Non US resident and non US citizen with an IBKR UK account.
As per my understanding they shouldn't have been applying PDT rules to my account to BEGIN with. Pdt rules were not supposed to apply to international accounts.
Here we are with the PDT rule struck down and these fellas still applying PDT rules to my account.
Robinhood, Webull, Fidelity, Schwabb, ETrade, Tasty Trade, Cobra, Tradezero, Tradier have all switched over and these guys are snoozing.
Add to that the buggy platform and restricted ticker nonsense... Remind me why am I still with this broker??? 🤔
Hello, I have a margin account with 7.3K usd at disposal, but for some reason my buying power is 0 and my market value is only at 48K (my stock worth) when I should have 48k + 7.33k = 55K
I haven’t used margin in a while because apparently IBKR won’t let me to (prob because of full porting to one violatile stock)
So why can’t I use my own cash? I can’t open a ticket cause the account option is blank, probably a bug.
Why has IBKR turned off the buy button on this $STI today?
Seeing this more and more from IBKR these days. Yes it's wild buying stocks up 1000% but that risk should be the buyers to take or not take.
Also seeing a lot of orders on low liquidity stocks being capped significantly below the bid price.
Couldn't get an order in on $ABTS yesterday. Bid price was at 2.40 for over 10 minutes while they were capping my buy order at 2.14, effectively precluding me from buying in. Which is absolutely unacceptable. Faced similar issues on another ticker last week.
Not a fan of this sort of broker interference at all.
IBKR used to be extremely reliable in sending your orders straight to market at the entered price. That was the one thing they had going for them despite the clunky TWS platform.
Something seems to have clearly shifted for the worse with this broker.
Hello everyone,
i would like to start investing a lump sum of 10.000 EUR and buy WEBN Etf, and then later invest small lumps sums from time to time and i would like to ask which ibkr Pricing i should set, a tiered or a fixed pricing.
I have understood though, if someone invests small sums everyonth, below 1000 Eur, then Tiered pricing would be cheaper, I am right?
Thank you
Hi everyone,
I’m a bit confused about what happened after transferring a position and hoping someone here can explain.
I was holding KEEL Infrastructure Corp in Scalable Capital:
Recently I transferred the position to Interactive Brokers (IBKR).
Since KEEL is trading in the US market around ~$6 (~€5.5), I expected:
What I actually see in IBKR:
Where is the rest of my investment?
From what I see:
That’s a huge gap and I don’t understand if:
Has anyone done this? I added my funds, tried to buy Samsung but ended up cancelling cos the fast conversion fee showing in the preview was really expensive.
Indian Bank:
USD 1000 @ 95.68 = 95680
Commission 1050+ Gst 18% = 1239
Swift charges = 649
Plus gst on conversion
Total = 97568
ICICI
USD 1000 @ 96.23 = 96230
Remittance charge 1000 + Gst 18% = 1180
Gst on currency conversion 173.21
Total = 97583.21
More or less both seem to be same .Any other suggestions of banks which offer best rates than here inclusive of all?
Questrade is forcing customers to go to their pro platform for a monthly fee. Their pro is horrible, too much detail, very user unfriendly. Ther Edge is fine, been working for decades now, why change?? To make money from subscription, I think.
I'm trying to clear up a potentially massive risk regarding holding US assets (stocks and bonds) in a Swedish ISK (Investeringssparkonto) through IBKR.
Specifically, I want to know what happens if the account holder passes away. I’m looking for concrete knowledge or real-world experiences regarding these three points:
If anyone has gone through this, or knows a structural workaround (e.g., Irish domiciled ETFs) to avoid leaving a frozen, heavily taxed nightmare for the surviving family, your insights would be highly appreciated.
I have an opportunity to move my IRA account to IBKR. I would really like to do this in order to have around 20%-30% in a currency other than USD by having my base currency be in Euros and owning Euro denominated ETFs. However, I feel like
I am constantly reading complaints about IBKR, especially in regards to pulling money out. So how many of you actually like IBKR? How many of you have experienced difficulties getting your money back out of IBKR? Thanks in advance.
As the title says. Can it be done? Another platform to invest in options outside the US?
Is the exchange rate for US to Can $$ enough to justify opening an IBKR account? I’m wanting to exchange between 50 and 100K US. I can’t find current IBKR rates to compare. Has anyone compared this recently?
TD is currently offering 1.3655 for the exchange.
Thanks.
