An idea for a multi day Tournament with players loyal to a faction

An idea for a multi day Tournament with players loyal to a faction

Ok so basically there would be 11 terrain which are each connected to other terrains. (not physically, but if you have enough terrain peices you could, in theory, do that.) If your faction has control of a terrain, which each faction starts with control of one of the corner sections, they get to start with a treasure glyph on one of their army cards. The treasure glyph is based on the terrain they have control of. They can only start with 2 treasure glyphs, but the more terrain in your control, the more options you have.
This an example of the first round, but as the game continues, you'd have to consider who won which terrain section to determine what the next matches are gonna be.
If your faction lost while trying to get terrain, or while trying to defend terrain they already had, they don't get a chance to take it the next round. (and to keep things from getting complicated, i think some of the edge terrains should just be secured after a couple matches on them.)
I'm sure there's a lot of holes to poke in this as far as how to make it fair and competative. But i mostly just wanted to plant this idea in everyone's head.

Ice shot someone again, but let’s complain about taxes instead.

i genuinely hate that the libertarian subreddit are just capitalists who care more about the government taxing them, than the actual dismantling of liberties. I’m fine to have a debate on economics, but they close their eyes and cover their ears when the government is being authoritarian. I can only assume they consider the authoritarian act to be in their favor if they want to brush it off so badly.

In defense of Patrick's character.

He had a home office.
If I was a neglectful father who wanted reasons not to stay home, i wouldn't have one.

He started a charity for mental health.
This was before the trial started and people accused him of killing his kids. It wouldn't be a PR stunt, and let's be honest, if he didn't do it, people would start crying "he clearly doesn't care because there was no benevolent activity after the fact." It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation for him.

He publicly announced that he forgives her and asks the world to not treat her as a monster.
Call it minipulation if you want, but this most certainly had a favorable outcome for Lindsay's public perception.

No one who knew the couple personally came out to say Patrick was abusive or neglectful.
Unless Patrick was planning to kill his kids from day one with the expectation that the internet was going to go through his history with a fine tooth comb, there's no way i can assume he's been acting innocent all this time. Even Jeffrey Dahmer showed warning signs people could point to.

If the alleged reddit posts are his they show a man who is active in his wife's medical history and showing signs of concern. It sounds like he's just a caring husband.

"He shouldn't have left her if he knew she was like that."
First off, did he kill the kids? If you think the answer is YES, than that means you and past Patrick both don't think she could kill the kids. You have that in common.
If you think he didn't kill the kids but set up a situation where she could, then fine, i can't rule that out as intentional or not. But i'm sure everyone has made mistakes when trusting someone they love.

I also just can't hate this guy on a personal level. He isn't some lying politician or some shady CEO rich guy who profits off the misery of others. He just seems like a normal guy, asking normal questions, and making normal mistakes.

And finally; a good chunk of "suspicious activity" has been PROOVEN to be misleading and half-baked. People see a little of something and run with it only to find out a couple days later they were wrong. Well guess what? It's in the echo chamber spreading around still!

Do you guys think some of the traits are redundant?

Like I can understand, wanting a distinction between “knight“ and “soldier“ because they give different different vibes and you might want the distinction when it comes to certain synergy, but you have things like “leader“ “captain ““commander.” I feel like these aren’t really a description of what they do and what they aesthetic is and more of a description of their personality. And speaking of personality there’s also that issue where you might have a lot of personalities that basically say the same thing. “Distractive“ “ruthless“ “merciless“. They really just need one personality to say “this guy is unhinged and violent”
What examples of this do you guys see and how would you try to narrow it down? Do you think this might be the primary reason they’re starting to multi class?

What heroes would you put in a starter set?

Let me paint the scenario for you. It’s 2024 and you want to introduce new players to Heroscape. You want to establish most if not all the generals, and give good examples of what kind of heroes the generals are known for. You want to make sure that if these heroes have synergy abilities, it can work with at least one hero in the set. You want to make sure there’s no terrain rules for the heroes that won’t come to play with the terrain in the starter set. Due to budget restrictions, you are restricted to only 20 figures and you are encouraged to include at least two squads. Using only the contemporary heroes that have been released so far, who would you put in the starter set?

Will they ever make a new tile mold?

I’m kind of upset about the wood tiles. I was lenient with a lot of the other tiles looking the same because it’s “natural” but the road tiles were given their own mold to represent a man-made structure, why weren’t the wooden tiles given the same treatment?

I’m worried that if they’re not willing to make a new mold for the wood tiles, they’re probably never going to make a new mold.

help me find an anime

I'm not sure if it was an abridge. it had the same kind of humor as ghost stories.
There was a scene where a character was contemplating telling on a teacher to get a settlement and another character told them to get a job. The same character also mentioned drawing for money and the other character said they couldn't draw. They talked like valley girls.

Xenithrax is too big.

And I’m saying this as someone who thinks queen Maladrix is fine. I don’t mind characters taking up more space to add some kind of debuff to make up for power, but who actually plays her? I assume the average person doesn’t bother because of how inconvenient her tails are.

do you think they could redesign her someday?

Secrets of the Citadel feels more like heroscape than age of annihilation did

I’m really excited. Seeing all these heroes that feel more like the original game. Age of annihilation kind of felt like it was obligated to be different. I’m happy that it was successful enough for them to start feeling comfortable easing back into familiar territory and even providing us with old characters and remastered versions of old units. I’m hoping they bring back units from the rise of the Valkyrie starter set.

Are right-leaning GenZs still Trump supporters?

According to some polls, a good chunk of you voted Republican, despite the trend that newer generations are leaning more left/progressive. to those that voted Republican, do you still feel like Trump was the right choice? Do you feel like you might’ve been tricked?

i’m not interested in shaming you, so I’m going to ask ahead of time that no one get smug in the comments

I got the DnD set!

I was really worried I wouldn’t. i got it last minute when I heard it was retiring, and other people who ordered it before me got a refund. I really wasn’t expecting to get it. Luck of the draw I guess. My condolences to anyone who will have to buy from third party

Is it nostalgia, or racism?

Is it safe to assume that someone flying the old flag on their pickup is racist?

like what does that flag even represent for MS? That we were part of a failed coup? The new one at least looks original.

What two colors represent a franchise best?

I want to make decks based around a franchise. But a lot of these franchises come in more than 2 colors. What colors best suit movies like Emperors new groove, treasure planet, and Atlantis? Not just looking for the most popular colors, but which colors include the most characters and plot points?

Omni-Man (Invincible) or Tatsumaki (One Punch Man)

I feel like Omni-Man would win as someoen who's lifted a mountain and moved a meteor the size of texas. But i know Tatsumaki has also lifted heavy objects with her telekenisis like a building sized meteor and multiple large missiles. She also lifted rubble that was probably the equivilant to a mountain.

Idk. a lot of anime fans say it's not close and Tatsumaki wins, but i feel like Omni-man has done similar feats without showing signs of struggling like Tatsumaki has.

2026 United States Counterterrorism Strategy

The 2026 U.S. Counterterrorism Strategy from the Trump White House outlines an “America First” approach prioritizing
Narcoterrorists and Transnational Gangs
Legacy Islamist Terrorists
and Violent Left-Wing Extremists, including Anarchists and Anti-Fascists.

The strategy treats cartels more explicitly as terrorism threats tied to border security. It also calls for stronger action against governments accused of supporting terrorism.
It specifically calls out Joe Biden for being too soft on border policies and uses politically charged language.
It gives little attention to white supremacist groups compared to previous Counterterrorism Strategies.

For some reason I thought there would be more villain synergy in those colors. I mean it seems like most villains are green and purple. But I really can’t find many cards that actively encourage having villains in play.
