i imagine view-monster/bill disliking most music artists except for weird al and TMBG. and MAYBE a few industrial rock songs but not that many. his favorite weird al song is “dare to be stupid” and his favorite TMBG song is “twisting”. he also listens to the wiggles and lullabies but that doesn’t count.

nature tapes/robert is probably into music artists like KMFDM, bloodhound gang, wolfpac, etc. he introduced bill to industrial rock and other sorts of tunes. his favorite songs would probably be “one way” (bloodhound gang), “stray bullet” (KMFDM), and “somthin wicked this way comes” (wolfpac). every day he listens to the american anthem at least once before he gets out of bed. (he has one of those race car beds. it’s awesome dude)

That’s me at the beginning of this YouTube video. I was 12 years old. Here is a cover of Ode to Crayola to celebrate! that’s my sibling screaming “WE LOVE IT NEIL, WE LOVE IT!!!” at the end :’) we grew up in Massachusetts, about 40 min from Kingston. we got to attend all three Lemonic Demonade events, and many other shows (Potter Puppet Pals, Imagination Summit). It was as great as you can imagine.

At this point call me dumb but I genuinely thought about it a lot and couldn't come up with anything other than the idea that our edgy workaholic father was trying to hang himself. I'm still 60% sure it is a suicide attempt but I don't know, it makes a lot of sense but also no sense at all at the same time? Because he mentions his death several times in the song and probably thinks about this a lot in his life too but he sounds more like he's afraid of dying rather than depressed and suicidal. He says he is going to work and keep earning money as long as he lives and it sounds out of character to kill himself, just for retirement? And if it was really suicide, Neil would mention this in commentary track because it would be the like most important thing about the song, it changes everything. But I cant think of any other thing that can make a grown person stand on a chair... Ok maybe it's just a phrase and it just means he sits in his chair in an office for long hours, my native language is not english idk please somebody explain it
