Yoko dominates round 11, this time around! In my opinion, claiming some sweet, sweet revenge that she never quite got the pleasure of. :P So I am certainly satisfied with this vote! It was VERY close to a clean sweep, but there was at least one person ringing the bell for Thymilph, and I honestly love to see it!
Today is another showdown between Team Gurren Members, and I have another feeling on how this vote is going to go. Still, it is so interesting to see how the rankings actually end up! We've made it to day 11!
Ohhhhhh, it was a close one yesterday, Team Gurren! The votes were pretty close to being even! (Which, in the event of a tie, I am the tie-breaker, just to remind!) I was really impressed to see the Nia rally, and I saw some really great arguments on why each of them should win on this round! After quite the battle, it was our boy Simon who squeaked by and came out on top! Sadly, we say farewell to Nia today, but I have no doubt she would happily cheer Simon on, anyway! ;)
The pain is over, and today has a very interesting vote! I'm not expecting a certain Beastman to win, but... It IS a sweet opportunity to get some revenge for what thay big ape does. So! Let's see. Who do you want to move on, in the Tournament of Champions?

In a landslide victory, Dayakka mops the floor with Kidd! There was no contest, and we came quite close to another clean sweep, but we did have some Kidd fans in the mix! For now, its down with Kidd Knuckle and up with Dayakkaiser. Super Dad moves on to tier 2!
The brutal RNG is who you have to thank for today's disaster of a match! Deliciously cruel, I could not believe when these two popped up as a match in tier 1! Honoring the system, we now must vote to eliminate a favorite, no matter what! Good luck, Team Gurren, I don't envy this one!! I love Gurren Lagann to death, but one thing has been nagging at me. Why weren't there more combining gunmen? Not just the Beastmen's gunemn, but also some of Team Dai-Gurren's gunmen as well. Heck, it would've been so cool to see some combining Grapearls as well.
I haven't read the manga, so I'm probably missing out on some stuff.
Even Russio unfortunately. I made the "mistake" of saying I hated him on this subreddit and everyone came at me "you don't understand the story", "finish the anime and come back". I finished, I still don't like him. I should feel pity because he wanted to taste a bullet? He is a good character, of course, well written and an actual logical person in a group of insane people. But I just don't like him. Russio's n°1 defender leave me alone please, I don't like him and that's final, you have the right to love him, it's not less valid than my opinion.
Anyway.
It might be a bit vanilla but my fave is Kamina, it's pretty rare to see someone influence the story so much even after dying. The team as a whole is the best squad in anime history. Who is your favourite character?

It's my third time watching Gurren Lagann now :D! And i think the more i rewatch this series, the more i fall in love with Viral, such an incredible character and semi-villain.

Guess who's back, back again? Aro's back! Tell a friend, I guess. :P Sorry for the delay! At least it was for sorta fun reasons this time? Haha. I attended a convention last weekend, and if you've been reading my journal entries on these posts, I've had health struggles this year. It was a lot of effort to attend, and it honestly just took me out for a few days! I'm okay, it just drained the ol' battery to 0 and I had to crash. Didn't do anything but sleep for 2 days! Lol. Anyway! I come back right on one of the most controversial sets in the Manga, how lucky! Haha. I don't comment on controversy, so those who enjoy the reveal, enjoy. Those who don't, don't! Boota is a little monster either way, haha!! That's one way to get Yoko to do what he wants... It all works out in the end. But poor her! Not embarrassing at all! :P I get second-hand cringe from putting myself in this scenario. But what has he brought her to? Let's find out.
We officially move to the second wave of the first tier at day 9!
Cybela put up an honorable fight to Adiane! Better than some! It was a pleasant surprise in my eyes, as Cybela doesn't get much credit. :) Alas! Adiane wins, all the same! She is my favorite of the four generals, so I'm nit complaining! Such a fantastic villain! On to tier 2 for our very first full-on villain character! She is currently the only one to advance.
We are getting into the heat of it now, Team Gurren! Some tough choices ahead, so buckle up! Now you must decide between Litner Dad and snarky monkey boy! Who should come out on top for the next tier, in this Tournament of Champions?

Oh man, sorry about the delay, everyone! As it turns out, going to a convention only a couple days after feeling better from poor health was enough to press the hibernate button for a few days! I'm okay, just needed a bit of time to recover. :) We are continuing the event as-normal! It will just finish a few days into September is all. Let's get back on track!
