What genres did you listen before either getting into hardstyle music or before hardstyle music was thing/was known?
I was really into house music, I still am but not as much.

They made their music more sanitized, still hardstyle. Created a full raw set for supremacy just to play there. 2 years of hosting Tomorrowland. The best hardstyle set in Tomorrowland history. 4444 being the perfect representation of hard dance as a whole? Multiple Hardwell collabs. Releasing the 4444 DQ set when they could've have held the tracks private. Darkest Hour, Our Church and the project all being top 20 tracks of all time. 3 hardstyle toty. Sold out solo shows all over the continent. The best reverze anthem of all time. A DQ anthem. The first spotlight artists. The artists that have ensured that they are never bigger than the scene that made them. They always make sure Sub Zero Project is always associated with hardstyle.
This may seem like glaze but these boys have grown above and beyond the scene, while they never left. They brought hardstyle with them, they didn't leave it for anyone else to promote. They are the flag bearers of our scene and I couldn't be more proud.
If there is anyone you think has done more let me know!
How do you tell artists apart tho?
Not that I care a lot about labels but I see an increasing amount of footage from hardtechno events but when I listen to the song it sounds like hardstyle to me. And ofc the other way around, it seems that hardstyle has a growing fanbase but a lot of those people in fact seem to be listening to hardtechno.
So when did this happen? clearly I missed a shift in sound?
i've been wondering about this for a while — why does the UK seem to get so little representation from the bigger names in hardstyle?
We’ve had some smaller events with artists like Sub Zero Project, and Brennan Heart is coming over later this year, but compared with countries like Australia, Spain, Sweden, Mexico and Chile, the UK seems to get overlooked quite a bit.
What’s especially strange to me is that the UK obviously has a massive electronic/dance music culture and a huge festival scene. You’d think there would be a decent market for hardstyle here.
Is it simply a lack of demand? Promoters being hesitant to book harder styles? The cost of bringing artists over? Or is there something about the UK market that makes it less attractive for the big hardstyle labels/artists?
Would be interested to hear from anyone who knows the UK hardstyle scene or has been involved in promoting events. Why do you think the UK gets so little compared with countries that seem to have much stronger hardstyle representation?
no bullshit or hateful comments, we're all here for the music
Another one, just have to express it rigth now. Still really hit and left with a deep void about it. I was thinking about the feeling of the ehole opening set with deepack, zany and luna.
(Small context)
From Quebec, french province in Canada. Knew jumpstyle via youtube in 2007-2008 and then hardstyle. A boring typical hardstyle fan story.
Been to Defqon.1 2012 and Dediqated in 2020. The last was in Gelredome, same bulding.
It’s ridiculous how deeply I’m grieving the end of something I wasn’t even there to see begin!

I think i will growl or les drums for me
Every artist prepared hard for their sets for defqon. I traveled from India and was hoping to see many artists. GPF on main, sefa on uv, Brennan hart spotlight, etc. I just hope GPF get their set in 2027 and there are no major lineup changes.
Going to decibel and staying at comfort camping this time, last year we went there with an orginised bus and had to stay wayyyyy back pretty close to SPAR and it took forever it felt like to walk to the festival and back.
But i have a few questions.
How much closer is comfort to walk from to the entrance of the festival site?
Can i buy a few beers at the decibel supermarket or only at SPAR?
And if i buy a couple of beers and snacks at SPAR or any shop at the lakeside can i bring them back in to comfort camping ?
Many thanks!
My favourite type is a clean, hard and deep...........
kick!
Exproz used to make my all-time favourite type of kick, which you can hear in tracks such as Back 2 Life (00:43), In Control w. Anderex (2:25) and Dreaming w. Adjuzt (2:22).
I find it hard to describe what I like about this. I think it's how clean they are. A lot of raw from the past and current OG raw producers use so much screeches and other type of FX in the kicks. Industrial type kicks have that as well.
The tracks that can scratch this itch for me seem to be mostly bangers from Delete (R.I.P.), for instance:
Lunatic (00:58)
Formula VIP (00:43) (some screech is allowed)
You might not think to compare them with Exproz' kicks mentioned above. But for me it's just silimar in the way it feels to echo through the whole room.
I've been listening to Delete's full catalogue, but if you know any other songs / albums / artists (maybe in a specific time period) with this sound, please let me know!

Hey guys!
I'm going to the Decibel Festival the weekend after this one and will depart home on monday morning.
My flight is at the Eindhoven Airport at 07:50am. Any advise on the best way to get there?
Festival shuttles to Tilburg only start at 07:00 am on monday morning so that's not really an option. Uber rides estimation is at 80€...which i wanted to avoid.
Does anyone know of any transport alternatives / shuttles / people willing to give a ride?
Cheers!!!
Is it only for Aussies? Why isn't Anderex and TOZA there?
