I would like information on what can be purchased without buying own. Such as oil filter, air filter and what oil would you use in Florida.

Quadzilla brings smiles to nearly everyone. some impatient folks lack the ability to appreciate her charms but everyone else loves her. this morning I got to see her as others do and I smiled too.
After waiting to finish because of rain and life it’s finally almost done! Next is just finishing up a few small bits and adding the electronics
Has anybody done either an engine-out or head removal job on their ‘99-or-newer Hijet?
My s210p Hijet started misfiring this weekend and it appears that the previous owner had a spark plug helicoil installed in Cyl-2…
I’ll be pulling the head asap and likely to be machining a new plug hole, but I can’t seem to find torque specs for the head bolts anywhere.
Anybody done a head gasket, know the torque specs or have any words of encouragement?
Ive owned mine for almost five months now, drive it everyday. And I just had a woman pull over on the side of the road where I was stopped and asked if id sell it to her. Just out of nowhere, I was so taken aback I probably looked like an idiot. Is this a thing?!
So i plan on going to look at a truck tomorrow, mainly interested in the subaru due to engine placement mainly, but id just like to know:
if the hondas are better?
Are they good daily drivers?
What to look for mechanically when buying?
What years to avoid or models like auto transmission?
What your general experiences are like owning them?
I have little experince working on cars but i am an aircraft mechanic so i know my way around tools, just want to know what i could be getting myself into, apprecaite any and everything
Not sure if these pics help?
Looking very seriously at a Subaru sambar. At the risk of sparking a political debate: what do you guys recommend as far as importing vs buying domestically? Tariffs and taxes seem to be pretty volatile at the moment and on top of that I’ve never imported internationally so this would be my first experience with it. Any advice or thoughts?
Hii everybody,
I am looking to buy a daihatsu hijet. I am going to look at one on monday and have some questions concerning the car.
I was told that its hard and sometimes expensive to get parts. Is there anyone with experience on this in the Netherlands?
Furthermore, the person says there is some rust on it. What should I be looking for?
Also it has a low km (around 87000) and is from 1998. Do you think they change it as I heard this is quite easy on this car.
I am thankful for any othere information or advice:)
I ride motorcycles so I get it when I'm riding but about 10% of the time I pass riders while I'm driving my truck, I'll get 2 fingers down. I'll wave back at them and I think it's awesome that people do that to a truck.
I saw these on an Autozam and was wondering if the group might have a photo of them on a truck? Better yet a set sitting in the garage collecting dust and getting in the way?
Been to a couple Cars & Coffee meets recently with my customized ‘97 Subaru Sambar Special! Interior and exterior mods done by me, as I am its first owner in the states.
- Seat covers and door cards from MiniTruckSeatCovers.com.
- Wheels and tires from Discount Tire.
- Steering wheel is Momo Prototipo with HKB Boss adapter kit. - New stereo and speakers.
- Corsair screen display custom app complete with CarPlay, Prime Video, Netflix, Steam, and YouTube running on small linux pc in glove box.
- New shift knob and boot.
- New automotive carpet.
- Black painted interior trim and dashboard.
- Repainted white interior body panels.
- GPS Speedometer
- Original exterior body paint but repainted front and rear bumpers black.
The nicest vehicle I’ve ever owned and cheaper than anything I’ve ever owned!
Edit: added interior close up pics in comments
I currently have this project ( EV Conversion) and I need the front and rear axle weight of a 5th gen suzuki carry, I cant do it myself because the unit i purchased had majority of the parts removed, i.e. engine and transmission, so as a last resort I went to reddit hoping someone may have data on the load distribution (with no cargo) of a 5th gen Suzuki Carry Truck. Any help would be appreciated
I just finished doing a bunch of work including rebuilding the distributor and carburetor. I tried turning the mixture screw on the carburetor but nothing changes. Im thinking my ignition timing is off because i forgot to mark the orientation of the distributor. Compression is 155 psi
Called him up yesterday looking for specifically Sparco wheels for my 94’ Hijet. 4x110 is a pain to find nice wheels without going with a 4x100 set. He had these in 110 so I made the drive up this morning. Super knowledgeable and overall really nice guy. Would definitely recommend for trucks, vans, and parts.
Should I have them re-coated? Not sure if I’ll keep the white.
Hey. I was wondering if someone would mind measuring their vamos rear hatch opening for me.
I am about to order either an acty or a vamos van. But want to make sure i can transport sheet goods in it.
Would really appreciate if some could do that for me. Searched endlessly on the net with no results.
Thanks
Now solved, it's a shut off switch for the battery connection.
