new break pads, tires, the fuel tank has been stripped of the failing liner, carb has been rebuilt and cleaned,

It still gets started and ridden a couple miles per month to keep the fuel from going bad and tires from getting flat spots

I have 2”longer fork tubes for it to raise the front, have installed 14” progressive rear suspension,

It needs to have a few leaks addressed, it’s not pretty ( wouldn’t take much more than a pint job and polish)

I’m not sure what to ask for it since it is rideable but not turn key

It’s located in the dallas area if region has much to do with worth

Thanks for any input or insight

Late father's FXR. Thinking about selling to someone who wants a project.

So this is my late father's 84' fxr it, hasn't ran since the late 90s. I believe the rear head warped and its been parked in the garage as is since then. I still ride but I'm not sure if this is a project I am ready to deal with my current time and resources. What would an fxr parts bike be worth? Is it worth anything? Would restoring it even be feasible?.My mom would love to get it out of the garage im stalling her.

Fitment on 93 FXLR

So I’m considering buying these since I’m getting my bike painted and like the look of these, but on JP cycles website (and Dennis Kirk for that matter) both say it will not fit my bike, however the Arlen Ness website says fits all FXR models 82-94. Curious if anyone knows if these do in fact fit the FXLR Low Rider Custom model

Got my fxr going just in time for fxr Friday

Few months back my motor blew all its oil out of the base gasket, don’t have the time to rebuild it right now, so picked up a known running evo and swapped it in yesterday, first fire up got me all fired up! Will probably build up my original motor with some Jim’s lifters/ lifter blocks I have, upgraded valve spring heads, S&s oil pump, and S&s cam. Might try and find a twin cam at the same time, will swap whichever comes first lol

Bought this 91 and need some help with clutch, brake, throttle cable replacement with 9.5” pullback risers and 4” rise bars. I’m not around the bike to be able to measure.
