Thought I'd show this off :)
I love this subreddit and see so many cool jackets here, but I realised I never posted my own, so here it is :)

Im trying to put some patches on thr front of my vest and am wondering what layout would make more sense, leave out msot of them and put only a couple on the top shoulders part, put them all on the bottom and save that space to just put a crap load of spikes, which I do want to put a crap load of spikes there, or split them up somehow with a couple on shoulders and a couple on the chest?
Made a patch based on the cover art for Fuck These Fucking Fascists by the Muslims, both of my parents have told me it can be taken in a variety of ways OTHER than a fascist being punched, thus they have told me I have to take this patch off/cover it if I want to wear my vest in public. I don’t want to take it off; I love the band and the album and the message, but how do I make it more clear the meaning? Thanks :)
Hey guys, I have this denim trench coat and I'd love some tips on which patches I should add. I’m looking for some political and social commentary. As for bands, I’m going to focus mostly on underground Brazilian bands (my home country) to support our local scene. I’ve already ordered some spikes and studs to finish the pocket and put them in a few other places.
The 'PUNK' patch isn't finished yet because I'm waiting for the studs.
PS: The last two photos are just to show the fit. If this goes against the rules, I apologize—just let me know and I'll redo the post without them.
Edit: It doesn't have to be just political or social commentary, any patch or addition to the "jacket" would be greatly appreciated
Finally got to work on my first battle jacket at the ripe old age of 40.
Still bits of space to go. What are people’s thoughts on overlapping patches and safety pinning the back patch so it can be changed?
Any feedback would be most appreciated.
I still have a killswitch engage, Metallica, rammstein, prodigy and we came as Romans patches to put on there.
Cheers 🤘🏻
Learned to sew for this, and happy with how it's coming along!
Pretty new to battle jackets but I’m pretty proud of this thus far :)
i thrifted a leather jacket and i cropped it i wanted to sew a haggus patch on it but the needle could barely get threw it and it just broke my thread do i just need to use sewing machine? and im 90% sure its real leather
The collar had ripped off in the back and finally got around to fixing it so I could wear this again. Back patch is couple things combined. If I remember right it was a Celtic knot design bandana, a shirt with planets on it, a Pink Floyd shirt, and a skull bandana i got as a reward for a solid last place in a skateboard competition.
Its nice for those chilly days and fits well over sweaters.
So i have a battle vest with a Slipknot backpatch, i really want to switch it out with a Wednesday 13 patch or something like that bc tbh I don’t listen to Slipknot THAT much anymore, I still love them! Also I was at Copenhell and I saw 2 PEOPLE with the exactly same backpatch which is cool I just want my battlevest to be like original idk how to explain without sounding like one of those who only wanna be niche, but the thing is I have a small patch that kind of is over the backpatch so if I change the patch I also have to remove the other one first which is kinda annoying.😭 I’ve also gotten much more into black metal lately I just have too many bm fav bands so I can’t choose one for a backpatch😅 also I know my vest is very empty I have so many patches on the way
Update on my (mostly) vintage vest. I’ve been trying to use almost all vintage pieces (mostly 60s & 70s). The back is almost filled in now, looking forward to wearing this for the holiday weekend.
What genre or theme would you pick? (except Black Metal, I already have a BM vest)
My daughter is 11. She's a wheelchair user and nonverbal, but she loves punk rock and makes very clear what she likes and doesn't like. The Linda Lindas are her favorite band, so I built everything around that and her sassy, smart ass attitude. All of the white-on-black patches are diy. The bank patch was signed by the band members at her very first show last year. She has a very specific criterion for what gets added to her vest (any guesses?) I'm considering it done, but there are a few spots open that I may add to if the opportunity arises.
