I thinking of dual-booting my M3 MBA for the public beta. What I would like to do is create a new partition on my internal drive, install the Golden Gate beta, restore my latest Time Machine backup the new partition, then install the new betas there as they come out. Can I have one partition on the beta program without the other partition being on the beta program? Or do people think this is just too complicated an idea. (I've done public betas before, and never had any major issues...just thinking of trying something new.)

I have a Mac with an M4 chip and 24 GB RAM connected to an external monitor. Everything was working perfectly before updating.

After installing macOS Golden Gate Beta 27.0 (26A5368g), my external monitor stopped working properly in Extended Display mode.

Here's what's happening:

• The external monitor turns on but only shows a black screen.
• I can see and move my mouse cursor on the external monitor.
• I can't move windows or switch Spaces/desktops to the external monitor anymore. It feels like the display isn't actually rendering a desktop even though the cursor is there.
• If I switch to Mirror Displays or make the external monitor my Main Display, everything works perfectly and the display is shown correctly. The issue only occurs when using the monitor as an Extended Display.
• Disconnecting and reconnecting the monitor doesn't help.

Has anyone else experienced this after installing the beta? Is this a known bug with macOS Golden Gate Beta, or is there a workaround?

Things I've tried (or am planning to try):

• Restarting the Mac
• Reconnecting the monitor/cable
• Detect Displays(by holding option key)
• Toggling Mirror/Extend mode
• Reinstalled macOs 27
• Resetting display preferences

Any suggestions or confirmation that this is a beta bug would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Right after upgrading to betav2 of MacOS 27, I keep getting the infamous "Your system has run out of application memory." pop up.

This is despite my system having more than half of the memory swap and memory itself free.

I am not sure I this has been posted or noticed yet, but the new shortcuts app with apple intellegice on macOS is the same as on iOS. Makes creating shortcuts really easy.

Oh yeah and just a small thing: IT SUPPORTS AUTOMATIONS/TRIGGERS!!!!!

I hadn't seen this on Tahoe so I assume its new for OS 27. No more helper apps and it looks like the complexity of automator is no longer needed -- in fact with Apple Intelligence running the automations and shortcuts it seems like there is a lot more options for triggers on both systems instead of locked into some predefined options by Apple. Just tell it when to run and it does.

I’m having a weird issue that I wonder if someone might be able to shed some light on. I’m a fully registered Apple
Developer. Paid the $99 a few months ago and have since published 2 iOS apps. So fully registered. This part is important to remember. Also, only one AppleID that I’ve used for years. Zero chance of the issue being a wrong Apple ID. The issue, I can’t see the Mac OS 27 beta or iOS betas being available to download on any of my devices. 2 fully up to date Mac’s (mini / m5 air) running the latest production version of Tahoe and an iPhone 17 pro max, running the latest production version of iOS. When I go to the beta section in software updates all I see is the iOS 26 / Mac OS 26 public betas. Nothing about 27. Anyone ever see this before? I have no idea what to do. I emailed apple developer support but who knows when I’ll hear back.
