Hey guys, since those FCC filings just cleared a few days ago, I wanted to map out the solid facts we actually have right now instead of chasing wild rumors.

​First off, that ocean prototype leak from late May is still one of the wildest things to happen this year. A working unit with "Pixel Watch 5" and UWB/SpO2 stamped on the back literally got pulled from the sea near St. Martin. The physical sensor layout looks almost identical to the previous model, and it pretty much confirms the 45mm size is returning.

​On the hardware side, the big rumor is the switch to an in-house Tensor chip. If Google actually drops Qualcomm, it could change everything for background battery drain and processing efficiency. Also, the recent FCC documents show four model variants, and surprisingly, all of them have LTE registered. It looks like Google might be skipping the pure Wi-Fi models this time around, or just disabling the cellular side via software to keep manufacturing simple.

​I’m really curious to see how they handle the look this year. Are you guys hoping they keep the exact same dome shape, or is it time for a structural shift?

Hey everyone! Following up on the latest Pixel Watch 5 buzz—especially with the recent FCC filings clearing—I wanted to dive into what we know is changing and share my thoughts on where Google needs to take the hardware this year.

​As far as confirmed shifts go, the biggest change is under the hood. Google is finally moving to its own custom Tensor chip, which is supposed to drastically improve background battery optimization and handle on-device AI processing. On top of that, the FCC leaks show cellular hardware across the entire lineup, meaning they are likely dropping the traditional Wi-Fi-only option to streamline production.

​But looking past the specs, let's talk about the visual side. While the leaked prototype shows they are keeping the core shape, I honestly think it would be amazing if Google gave the design a truly noticeable upgrade this time around.

​Don't get me wrong—the watch absolutely needs to carry the undeniable heritage and smooth DNA of the older generations. That's what makes it a Pixel. But at the same time, it needs to feel like a completely fresh evolution. If they can tweak the aesthetics enough to give the brand a true breath of fresh air, it would give users that genuine excitement of owning something entirely new rather than just a minor annual iteration.

​And of course, as soon as the watch drops later this year, we’re going to run a brutal real-world battery test right here to see if that new Tensor chip actually delivers on its promises when pushing heavy custom layouts.
