Man screaming at night in south central area

i keep odd hours so i’m often awake all through the night and like to keep my windows open in the warmer months. ever since the weather got nice, i’ve been hearing a man wandering around my neighbourhood screaming ‘HELLO?’ at the top of his lungs every few minutes. i live a few blocks from the hospital and i just wondered if anyone else has heard this gentleman as i’m quite concerned about him. i don’t consider him a bother or a threat, i just hope he’s okay and wanted to know if anyone knows his story/if there are any available resources for him. he’s out there almost every night and sounds quite distressed.

TW!! I (F 20) Am looking for community resources to battle depression in Kelowna

I have turned 20 very recently, but it seems like I can’t mentally handle it anymore, I have a lot of family problems and no trusted friend group since I moved to kelowna few years ago. I haven’t been clinically diagnosed with anxiety or depression as my immigrant family thinks of any mental illnesses as a taboo… I do have a partner of 6 months but I don’t want him to he involved in my health issues now because it is too much on him. So i am seeking help in finding free or low of cost therapists or something that can help me with my mental status right now in Kelowna.
Any leads on this would immensely help me, TIA!!

Couple visiting - tips?!

Visiting the area for 1.5 weeks (literally land in a few hours). Looking for tips and advice while in the area! Enjoy nature and beauty, which I’m confident we'll find all over :)

Any must do suggestions? Or only local knowledge? Additionally we enjoy unique experiences and of course good food!

We are a 41 mf couple and always open to meeting new friends! Any locals looking to meet new people and share some of that knowledge as well?

Comment or Say hi 👋

What's the best way to travel to Penticton from Kelowna airport?

I'm flying into Kelowna airport and need to get to a friend's house in Penticton. Is taxi/uber the only way to go? Thank you!

Fifa watch party @ park?

Does anyone know how long they're keeping up the big screen at waterfront park for FIFA?

The city website doesn't say when it's ending and was trying to catch the games today somewhere

Looking for a summer day off day trip to explore the Okanagan more. Do you think it be more worthwhile to go north and explore Vernon? Or south and go to Penticton...anyone have experience or fav things about these two towns? Also, whats the best way to get there without a car. Thanks!

Visitor looking to fish

Hi guys!
I am visiting Kelowna (the east side) from Sunday to Sunday for work and I am looking for some advice on how easy/simple it could be for me to get some fishing done :)
I don’t have access to my own vehicle and my time available is likely to be between 5-10 pm to do such an activity.
Any and all advice would be appreciated, and to save you the time, I’m aware I need a non resident fishing licence 🥲
Thank you very much

Three cut locks on one bike rack (at the walmart). Now's a good time to remind you all, cable locks aren't really locks. They're the security version of bluffing. They deter people who have no tool whatsoever, only. If that.

Does anyone else find the people who work in the optometry section at Costco to be quite rude?

I’ve been wanting to get new lenses for a pair of old frames that i had and decided to get them replaced at Costco since i got some cash back for the year. I showed the person my prescription and she started sort of belittling me and questioning me a lot because i guess my prescription is quite weak compared most people. I chuckled a bit as it was slightly funny, but also off putting at the same time, as i like the prescription for driving or reading things far away especially when i’m tired.

After we got over that part we started talking about lenses and they were being super nit picky about the lenses in my old pair i was getting replaced and was complaining on how blue the refracting was on the lenses. I explained that the lenses were for screens and they were from 2017, but again thought it was odd, as I was getting them replaced into transitionals, so didn’t get why it mattered.

Anyways i thought it was a super odd encounter compared to other optometrist’s places in town. I don’t mind when people are a bit blunt, but there little to no diplomacy or soft skills.
