i've been wondering about this for a while — why does the UK seem to get so little representation from the bigger names in hardstyle?

We’ve had some smaller events with artists like Sub Zero Project, and Brennan Heart is coming over later this year, but compared with countries like Australia, Spain, Sweden, Mexico and Chile, the UK seems to get overlooked quite a bit.

What’s especially strange to me is that the UK obviously has a massive electronic/dance music culture and a huge festival scene. You’d think there would be a decent market for hardstyle here.

Is it simply a lack of demand? Promoters being hesitant to book harder styles? The cost of bringing artists over? Or is there something about the UK market that makes it less attractive for the big hardstyle labels/artists?

Would be interested to hear from anyone who knows the UK hardstyle scene or has been involved in promoting events. Why do you think the UK gets so little compared with countries that seem to have much stronger hardstyle representation?

just received my email .. still no information about refunded C&Cs though

UPDATE: i emailed customer services last night and received a reply immediately. I asked about a missing item from my orders as well as the C&C refund - i was quickly told to wait a few days to see if the missing item appeared, fair enough. but they once again ignored me asking about the refund. so i replied, specifically asking about the refund and have so far not received a reply

just finding it unusual that they dont seem to acknowledge it whatsoever. i dont need the money, im not desperate for it but its slightly frustrating that they wont talk about it

I am looking at where to stay next year (before options become available in October) and just wanted to know about the more expensive options on Sanctuary. this year we had The Who, it was fine but as we had all our luggage for a week away, room was tight

I have currently reserved a beach house at Europarks Bad Hoophuizen. i understand there is a shuttle to and from but obviously this takes us away from Defqon and means we cant go back and forth to the tent/cabin if we need a break

for us, music is the most obvious one. Atmozfears - Yesterday has been played an unhealthy amount of times. Last night at 11pm (Dutch time) we took the dog for a walk to a local lake, sat and watched a couple of previous closing ceremonies.

and we have been looking forward to other events. next years Defqon, Brennan Heart in November. my son is sad he missed 4444 of a kind and may of missed Project One ... so I booked us tickets to Sana Duri in Sweden (he doesn't know yet)

you know what, as I sit here waiting for the ferry to get home I'm not annoyed at the fact they cancelled Defqon hours after we all got there

what im most annoyed about? ... seeing last year's warriors get a Defqon Oodie as their welcome gift ... the year before, a Defqon Beach Towel

this year, a notebook and pen 😐 that's the most zero energy gift ever and it's gonna piss me off way longer than cancelling because too hot

so I have just woken up to the news. I was due to stay at Defqon like most others until Monday

My flights home are next Thurs as I was supposed to stay in Amsterdam for a few days to unwind afterwards. But the hotel is pay on arrival and we have no money to get home or pay for another hotel as we don't get paid until Monday

I have travel insurance via admiral but not sure what it covers

and yes, I know I'm stupid for coming with no money but I don't need shit right now, I need advice on what me and my son can do, where we can go, who to call etc

My son wants to go on the wheel, but when booking, it doesn't specify times? do we just show up whenever on whatever day I book for?

How strict are they in terms of luggage?

I have a suitcase and backpack. but was planning on also taking a holdall for food and drinks. I will happily sit with the bags in my lap 😂 but the bus transfer ticket says 1 suitcase or bag. yet I have obviously seen people with massive trolleys full of stuff

Panic ridden question, I paid my accommodation deposit last week. Everything went through fine, the link for it still shows as paid

This morning I noticed a refund in my bank for the fee, Qdance didn't accept it in time!

So now I'm in panic mode. 2 weeks before the festival, I'm worried that my accommodation is now at risk because they didn't accept the funds!

Has this happened to anyone else? I have contacted them but their reply times are all over the place
