What is wrong with my toe and can I fix it at home?

So for some context I think it’s an ingrown toenail that got infected. I soak it in an epsom salt bath once a day( heard I should do it 3-4 times) and I clean it with anti septic and then apply a triple antibiotic ointment. It’s been almost a week and I’m seeing little to know improvement so I tried to reach under and cut the nail my self that’s why it looks so haggard. Is it still possible to fix at home or do I just go to a pediatrician.

I need some advice for this toenail please!

I lost my big toe nail fully 10 months ago. This is what it looks like now. Is quite painful as the toenail is growing a little under the skin but not like an ingrown. (Maybe it is an ingrown I don’t know I’ve never had one) it hurts to touch. Should I just let this go for another month and let the body do its thing? What are your thoughts

Weird healing after the toenail removal

I got it removed almost 3 months ago, they had to do two incisions at the edges to get everything out. Took my antibiotics, did the follow-ups, bandaged as long as ot was required, all the stuff. Now the nail slowly grows back and my toe is always purple-ish in colour and is always cold, like there's not enough blood going to it. It doesn't hurt and I have muted sensation here, the skin also feels loose around the whole toe.

Is it normal, will it get worse, should I be worried?

Surgeon accidentally left in nail piece..?

Hello! So I had an incredibly painful ingrown toenail that was thankfully removed by my local podiatrist. He was incredibly nice and talked me through the whole surgery. Aside from the obvious painful numbing shots, the surgery went great and recovery went pretty well.

I’m pretty much fully healed (it’s been months) but I’ve come to notice a piece of growing nail in my quick(?). I took a picture to show… it’s as hard as my nail, and it’s definitely IN my toe as it hurt when I tried to pull it out myself. I’m leaving it alone now because of that- don’t want to cause any damage. I circled it in the photo.

Is this something my podiatrist accidentally left in..? Will I have to go back and get this removed?

(The indent in my nail will grow out- and the crack above is from me accidentally breaking it but I’m not worried about any of those- just the growing piece in the corner.)

Showering rules after ingrown removal?

I had a partial nail removal (one narrow strip on the side, non-permanent) on Thursday. My care instructions only say to do Epsom salt soaks 2x per day then redress with neosporin or betadine.

I feel like an idiot, but I genuinely don’t know: What am I supposed to do in the shower? Do I leave it covered if soaking immediately after, or no? Do I uncover it and wash it gently with regular body wash, or is body wash not really supposed to touch it?

I know this is a stupid question. But please help. :(

Photographic journey of healing after ingrown toenail surgery

I have been keeping track of my healing journey since I got phenol surgery for an ingrown toenail (both sides of the nail).

Podiatrist saw me yesterday (day 22 post op) and was very happy with progress. My toe has flared up a bit since but I think I have had a reaction to the bandage tape she put on me yesterday.

Progress from day 9 (when Podiatrist took off initial bandage). I take the pics every 2nd day after I wash it. You can clearly see progress from 9 days, 11 days, 13 days, 15 days etc.

Hope this helps people understand the healing process. I had the other big toe done some years ago with laser instead of phenol. The healing was faster but the result wasn't good (I had regrowth). This is why I opted for phenol this time.

Does anyone know what this is?

I don't know if this is the reason for my sharp pain in my big toes. I've had an ingrown toenail surgery years ago and this has been here for ages.

Thoughts and advice?

I got one of those $6 ingrown toenail kits that came with the little white plastic tube things, so that's what you're seeing there.

Before now, I've kept that corner of the nail cut really short to avoid pain. Annoyed by the one ugly toe, I've decided to try to grow it out. I think this is going to work, but right now it's painful enough to subconsciously affect how I walk. Any advice on pain management or anything else?

Granuloma removal advice?

It has been 3 days since I dug too deep on an ingrown and honestly the swelling from day 1 has gone significantly down and I can walk just about fine as long as my toe doesnt hit anything. The swelling used to extend to the corner and along my cuticle but that cleared up and all I have left is the stubborn side wall granuloma. I’ve been flushing it with hydrogen peroxide and applying neosporin and I’ve got it to scab once but the scab came off in the shower and it went back to red.

I did feel some relief nipping more nail that was along the granuloma but I want to shrink it so I can get to the rest.

My intrusive thought is to take nippers and just cut off the granuloma but not only will that hurt insanely, I feel like it would make the wound worse?

Infected Ingrown toenail advice

saw GP about my infected ingrown toenail and am on antibiotics but struggling to lift the nail, how do you do this? GP said it won’t need removal by a podiatrist? I‘m a little doubtful about that as the nail is pretty deep in there. any advice?
