Rate my Miniature Painting

My wife and I bought two new sets of the Heroscape relaunch and have fallen in love with the game all over again. We are teaching my young daughter how to play and she thinks it's wonderful too. Painting the models is going to take me forever, but it's also been an incredible time. Here is one of my favorite turn outs so far. Let me know what you think.

varkaanan swiftfang Pictures?

Does anyone have pictures of varkaanan swiftfangs from different angles? particularly the back side? I'm searching for painting references, but I cannot find images on google that show their back and sides.

Mildly infuriating: not fooling anyone

This belongs in r/mildlyinfuriating - but this is too specific. My fukkin X order mark came with a little bit of white paint on it: tried getting it off with no luck. It totally ruins one of the core game mechanics 💀🥀
I may have to spray paint them, just to get them to all look the same: but jesus Christ

Frostclaw Paladins "WIP"

The bottom left guy is pretty much done, except basing (as a test model) and the others I got to just before I do extreme highlights, but I wantd to move on to other models and not spend 3 more hours on just 4 models, so they are considered done for the moment.

I love the sculpt of the boxier ones (the bottom left and top right) but not so much the other two and I suspect two different sculpters were involved, giving slightly different aesthetics which is a shame.

My goal is to give the Heroscape models a paintjob that really show that they are fantastic models in their own right, as the prepainted versions really don't do them justice.

NYC 2026 Store Championship Was a Blast!

2026 Store Championship at Hex West in NYC was an absolute blast! A really good variety of armies: Bugs, Eiseneks, Pirates, and Revenants. No 2 armies were the same, but Mal and Pirates pulled out the win! We run monthly casual events too and I post here, on FB, and Discord. If you're in the area, stop on by!

16 Men, 1 Batchlor Party, 1 Heck of a Time

Teams of two, pre drafted armies. The map was divided down the center. Eight players on each side with no crossover. Two games happening simultaneously. After there were two teams left on each side, the center line was removed, and one game was played. The winning team: Orcs.

VC unit etiquette?

I see people talking about how hard it is to find the minis for the Valhalla Customs units, but couldn’t you just substitute with a fitting mini? Is that a party foul or something? I know how snooty people can be in these kinds of hobbies.

Isamu returns?!

Isamu makes his chilling return! Do you think he'll be everywhere? Or just another filler unit?

We are so excited to see what this means for contemporary.

What’s a good game size for new players?

I’m trying to get a couple friends into Heroscape with a 4 player game. Unfortunately it’s been a while since I’ve played. Does anyone have any suggestions for how many army points each player should have?

Revenant acolytes. Main target or secondary target for you?

Edit: autocorrected revnan to revenant 🤦‍♂️

Been thinking about what the best rule of thumb when facing a team that relies on having a team of acolytes. Do you think it’s better to just power through the extra defense of the buffed hero, or do you target the acolyte first and try to power through to kill the hero turn 2 and 3 before it comes back?

Coming back since 8/25

I’ve been outta the loop since August last year. Been in a better mood, so I’d like to dig back in.

What’ve I missed? And besides Heroscapers the site and FB group, what yt channels do you recommend I watch/listen for the updates I’ve missed and lore?

What’s the scene like in the DFW?

I’m just getting back into the game and am looking to try my hand at playing a bit more competitively. Any info on the scene around the Dallas area?
