Ash Returns!! Also I changed my Mind on JonXAsh…. Hear me out Jon and Ash Should be Queer Besties!!!

‪Hear me out I think in the Main Continuity they should bring Ash back and make him 1 of Jon’s best friends! And I’m talking like that 1 super close gay best friend! Yeah maybe they flirt and kiss for a second but ultimately‬ they realize they’re better off as just friends! I feel Jon would really benefit from having a friend like that! No cause now that Nia’s proven to be a toxic energy vampire in Jon’s life, and Jay’s gone and plotting some takeover in his country ect, Jon Needs Friends! Ash would be the perfect friend outside of Damian for Jon! Being him back and let them be super close friends where Jon can sit on his couch and just bitch about life with! That is the dynamic! That’s it right there and if they wanna casually flirt and make out here and there but it’s never serious that’s fine too but I see the Vision!

Narratively Speaking Ultraboy/Jon-3/Superboy-3 is Much STRONGER character then Kid Jon ever was & has more Narrative potential then Deaging Jon Would

I know theirs a number of people who were disappointed with the twist that was little Jon being Ultraman’s son in the Superboy Event & I know the Kid’s overall fate is up in the air. That being said I feel personally Kid Jon would no longer work if he was deaged in this current universe, unless they did a full mind wipe it would be weird Jon has had to many grown up life experiences to just go back to how he was Pre-Bendis it’s unfortunate but true. However Jon-3 is technically the same person with a fundamentally different personality and view on life and the world as a whole the kid is more Jaded. He’s almost akin to Damian when we first met even as an adult Jon couldn’t bring himself to understand why Ultraboy acts the way he does due to his trauma despite their situations being similar that alone is so interesting. Idk I’m at work I can’t really go into detail but I genuinely believe the door is closed on deaging Jon but Jon-3 under a the correct writer would scratch that bitch and potentially become a stronger character then kid Jon, the twins, Chris Kent, ever was, the potential is there!

He just needs to comeback and soon!

Why I think kid Jonathan will always be THE main Jonathan

Jonathan Kent is a fairly new character. He was introduced in 2016, I think.

Anyway, from comic runs, the adult (bum) version of Jonathan Kent has existed far longer than the child version. However, I believe kid Jonathan will be the main Jonathan. Either he'll be back through retcons, new stories or a reset.

This is due to one fact that child Jonathan has over the bum version. He's far more marketable. Not just that but he's far easier to write.

Supersons has been a huge success in comics. So much so that it got its own animated movie. Absolutely nothing that followed after that holds a candle for Jonathan. Not new titans and especially not Superman: Son of Kal-el.

If we were to try to adapt anything out of the comics into a show or movie, I don't see a way to use adult Jon. He's too confusing. To explain that he was a kid but got stuck in a volcano and whatever in comparison to just going "he's the young son of superman" is inefficient.

So any money that Jon makes for DC will be as his child persona. Not only does he hold the superman legacy, easy writing and actual personality, he is much better to adapt and write. This is how companies will always think, with a money first perspective.

I think that we'll have to give it some time until a writer brings back Earth-0 Jonathan in the current story or we get a reboot/reset.

Not only that, but the majority of course also want him back.

So uhm... How we feeling 'bout Eddie?

So uhm... How we feeling 'bout Eddie?

Okay, I know I probably have some bias here as a Jon fan lol, but I’m genuinely curious what other people think about Eddie.

I went into The New Titans without really knowing anything about Red Devil beforehand, and for most of what I’d read, I honestly just… really didn’t like him. He came across as such a massive jerk that whenever he showed up I was basically just annoyed by him.

Then I got to issue #37, where quite a bit of the narration is from Eddie’s perspective and you get more of his history, and afterward I ended up looking into him more on my own.

And now I’m in this really weird place where I can actually rationalize a lot of why he acts the way he does. His whole attitude makes considerably more sense to me knowing where it comes from.

But at the same time… he’s still a jerk.

I think that’s probably where my problem with the whole “bad boy” thing comes in. I actually like the aesthetic/persona in theory. Physically speaking, the style is great. What I don’t like is when ‘bad boy’ starts translating into just being an asshole to the people around you, and Eddie crosses that line for me pretty frequently

So now I don’t even know if I’d say I hate him anymore, because I understand him a lot better than I did before. But understanding why someone behaves a certain way and actually enjoying that behavior are two very different things.

I’m curious how other people here feel about him, especially people who’ve read more of his stuff than I have. Did he grow on you? Do you think the jerk behavior is part of what makes him interesting, or does it bother you too?

Wasted Potential.

Conner Kent Better.

Beating a VERY dead horse but Jordan Kent kinda sucks revaluating the series. Like, he's so boring or annoying. Straight up either or.

I appreciate his character arc in season 1 but it feels like he kinda peaks after that. But after that point, dear GOD. Season 2 and season 3 honestly don't do much for him in terms of development: Like ok, he learns to control his abilities better. Learns to fly, saves superman, that's great but he doesn't change. His maturity gets stagnated by the entire sarah mess and that literally becomes 85% of his character. He is literally 007: 0 battles won, 0 rememberable good moments, 7 times he tries to get back the girl that cheated on him like a MONTH into their relationship (no idc if she's a teenager). Then there's the entire Samaritan thing and I MIGHT be reaching but Clark is kinda not doing a good job consoling Jordan's feelings of attention. Like, I get the show did a "eh-ish" job representing Jordan's mental issues, but I really think if the arc presented this as Jordan needing validation, then him lashing out feels more realistic than just teen stupidly. Speaking of stupidity, the entire Jordan heart thing. Jordan didn't think of a plan, didn't ask for help, NOTHING. He gambled everything on himself and failed. Can you imagine of jonathan's blow up still occurs but no powers or sam lane's heart isn't compatable to superman's? all of that being indirectly technically jordan's fault? There is NEVER a moment of anyone confronting jordan POST the superman revival about his decision. then he does nothing for season 4 except get beat up by superman and lex luthor. No I am not saying he suddenly needs to fight doomsday but c'mon man. I think the most frustrating part of his character is that it comes at the expense of jonathan. Jordan literally could be replaced by jonathan and barely anything changes but nope, jonathan needs to get his nuts dragged through the mud for three seasons. That's my reasoning for being so pissed. Jordan feels boring and at first, him disliking superman could have been interesting but he just becomes a fanboy. IDK, I get the series is over but just a bit peeved man.

Is Clark a good father to Jon?

With Jon’s latest story arc in Superman Unlimited, it’s clear that they’re focusing on what happened to Jon.

And that made me wonder just how good of a father Clark has been these past few years.

When Jon was a baby, Clark and Lois did their best to raise him well and normally, given everything that was going on at the time.
They also had a good relationship when Jon was a child and was developing his powers.

My issue is with the “age gap” Jon went through.
I don’t blame Clark for letting him go into space, after all, Jon was the one who insisted. But after his escape from the volcano, you can really see Jon drifting apart from his parents.

I mean, it’s understandable, he’s “grown up”but that doesn’t mean they should ignore how this might affect Jon. Maybe I haven’t read enough comics, but I don’t see his parents really trying to follow up on what happened to Jon.

Aside from that, it’s not just Jon, it’s the twins, too. I feel like I haven’t seen them lately, and let’s not forget when he didn’t notice that Conner was missing (in Superboy: The Man of Tomorrow)

I wish Conner and Jon had a more brotherly relationship

I really like the idea of Conner being the punk older brother and Jon the perfect little brother

Superman Unlimited Tease (He’s Haunting the Narrative)

Looks like Jon Is gonna be thinking about the kid quite a bit he’s probably trauma dumping to Clark about his failings I imagine.

Jon’s best on-screen adaptation

Made this little compilation of Jon in the Battle of the Super Sons movie to spread the love for an adaptation that is 100% bona fide comic Jon Kent!

Love this movie to bits, highly recommended to any Jon fan out there if you haven’t seen it already
