I built the beginner piano app I wish I had when I started learning.

When I started learning piano, I spent more time searching YouTube and switching between apps than actually practicing.

I wanted one place where beginners could simply learn scales, understand basic music theory, practice with feedback, and eventually play simple songs.

That idea eventually became Piano Scales.

I'd love to know what features you think every beginner piano app should have. I'm still actively improving it, so feedback from learners is incredibly valuable.

Happy to share the Play Store link if anyone wants to try it.

I made a cinematic piano tutorial of Near Light by Ólafur Arnalds using See Music — slow and easy to follow

Near Light has been one of my favourite pieces to learn — there's something about the simplicity of it that makes it deeply emotional to play.

I recorded a slow visual tutorial using See Music so you can follow the falling notes in real time. Kept the tempo easy so beginners can follow along too.

Would love to hear if any of you have tried this piece or what you think of the arrangement. Happy to answer any questions about the fingering or technique.

Blind person wants help

Hi! As the title states I’m a blind person. I’ve recently gotten a keyboard like… a month ago. My friend has been coming over twice a week to help me learn but just to hang out in general.
I wanted to ask if there’s any resources specifically made for blind people where I could learn? I wanted to get to the point where I can compose my own music since I have lyrics that I want to sing to etc etc.
Except there’s like… little to no tutorials on youtube that’s accessible to me. They’re always the online piano thing and they never speak the note letters.
I found a website that lists note letters in a way that’s good for people who can see, but not me. Even my friend who could see didn’t like it.
I guess I’m just asking does anyone have anything that would work for blind people? I would really like to improve my skills. I know I’m a beginner and it takes time, trust me I know. I’ve been playing the bass clarinet for 6 years now. I just am asking for ways to make it work with me isntead of against me.

Built an interactive tool for practicing piano improv. Pick a mood, get the scale + chords, and jam

Hey pianolearning,

Music theory can feel like a rigid textbook, so I wanted to make something highly visual to help with improvisation improvement.

How it works:

  1. Select your Root Key.
  2. Pick a Mood (Happy, Sad, Epic, Bluesy, Jazzy, etc.).
  3. Instantly see your safe notes, interactive chord cards, ready-made progressions, and classic pop/rock song examples.

Cool features:

  • 🎹 Interactive piano layout (click to play or use your computer keyboard).
  • 🧰 Custom sequence builder to map out a backing track.
  • 🎙️ Built-in local recorder to save your ideas.
  • 🔌 Web MIDI support (plug your keyboard in and play).

It just runs right in your browser.

Would love to get some feedback from people currently learning to improv!
