New Nia figures!
My 1/8th scale and prize figure of Nia finally came in 😤

My 1/8th scale and prize figure of Nia finally came in 😤
So I have three bettas (two of them are both in ten gallons and my other male is in a 5.5 gallon) and I really like their tanks but I still feel like o could improve them. I have upgraded them a bunch since I first started them like I switched all my fake decor for natural wood, I’ve added more plants, and I add tannins and almonds leaves constantly to their tanks. I really love my bettas and I want them to be happy but sometimes my fish act like they’re bored (they glass surf still sometimes).
So do my tanks look good or could they still be improved? Also the second and third tank both have giant amazon swords in the back it’s just hard to see from the wood being in the way and all the white stuff on the wood in the second tank is glue I went a bit overboard with it when I first set up my tank 😭
I rescued this boy about three days ago (yes I did buy him from a big chain store but I couldn’t leave him behind), he had pretty bad issues with his swim bladder and pretty bad fin rot (he’s supposed to be a crown tail I know it’s hard to tell lol). His swim bladder issues are gone and he’s swimming normally now but I still have to tackle his fin rot. Is there anyway I can cure it without medication, I’m a bit scared to try it since as I’ve previously stated in a separate post he was very much an impulse buy and I did put him in my 5.5 gallon that’s only been cycling for two weeks so I’m scared the meds might mess with the parameters since they’ve been perfect these past couple of days.
I know fin rot is caused by poor water quality but I don’t want to just rely on clean water and tannins because I’m also scared it won’t be enough. Should I try a salt bath and just suck it up and treat him with medicine or will clean water actually be enough?
So I have a piece of driftwood that sticks out at the top of my betta’s 10 gallon tank. I know white biofilm is normal to grow on submerged driftwood but this looks like mold growing on it and this is the part not submerged. I’m guessing with the lid on and the condensation it creates the perfect environment for mold to grow. I’ve seen some posts with the same thing but my main concern is if it will harm my betta or not. I am kind of intrigued to see if mushrooms will grow haha
Yes I know he’s flaring in this video because of the mirror but my boy flares A LOT. He’s always flaring at his reflection but he does stop also to take breaks. Is this abnormal or does he just really like flaring and is territorial 😭😭
I added driftwood to Sushi’s tank and oh my goodness the glow up is crazy! I’m so glad I made the switch, natural decor looks so much better and I can’t wait to see the water get dark from all the tannins (I did boil it before putting it in of course but just for an hour to keep most of the tannins hehe).
Unfortunately though no matter what I add to Sushi’s tank he never cares but I’m hoping with time he will start to enjoy it since it has holes he can swim through!
Recently I started noticing a single white dot on my female betta fish Onyx. I don’t think it’s ich because it’s just one dot and it’s been like that for a little bit now and I also haven’t been noticing any strange behavior. She still eats normally, still has a ton of energy, and doesn’t seem to have any other issues other than fin rot which I am treating with tannins and almond leaves. her water quality is perfect too with ammonia and nitrites at 0, ph at a stable 7.6, her nitrates are high at 20-40ppm usually but I do weekly 50% water changes and I’m currently in the process of adding more plants too. Is it just a scale or is it a parasite or anything else?
So yesterday I got this gorgeous girl from Pet Supply Plus and it’s been a little bit since I’ve had a betta fish so I’m not exactly sure if her “bump” is normal. I know it’s normal for female betta fish to have a more protruding abdomen because of their ovaries and she could also be eggy, but hers looks like it’s protruding way too much. She’s also having a hard time swimming horizontally, her tail keeps floating up. Ammonia and nitrites are at 0, ph is at 6.4 (originally at 7.6 but it lowered because I added some almond leaves to help her fin rot), and the nitrates are at 40 ppm which I know is too high but I did add more plants and I do weekly water changes of at least 50%
I got this gorgeous girl yesterday and I wanted to make sure she’s healthy. I know she has a little bit of fin rot which I’m currently treating with tannins but I’m worried she might be underweight and possibly have swim bladder
