Maybe the haters are right about the display

I have never owned a flagship phone before s26 ultra. The last samsung I used was Galaxy A70 which had really awesome and sweet display. But on s26 ultra especially at night when lights are off I notice the screen is a bit dim and during the day too I notice the same. Maybe it's a setting issue? But yeah the privacy display sort of compromised the display in my opinion.

Regardless, the display is still solid and I really love this phone. I don't regret buying it.

Case suggestions for s26 ultra

Is there a case for s26 ultra similar to the sandstone case offered by one plus? Im trying to find something that's slim and has a decent grip.. the in-hand feel of the sandstone case by oneplus is something I love and am searching for something similar.

Solution for eye strain

Hey everyone,

like many of you, I was getting intense eye strain and headaches after switching to the S26 Ultra. I tried many options and finally found some kind of "solution" or rather a workaround.

Go to Settings - Display - Screen zoom and move the slider one notch to the right. This makes everything slightly bigger and forces a UI redraw. By using more pixels to render letters, the edges become thicker and smooth out the harsh micro-louver effect.

If the basic Screen Zoom slider makes the UI look ridiculously huge and you feel like you are losing too much screen real estate, you can fine-tune it to the exact pixel:

in Developer Options, find the setting called Smallest width (I'm not sure for english name of that). I set mine to 364 dp — this hits the perfect sweet spot, giving you a UI size right between the default 2nd dot (~384 dp) and the larger 3rd dot (~360 dp) from the basic settings slider.

Hope this helps!

Cheers

Just got my hands on S26U and I'm happy!

I was an iphone user for 8 years and came back to Android the choice was not easy I picked S26U although I liked the design aesthetic of pixel 10 pro xl a little bit more. But man! The way S26U has won me over. The absolute beast in any and every task, taking photos alongside my iPhone friends and seeing the clear difference (objectively better photos on Samsung)

However I just wanna know how do I maximize the device's overall life. It's in a Pitaka Case and a slim glass protector (I changed it from another glass protector which made it difficult to use the fingerprint sensor)

BEST CHOICE I EVER MADE

I'm so glad it decided to go back to Samsung. I love that you get to personalize everything down to the system fonts. Everything missing on other phones you will find it on the galaxy s26 Ultra. One thing I am unhappy about is them getting rid of the messages app.

Fast charging 3.0 options?

What charger is everyone using? I’ve been using an anker 737 GANprime 120 watt charger (since 2022) and can get super fast charging, but not 2.0 or 3.0 and am wondering what the best option for a brick would be. Currently looking at this one.

Want the fastest charging possible. With my current charger, peak is about 120% per hour

I've had a great battery life till I started using Google Home

Should I factory reset my phone and start over to see if that fixes it. I'm on wifi all day.

Prices go down temporarily after refreshing

Looking at the S26U on the Samsung website using perkspot I noticed that the prices change for a second when refreshing the page to good deals but then immediately they go up. I used to see better deals before.

Battery sucks?

Got the s26 ultra 2 days ago. Every time I plug it in, it overheats and slows down the charging. Used a Samsung 45W charger on my way home for work in the morning (working overnights) and when I plugged it in, it charged at normal speed, got hot and then slowed down. And when I got home the phone never cooled down. I went to bed at like 65% battery and when I woke up about 5 hours later, the phone was dead. Did I get a dud? This doesn't seem normal at all. I've asked a few different AI about it and they say that it can be normal for the first few days but this seems insanely excessive. Anyone else have issues like this to start? I'm not going to baby this phone with taking my case off and then turning it off to cool down every time I charge it. That's ridiculous for a brand new phone like this. My s25 ultra never had these issues, even in the beginning. Very frustrating, I was looking forward to this phone. Any insight?

Edit: so far it seems like this mainly only happens on the 45W chargers.

S26u

So I absolutely love this phone. It's my first android ever. I've been within the apple ecosystem since my first phone. The only reason I want to switch back is because no one wants to text me anymore because im green. Ive been removed from family group chats, sister won't text me because she doesn't like seeing the green. The apple users are brain dead it feels

Fast Charging Issue

I just got the phone a week ago and I've been having issues like this. First image is when I just plugged in my phone but after a few seconds, it changes the time until 95% even though they both say that a fast charger is connected. Anyone has the same issue or is it normal like this?

S26 ultra screen overall

Using the D-BRAND idiot proof screen protector:

its good and all but I feel like even with touch sensitivity on, the s26 ultra fingerprint scanner and the overall sensitivity on 8.5 ui is so slow and sluggish. It misreads 3/10 times sometimes and I have to go and "improve accuracy" a lot.

I do think screen privacy gets improved with a screen protector on but damn when the glass screen protector

Is off too it's so bad and slow compare to other models...

Yalls thought or am I just tripping ?

Camera changing between lenses

I'm really annoyed, everytime I'm going to take a picture I see the camera taking a jump between lenses and it's so fricking weird, I already turned that shii off on all the configs I could find but It doesn't stooppppp!

Tell me there's something I'm missing and theres a way to stop this, is so annoying really.

I already downloaded the camera assist and turned off the automatic lense change BUT IT DOESN'T STOPPPPPPP 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

S25U vs S26U - CPU Benchmark (System-Meeter-Bar)

hi everyone, i hope you all do well!

i would like to ask you owners of the S26U, for your help. Its about the performance improvements of the CPU compared to the S25U that others and i own. Here is a little context:

I am a developer of an app called "System-Meeter-Bar" that has a build in CPU benchmark tool where users can check their devices performance, heat development and stability with it.
This benchmark is purely focused on mathmatical and memory calculations, compared to others that also use the GPU or copy-processes. Next to the issue that come devices cheat the benchmarks that are well known calculation-routines.

Well i would like to ask you, what the performance is you reach on your S26U, and its improvements compared to the S25U.

Current Benchmark-Results of the S25U:
https://www.app-smb.com/benchmark.php?type=1

If you would be so kind and help me on this matter, i would be very gratefull and this may also help others to get more info on this matter.

What to do:

  1. install the SMB:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.it_huskys.smb
(The SMB is 100% offline opperating and has no Ads included, something like that would manipulate the test-values)
  2. select the 2nd Menu-point "Benchmark"
  3. select "1min singlethread" and let it run for this 1min and make a screenshot of the results
  4. close the app via its internal exit function on menu point 1 (scroll down) or close it via the android minimizer
  5. step 2 again but select "1min multithread" and let it run for this 1min and make a screenshot of the results
  6. please share your results here with me :-)

? Why the restart of the app between benchmarks ?
Well i sadly fuggured out, that some devices detect repeated high-system loads and overclock themself as a form of "detected benchmark". Restarting the app in between clears that "system-load cache".

Thank you everyone so much for your help on this matter!

Launcher Advice

Hi, I've been on Samsung phones for many years and have used Folder Organizer as my launcher. It's long gone from the Playstore, but still worked beautifully on my S23 Ultra.

I just upgraded to S26 Ultra and Folder Organizer no longer works, so time to find a replacement.

Suggestions? I won't do Nova because of their ridiculous subscription model.

Shm

I just got the s26 ultra after having the s25 ultra and only trading it in for more memory I hate deleting and trying to see what I can save and don't. I been using the s26 and I don't like it at all, I always had a note since the 2nd and oh my God this phone it's just feels like any other phone even like an iPhone , it lost identity, the camera bump it's so bad , the round corners annoy me even the weight of the phone it's so off. Idk if anyone feeling the same way like me but I am debating so hard since I only paying $500 after trade in for 1tb. Samsung really letting me down 👎
