White girl with a sew in 💅

I used 3 bundles of Indian wavy hair, 14 16 & 18 inches. I asked my stylist to use a net. It’s my second sew in. The first one was too long for my hair, so I bought a closure and used the bundles to make a nice wig. 🥰
Overall I am very satisfied with my sew-in, and really enjoyed the results. It was 200 with a 40$ tip to install.☺️

What brand of extensions is everyone buying?

I’ve had Bellami hair extensions for the last two years, but my new hairdresser said she can get me cheaper ones. But that being said she wasn’t able to order any and my hair appointment is in two weeks. She said for me to go ahead and order what I want, but I have no idea where to order my hair extensions and if I order from Bellami, I would have to pay full price.

What is everyone ordering and are they good quality?

I’m looking for good quality sew in extensions to last at least a year but aren’t gonna cost me 1k!

Extensions for damaged hair?

Hey girls!

Recently I went for my usual hair appointment to bleach my roots and asked if I could move towards an “ashier” blonde. While the colour turned out amazing, my normal stylists somehow managed to damage my long hair significantly, with such large clumps of breakage I am now rocking some kind of Haley Williams cut but with one section in the back that is significantly shorter.

To say my hair is beyond fixing with just a cut and style is understating it.

I want to try to get some extensions to regain some volume and length as my hair is now much thinner and is practically useless for anything except a low ‘pony tail’ (if it can be called that).

What would you recommend considering the significant damage?

Thank you!

thinking abt switching extension type and need recs!

Hi all,

I had 20-inch tape-in weft extensions that I just took out. I kept them in for too long (never doing that again), and now my natural hair looks horrible. I am going to get extensions again soon, but was thinking about switching to clip-ins or halo. The thing is that the extensions would be worn everyday, and I am not sure if clip-ins or halo are good for that. I included two pics of my hair with extensions and my hair right after taking them out. Any recommendations are very much appreciated 🙏💝

update: i was looking at halo extensions but I can only find 20 in but not any longer, and I think i want to go to 22 inches. Does anyone know why this is? also what is the difference between a layered or orginial halo?

Fresh water swimming with keratin bond extensions

I'm getting my keratin bond extensions tomorrow and was wondering about swimming in fresh water since most posts i see are about salt water and chlorine. I love swimming and would still like to do it as often as i am able to, so my question is: would I be able to swim once a week with my extensions in without ruining them?

Am I making the right choice?

I 47f have been getting ktips extensions for about a year now. I lost a lot of hair after I got COVID a year ago. It changed something in my body and my hair just fell out like crazy. I love my extensions. I like how natural they look. I also really like how I care for them just like my own hair. I wake up with them and go to sleep with them. BUT...I know they are also very damaging. When I get them readjusted, I note how fine and thin my hair is. I would like to begin my journey of regrowing my hair, but I am still self conscious about my hair being so fine and thin. So my solution is to try a halo. I ordered one a few weeks ago, and it matches my hair perfectly. It also came with two clip ins for the side pieces. It's very good quality hair. I paid $300 for a 20" halo. My natural hair is just slightly past my shoulders.

My BF made a comment about how I won't be able to go the fair, or swimming without my hair coming out. I feel like he wants me to keep my extension, but I truly think the best thing is to get my hair healthy again. I have been looking at the benefits of rosewater, rice water, hair growth vitamins and red light therapy. Does anyone have any suggestions? What is the best way to go?

Is tape extensions right for me?

I have thick, curly hair and got tape extensions about 2 months ago. Since then around 10+ pieces have fallen out at various times. I wash my hair cold, dry it on low setting and sleep in a braid. Am I doing something else wrong? Or is maybe tape not right for me?

Hacks for putting in daily

I want to know how people are putting their extensions daily. Not a tutorial, but more like - how do you have the willpower, what is your routine, what if you wake up late?

I am wondering because I start a new job and I want to start putting them in daily but I don’t want to be randomly showing up without the hair in one day and then the next day it’s back in. So if I show up day one with them, I want to make sure I can do it every day.

PLEASE SEND HELP (EMERGENCY!!)

where do I even begin….long story short I went to the barber today to get a TRIM. my mom reassured me that I was only going to get a trim. when I sat down my barber told me I should cut more hair or else there’s no point in this walk in session, but I adamantly said I wanted only a trim. I loved my long hair and prom is in a week, and I had my long hair in mind to match my dress. my mom also agreed with the barber that I should cut more, and he ended up cutting so much (more than half my hair gone, from my waist to a bit further from my shoulders). I was so pissed and I kept on saying “this is too much” but he wouldn’t listen to me. I ended being in such shock that I couldn’t move and just sat there and took it all. after it was done, I felt horrified and I am currently in SO much pain. the cut looks hideous and made my face look rounder and bigger and my hair became puffier due to being shorter. I am in so, so, so much pain. I cried all day because I felt so hopeless.

does anyone have good recommendations for AFFORDABLE yet REALISTIC and good quality hair extensions on Amazon? my mom doesn’t want to spend much to fix my hair so that means I can’t go to a professional hair extension salon, nor do I want to cut it more to try to salvage it. I genuinely feel so heartbroken, and prom is in a literal week. please do not tell me to iust accept it either, I really really cannot.

any and I mean any advice is appreciated. thank you so much 😭😭🙏

Added clip-ins after my silk press for some extra volume

I have really fine hair and it breaks pretty easily, so every time I get a silk press my hair ends up looking kinda flat/thin...

This time I clipped in some extensions just to give it a little more body and honestly I’m kinda loving the result. It still feels pretty natural but way fuller. What do y’all think?

What do i do??

I got sew-in extensions exactly a week ago, just 1 row, and am noticing the under/bottom of the “sandwich” side is coming loose. I havent washed yet, as I was going to on the 6 day mark, but am scared its going to mess it up even more. I contacted my stylist and she said she needs to “reinforce” it, I want to trust the process but should I just go elsewhere? I dont have thin hair naturally, not overly thick either but somewhere in the middle. Havent put my hair up or styled in any way other than a loose braid before bed, silk pillowcase, etc. my other concern is I dont even know how id ask for a refund as its not only uncomfortable but I also paid in cash. To make matters worse, one of her (pink) clips accidentally had color rub off/stain the top of the weft, not the actual hair strands but like the band part? And she said thats never happened before but that it should come off with shampoo. Just seems like I fucked myself over but I feel bad because I enjoy her as a stylist and shes been doing my platinum color and I want to give her a shot but maybe its not worth it. Does the application at least look technically correct and shes just under-experienced, or? Should i give her another chance? I paid $600 for the hair, + $550 for the install (which included my regular root touch-up and color matching the extensions to a cooler toned platinum)
Just looking for advice, very upset but I want to believe in her :(

My extension tape shows so bad

My stylist used white hair so she could dye it to match my hair, which I guess means the tape is white too. I tried using a red sharpie to try to hide it, but it didn't help. I got these because my hair is thin and I hate when my scalp shows, but now I'm self conscious for a whole new reason 😞

Any tips? This is my first time having extensions.

UK girls - I tried some colour matches today from ‘beauty works’. The closest they had in my salon was sorrento bronde, but the root is too dark. Any other suggestions? (Shade or brand) uk please 🙏🏼 it’s for my wedding

I love tape ins!

I’ve had them in for 3 weeks, and I haven’t had a problem with them. I love them, I love the versatility. They’re so easy to manage. I can’t understand the complaints at all. My hair is already growing with them. I got 26 inch, nobody can see the difference and my hair is like 20 inches. I did get layers but next time I’m doing 28. Atleast some positivity for tape ins!

How come my mom’s hair extensions keep coming loose? (Pictured on the second and third slide are of the loose extensions in her hair)

My mother has gone back multiple times to her hair stylist lady (sorry I have no idea what you call her, I’m not very knowledgeable in this aspect) to get them fixed, but this keeps happening. She left for another person at one point, with the same result, because she ended up coming back to give the first lady a second (more like hundredth) chance.

I have no idea why this would happen, and continue to happen. My mother is very gentle with her hair, as it’s thinning and she is trying to keep it well maintained. She even tried sleeping with a bonnet sort of thing to protect them better while she slept.
This can’t be normal but I have no idea why it could be happening in the first place.
I appreciate any help or advice if someone knows why this might be happening and what she should do, thank you!

HELP - From all of my fellow hair extension peeps

I have been wearing extensions for the last year and a half and am still struggling to figure out how to keep them from being so dry and tangly! I have gotten extensions from Bebonia, Bellami, and now Irresistible Me. I have tried so many different oils and products and am still struggling. They're all clip ins, so I need some guidance!
To my fellow hair extension friends, what is your routine with your extensions? What products do you live by? What do I need to avoid??
