Bad hair extensions or am i tripping?

Hello! This is my first time getting any kind of hair extensions and i decided on the sew in wefts. i did a full transform but am a little on edge. these are my concerns

1- my natural hair is extremely thick and the extensions are not so the weight distribution is very off for me but my stylist said if we’d gone any thicker my scalp would be bulging.

2- the spine of the extensions that are sew in have come up 3 times the first week they got installed. first time was the night of (2 hours post install) i went in 2 days later and she re did the corners saying it’s natural for the corners to lift. now all the corners are lifted and the last row in the middle i can fit a whole finger through. and it’s all VERY visible.

3- i feel like the top row of extensions are too high my natural hair won’t lay over it to hide it even though my natural hair is extremely thick.

am i over reacting ? i’ve gone in twice now and im scared they’re going to keep coming loose/undone after this grace period and i have to keep paying over and over. should i ask for another stylist refund or give them another chanc. it’s been 2 weeks now.

How do I deal with these curly extensions??

Edit/Update: I messaged my stylist, and she just now told me that she ordered the wavy ones on purpose, to 'give me more body', since my hair is fine. I'm a bit stunned because she told me none of this when buying , coloring, or installing it. Had she mentioned to me I would have told her I'd prefer straight hair. I spent $1,200, and I do not have money to purchase more new hair.

I have very fine, thin hair, and have been getting extensions with the same stylist for 5 years. I've always loved my extensions, they were always straight.

I bought some new ones for a longer length. I waited a few days to wash my hair after getting the color and installation.

I let it air dry, and then THIS appeared!! I've never had curly or wavy hair. The hair at the top of my head is straight and the rest looks like this!! I hate it. My stylist doesn't seem to care, and told me to put oil on it and finger comb it.

I just paid over $1,000 to buy the new hair, color and installation. I'm so angry.

I don't have the time or interest to flat iron it every day. I tried one day and it never really got straight and smooth.

Is this common? Do I have any recourse here? Would reaching out to the place where she bought it make any difference?

I hate looking in the mirror now.

Clip ins question?

Hi there! I bought some hair clip ins because I’m currently growing my hair from a wolf cut and I wanted to experiment with like a long tail wolf cut. I got the set and they cut them for me to “blend” but I don’t think it’s well blended.
In this picture it took me like 1 hour to curl and curl and curl everything so it looked cohesive and I can still see the difference. After a while of being outdoors they turn straight and it’s very obvious.
What’s the issue here? Not enough density? Too low? ): it’s my first time trying extensions and I can’t really find help.

Second picture is my natural hair

Help how do I change the colour of friends hair to get Extentions.

I feel like the colour is so close. Just slightly off!! Do we need to strip her hair back or tone it? We don’t really want to dye the extentions. Any hair dressers on here. ❤️

Ktip brand recs

Hi! I have had ktips throughout this year and have had the same issue with both brands I’ve tried this far. The issue is the shedding like out of control shedding I can’t stand it. I’m hoping to find some recommendations for brands that don’t shed insane amounts. I have done fancy best which granted i did re tip them without experience before install so it may have been a me problem and then i have goo goo in rn which i didn’t re tip just in case that was my issue previously and great the first week and now the shed it out of control. I’m looking for lower cost but I’m wondering if it’ll be impossible if i stick with lower cost brands to avoid this issue. I just have a hard time justifying the $7-800 price tag of the higher end brands for an extension that last 3-5 months. So if anyone has any brands they’ve used without issue please let me know! Bonus if the keratin is color matched.

How do you comb your extensions before going to sleep?

What kind of style do you use when you sleep to take care of your braids? I regularly do two braids

Is this normal?

I got my first ever extensions installed and went with IBE after researching the best method for fine hair that would be healthy and allow my hair to continue to grow so I could eventually (hopefully) “graduate” from having extensions. I’m really new at this, so not sure what is normal. The first pic is from 2 weeks after my install that was done on 7/24. The second pic is from today, 8/17. I asked my installer if the picture from the 2nd week was normal because it seemed insane to me that my hair grew so fast, but she assured me it was just growth and was normal. It seems to look much different now and the sparse “sections” have me concerned and I see little white dots and not sure if it’s product build up or if those are roots getting pulled out?? Before going back to my stylist I thought I’d ask for some experienced opinions! I’ll also add that these have been super comfortable, no pain, I can barely feel them. Just really want to maintain the integrity of my natural hair and not cause any damage. Is this normal?? My move up appt isn’t until the end of September and I can’t imagine how much more my rows will drop in that timeframe based on this! I’m honestly having a hard time adjusting to this hair so am also debating on having them removed but am trying to hang in there for at least a few months.

I’m loving this hairstyle!

I’ve had these miracle knots in for almost three weeks now and they’re still so good.
It’s my first time wearing bundles in over 3 years so I’m really happy about this experience. I
have had some tangling though but it’s nothing water, conditioner or mousse can’t help with.
I had to first wash the hair when I got it because it had a factory smell that I didn’t like. I was
scared that I would mess up the curls but they held so well through that. Almost three weeks
in and the hairstyle still feels fresh. Every day is literally a good hair day! 🌸🌸🌸

Is this K-tip extension quote reasonable? $3,300 for 125g

Hey everyone! I was quoted $3,300 for K-tip extensions using 125g of 22-inch Mongolian hair. Does that sound like a fair price?
I was also told I could go close to four months before needing them removed and reinstalled. For those who have experience with K-tips, does the price and maintenance timeline sound reasonable?

Extensions for girls with thick hair naturally

I have very thick hair. When I say thick, I mean THICK. I bleached it blonde for a year and it did not break or become thin once. I have very good hair genes. Despite that, my hair of course was damaged, naturally, from all the bleach and heat I used over the years. I have very long hair and decided after 6 years to trim my ends. This hair dresser cuts off almost 9 inch.
Anyway, I have not been the same. I don’t feel like myself and I’ve been crying non stop. My long hair was a part of me and i honestly don’t feel beautiful anymore.

Now my question is, what are the best hair extensions for people with thick hair? I never thought in my life I would ever have to wear extensions. I have no clue about them. I am also assuming I need at least 280g put in as I have so much hair. Maybe with my type of hair, it’s not even possible. I would appreciate any help. Yes I’m dramatic but i genuinely feel like I lost a part of me lol. I will attach some pics of my hair before and after. Last two pics are of my hair currently.
Even tho I know it’s still considered “long” it’s nowhere near as long as it was before.

Very disappointed with GOO GOO Hair extensions – questionable quality

I wanted to share my experience with GOO GOO Hair because I’m extremely disappointed with the quality of the extensions I received.

I purchased them as 100% human hair, but after washing them according to the care instructions provided by the company, the results were awful. I used sulfate-free products, lukewarm water, low heat, and a diffuser. I did not bleach, flat-iron, or chemically straighten the hair.

After washing, the curl pattern did not hold properly, the hair became very frizzy and uneven, and most importantly, the density is extremely poor. From around the middle of the length down, the hair becomes very thin and sparse, with almost transparent ends. They look nothing like the quality I expected from 100% human hair.

I also took a small strand to my hairstylist so we could test it. We bleached a small section, and it turned pink and started falling apart/disintegrating during the process. My stylist was also suspicious that the hair was actually human hair. He pointed out that the hair looked unusually shiny and that the texture was extremely smooth/slippery compared with what he would expect from human hair.

Obviously, I can't claim with certainty what the hair is made of based solely on this test, but combined with the appearance, texture, extremely low density toward the ends, and how it reacted to bleaching, I have serious concerns about whether the product is actually what was advertised.

I have contacted GOO GOO Hair customer service and requested a full refund. I’m currently waiting to see how they handle the situation.

I'm posting this as a warning for anyone considering buying their extensions, especially the curly/wavy ones. Please do your research and be careful before spending your money.

I’ll update this post if GOO GOO offers a resolution.

Has anyone else experienced this with GOO GOO Hair? Did their customer service actually give you a solution or a full refund?

Seeking raw slavic hair

Hi,

I’m looking for raw slavic hair — medium brunette, baby fine, straight. I need ideally a couple of packs of tape-ins, or a bundle of hair.

Also looking for someone in the UK, NY, the DMV area, or France. (or hell, the net is wide enough, so why not make it wider?) who can make me tape-ins in the future.

Does anyone have experience with a vendor that is reliable and will sell to me as a client?

To be clear: I’m looking for raw—never bleached, dyed, or otherwise chemically processed.

TYSM!

Highlights

Is there any hairdressers out there? They can answer a question so when I get my roots touched up for my gray hair and I have existing highlights my hairdresser always goes over my highlights and they get ruined. Isn't there any way we can make the highlights last a little bit longer does she just not know what she's doing and I'm not trying to be rude or is that just the way it goes when you when you get your roots touch up and you have highlights it just ruins your highlights meaning my hair doesn't look highlighted anymore. It looks darker at the roots because she's touching up my gray please help.

Have you ever thought about using wigs?

Having fake hair sewn into my scalp sometimes feels disgusting and deceptive. I feel like a fraud not to mention the time it takes to wash and DRY! I also worry about the state of my natural hair. Of course I love the look but I’m beginning to miss the feeling of my hair.

K-Tip Issue

I’ve had Bellami k tips for over a year. Confused what went wrong with my install this time? Is my girl doing the bond too thick, or wrong color, or too high up? It’s just this row. If my hair isn’t 100% clean (like wash day clean) they’re sticking out.

Tape extensions

Please could someone advise if this is normal shedding or it’s hair loss due to extensions. I am experiencing some pain. I love my extensions so much. I really don’t want to have to have them removed.
