I just got home from the game to see my Dougherty Trojans team get their scrimmage win over Northside Columbus patriots 28-7 everyone was on their Assignments I got to see 2 INTs and our defense didn’t even budge also I got worried early when the away team got to the board and that lead didn’t last long so we responded fast and expanded our lead and never looked back.
My son is playing tackle football for the first time and I have a lot of questions. My husband and I don't really know anything about football and my dad hasn't played since college in the 80s so I don't know how reliable his answers are bc I feel like gear and such would have changed. He will be playing WR and DE or DL (forget which).
Does he need football gloves? He hates wearing batters gloves for baseball bc his hands get warm easily so he didn't want these unless needed. Does he need a football girdle that he is always supposed to wear or just certain times? Does he just need to wear a cup for games and when his practice schedule says full gear or should he wear it all the time? He is supposed to wear padded pants at every practice? I wanted him to wear a guardian cap on his helmet, would that most likely be allowed? I know research is questionable but, still curious. So far he has padded/belted football pants, cleats, mouth guard, cup and then uniform from school. What else should I get? He started late (miscommunication from the school) so I am not sure if the coach gave more info or if everyone else has played tackle before.
I’m playing my first year of tackle football at a division 6a school (last two years 7a) any tips for building muscle and getting bigger I’d like to possibly start for varsity next season if possible currently we are graduating a center at the end of the year but there is a sophomore behind me who is far better rn and I do intend to go to our summer work outs during the offseason I play rt if that helps
Hi! My son is a defensive end - he's an undersized starter and we are looking for the best cleats for him. 6'1" 190. We bought the Nike Alpha Menace Strong. I don't know much about football - is this a good choice? He wants to be faster but I also know he needs good traction.
Hi. I'm a HUGE cowboys fan. I love football. I know how the game works for the most part, but I just got back into school after not doing it back in 6th grade. Im supposed to be a senior. Now I'm a freshman because I didn't do any school. Im in some accelerated program. I just moved to this high school with no experience. I'm 280 lbs , 5'8 and 17 this month. I know I'm really big but I do think football could help me lose weight honestly. I know I'm short but I don't want to let that discourage me. I really just need advice I'm stuck between do I do football next year, or do I do it this year. Part of me wants to be a bencher, Part of me doesn't want to do the workouts, I can't even do a pushup. But I know that It's gonna help me to lose weight. What do you guys think?? I would have to do twoadays which is really gonna suck but at the same time, maybe this is what I need. Please give me some advice on my situation.
For those who played (or are playing) high school football, what's the one play from your playing career that you were involved in that will be stuck in your memory forever? Game, practice, anything.
Hi! My son is starting freshman football soon and his games are on a synthetic turf field (assuming practices too). I am looking for football cleats for a turf field in size 14 mens and 2e for width. I literally don't see a single pair when searching online. Has anyone bought this size/style shoe from somewhere that can lead me where to look? Thanks!
