24 days alcohol-free

24 days without alcohol.

Not some huge milestone. Not a life-changing transformation. But it’s almost a month, and that’s something I’m genuinely happy about.

For context: I wasn’t someone who drank every day. But weekends almost always involved alcohol, and during the week there was often a beer (or a few) after work. It was just… normal.

https://preview.redd.it/rqr2wegmrvhh1.jpg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7feaa4bb7344957d48fb0078ffde07e6822b836b

Now, 24 days later, Saturday looks very different.

Old Saturday: wake up around 11 a.m., feel groggy, eat junk food, scroll my phone, maybe half-heartedly think about the gym tomorrow, and start Monday already feeling behind.

New Saturday: in the gym at 6:00 a.m. after a great night’s sleep. A 45-minute strength workout finished before most people are even awake. The rest of the day feels like a bonus.

The biggest surprise isn’t just feeling healthier. It’s getting back the best hours of the week.

From 6 to 10 a.m. on a Saturday, the world is quiet. The gym is empty. No crowds, no waiting, no hangover. Just you, your workout, and an entire weekend still ahead of you.

24 days isn’t a massive achievement. But it’s enough to make me realize I don’t miss waking up hungover.

Launchie 1.5.6 - Customizable and beautiful Launchpad alternative - 50% OFF

macOS removed Launchpad. Launchie brings it back — and makes it more customizable.

Hi r/MacApps, I’m the developer of Launchie, a Mac App Store app built after Apple removed Launchpad from macOS.

Problem

Launchpad used to be a simple, visual way to open and organize apps on macOS. Since Apple removed it, there is no real built-in replacement for people who liked having an app grid, folders, and quick access to their installed apps.

Launchie brings that workflow back, but with more control:

  • Launchpad-style app grid
  • Folders and Spaces for organizing apps
  • Drag and drop rearranging
  • Keyboard shortcut, hot corner, app icon, or menu bar activation
  • Customizable layout, window size, columns, Quick Access, hidden apps, and more

I built Launchie because I personally missed that workflow, and a lot of users seemed to feel the same.

Comparison

There are already other good apps in this space, including LaunchNext and LaunchOS.

Launchie’s focus is slightly different: I’m trying to keep the original Launchpad feeling, while adding deeper customization and a more native macOS-style experience. For example, Launchie supports folders, Spaces, drag-and-drop organization, Quick Access, hot corners, keyboard shortcuts, and a lot of layout options.

I’m also actively developing it based on user feedback. Many of the recent changes came directly from emails, DMs, and comments from users. I reply to feedback, and when an idea makes sense for the app, I try to implement it.

Pricing

Launchie is currently on sale in August, with up to 50% off depending on your region.

US pricing:

  • Lifetime: $14.99 instead of $29.99
  • Yearly: $7.99 instead of $14.99

Family Sharing is supported.

Mac App Store: Launchie on the Mac App Store

Recent Updates

Launchie has improved a lot since the first version. Recent updates added or improved:

  • Option to show Dock above fullscreen launcher
  • Drag to Dock works now
  • Big performance improvements
  • Colored badges for spaces
  • Quick access has no a favorites row
  • Decide which displays should trigger hot corner.
  • Option to disable Spaces entirely
  • Drag and drop reordering for Spaces
  • Larger grid support, now up to 20 columns
  • Settings directly inside the Launchie window
  • Better performance when opening and closing Launchie
  • Quick Access improvements
  • More options to hide or simplify header controls
  • Remember Last Location setting
  • Better folder behavior when dragging apps
  • Improved search focus and keyboard handling

Full changelog is available on the App Store.

Thanks again to everyone who gave feedback so far. I’m extremely grateful for it 🙏

[1.5.2] Launchie - Launchpad replacement - Big sale

MacOS removed the Launchpad: Launchie brings it back - even better

In July there is a big sale with up to 45% off depending on in which region of the world you live.

https://preview.redd.it/l79ho44uwfbh1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=5067db3a4a0d7d3396561f41b7ade8b1460adfba

Launchie is almost there since  Apple removed the Launchpad from MacOS. 48 hours later Launchie was born - and improved a lot on the way. There are many competitors like LaunchNext or LaunchOS - and they're doing also a good job!

What's awesome about Launchie:

  • Core features of the OG Launchpad
  • Many customization options
  • Open via Keyboard-Shortcut, Hot corner, app icon, menubar
  • Use folders and spaces to arrange your apps how you like it
  • Drag and Drop to rearrange icons

Who previously sent me a mail or a DM knows this - I reply to feedback, I implement features if I think they are useful. I am extremly grateful for all the feedback I got 🙏🏻

Pricing:
There were a lot of critique on my recent pricing, so I decreased it.

Also new is the option for a yearly or monthly subscription if you just want to test it.

US Prices (other regions prices vary on the countries):

- 24.99$ Lifetime

- 7.99$ Yearly

- 1.99$ Monthly

AppStore: Launchie on Mac AppStore

Changelog (full changelog on iTunes):

## 1.5.2

- Added a Settings > Spaces option to disable Spaces entirely. Spaces stay enabled by default, and existing workspace data is preserved when the feature is turned off.
- Spaces can now be reordered via drag and drop in the main view, and in the settings
- Increased the maximum grid column count from 12 to 20 for larger displays.

## 1.5.1

- Added an option to hide the sorting selector from its menu for a cleaner header. You can restore it anytime in Settings > General.
- Added an option to hide the New Folder button from the launcher header. You can still create folders from an app's right-click menu.
- Added a right-click action to create a new folder with an app. The new folder replaces the app in its current position and moves the app into that folder.
- Added a confirmation prompt when moving the last app out of a folder, so empty folders can be deleted immediately.
- Increased the maximum Launchie window width and height from 90% to 100% of your screen.
- Added an optional Remember Last Location setting. When enabled, Launchie reopens to the Space or folder you were viewing when you last closed it. Find it in Settings > General.
- Moved Quick Access settings to their own Settings page, separating display and layout preferences from app management.
- Added a Quick Access row setting. Choose one row (the default) or two rows in Settings > Quick Access.
- Added a Quick Access menu for hiding the section on Root, in Spaces, in Folders, or everywhere. The menu can also hide the Recent, Most Used, and Newest mode controls for a cleaner layout.
- Fixed Quick Access Newest sorting to prioritize when an app was added to its Applications directory instead of its last modification date.
- Fixed search keyboard focus so direct typing and editing in the search field both work reliably, including standard macOS text-editing shortcuts.

## 1.5.0

- Added a new Getting Started guide that appears on first launch and can be reopened from the ? button in the bottom-right corner.
- Added a General setting to hide the Getting Started help button if you prefer a cleaner launcher footer.
- Launchie no longer opens the Spaces help automatically on first start, so new users can begin with the core launcher workflow first.
- Settings now open directly inside the Launchie window instead of a separate sheet, keeping the same background, rounded corners, and visual style as the launcher.
- Improved Settings on smaller windows with a compact section picker and better responsive layout.
- Reorganized Settings into clearer sections: General, Controls, Appearance, Spaces, Apps, Backup, Pro, About, and Advanced.
- Moved app-related options like Refresh Apps, Quick Access, Hidden Apps, and App Directories into the new Apps section.
- Moved updates, app version, reviews, and feedback into About, and moved reset and quit actions into Advanced.
- Replaced the window size slider with separate Width and Height controls, making it easier to resize Launchie from inside Settings.
- Pro purchase options now live in Settings > Pro instead of a separate purchase window, with a more responsive layout that matches your selected Launchie style.
- Pressing Esc in Settings now returns to the launcher more predictably, while hotkey recording still uses Esc to cancel recording.
- Fixed an issue where clicking Add to Dock in Settings could make Launchie appear frozen until pressing Esc. The action now simply reveals Launchie in Finder so you can drag it to the Dock.
- Improved Launchie opening and closing performance by moving overlay animations away from window resizing and onto lightweight content animations.
- Reduced lag when opening Launchie by keeping app grids alive between overlay sessions instead of rebuilding every item each time.
- Replaced per-item grid entrance animations with one smooth container spring, preserving the fly-in feel with much less animation work.
- Improved Hot Corner activation reliability on multi-screen setups by preserving the screen selected by the hot corner trigger.
- Quick Access can now be shown on Home, in Spaces, and in Folders, with onboarding and Settings toggles for each location.
- Quick Access now appears inside the scroll area by default and resolves recent and most-used apps more efficiently.

## 1.4.4

- Made it easier to drag apps into folders while viewing a Space. Folder drops now favor adding the app to the folder, while still allowing precise edge drops for reordering.
- Fixed an issue where reordering apps inside a folder while viewing a Space could replace the entire Space with that folder's contents. Folder changes now stay inside the folder, and the Space keeps its original apps and folders.

Hono + TSX + HTMX is my favourite stack right now.

Yes, no magic, no suprises. Dead simple. All server rendered, no big framework.

Since this one thought hit my brain I am bit of obsessed with this:

All of the JS has to be parsed by the client. That comes with costs. If I ship just dead simple webpages with HTML it's much faster.

I don't have to deal with syncing to states and all that stuff.

Why not PHP or Go or Rust? One library: Better Auth. It's just a amazing auth library and I don't want to miss it in my stack.

[macOS] Launchie - Launchpad replacement for macOS, Lifetime Pro discount

Hey r/MacApps,

I'm the solo developer behind Launchie, a macOS app launcher built after Apple removed Launchpad (you might know it already from other posts in the past).

Problem: Launchie brings back a Launchpad-style app grid for macOS, with folders, spaces, drag & drop organization, hotkeys, hot corners, and customization.

Compare: Compared to alternatives like LaunchNext or LaunchOS, Launchie focuses on feeling close to the original Launchpad while adding more control: custom spaces, folder workflows, Quick Access, different opening methods, and deeper layout customization. I also actively respond to feedback and ship improvements based on what users ask for.

To celebrate the latest 1.5.0 update, I'm running a limited offer:

Lifetime Pro is $9.99 instead of $24.99.

You can claim the offer code here:
https://www.promies.net/promotion/6360fe3a-1ae4-4565-99f9-e51b571b70d8

You can then redeem the code in the Mac App Store.

App Store:
Launchie on the Mac App Store

Recent 1.5.0 highlights:

  • New Getting Started guide
  • Redesigned Settings inside the Launchie window
  • Better performance when opening and closing Launchie
  • Improved Quick Access options for Home, Spaces, and Folders
  • Better hot corner behavior on multi-screen setups
  • More organized settings sections

Changelog:
Full changelog is available in the Mac App Store release notes.

AI Disclaimer: Code Completion

I’d genuinely love feedback from Mac users who miss Launchpad or care about better app launching workflows.

Thanks for checking it out 🙏

Did they made changes on the launchpad

Hey,

Haven’t had the time to look into it by running it on a VM or something and don’t want to install it on my main MacBook I use for dev work

Did they improve on the apps/launchpad or is it as bad as it is since Tahoe?

For transparency: I am the developer of launchie

Also I made a new feature that blocks apps by training ring, activity ring or step count (Apple Watch required)

I would love to have some feedback.

Launchpad alternative for MacOS - Launchie 1.4.3 released

MacOS removed the Launchpad: Launchie brings it back - even better

Launchie is almost there since  Apple removed the Launchpad from MacOS. 48 hours later Launchie was born - and improved a lot on the way. There are many competitors like LaunchNext or LaunchOS - and they're doing also a good job!

What's awesome about Launchie:

  • Core features of the OG Launchpad

  • Use folders and spaces to arrange your apps how you like it
  • Drag and Drop to rearrange icons

Who previously sent me a mail or a DM knows this - I reply to feedback, I implement features if I think they are useful. I am extremly grateful for all the feedback I got 🙏🏻

Pricing:
There were a lot of critique on my recent pricing, so I decreased it.

Also new is the option for a yearly or monthly subscription if you just want to test it.

US Prices (other regions prices vary on the countries):

- 24.99$ Lifetime

- 1.99$ Monthly

Family sharing is allowed

AppStore: Launchie on Mac AppStore

Changelog (full changelog on iTunes):

## 1.4.3

- Optimizations and bug fixes

## 1.4.2

- Added a new `Launch All` action for folders. You can now open every app in a folder at once from the folder header, with a confirmation step for larger launches.
- Added a new Spaces placement option. Space chips can now be shown at the top of the header instead of only in the footer.
- Fixed an issue where clicking the desktop would not close Launchie, even though clicking another window would. Launchie now dismisses consistently when you click outside the window.
- Fixed a Pro authorization issue that could appear after Launchie started while offline or briefly lost Wi-Fi. Launchie now keeps your existing Pro access more reliably and re-checks it automatically once the connection returns.
- Added a new Danger Zone reset action in Settings so you can clear all saved Launchie settings, layout data, spaces, hidden apps, custom directories, and folder permissions in one step.

## 1.4.1
- Added a setting to hide the menu bar icon for users who prefer opening Launchie from the Dock.
- Launchie now keeps running normally in the background when the menu bar icon is turned off, so hotkeys, hot corners, and Dock launching still work.

- Added new Pro options: you can now choose between Monthly Pro, Yearly Pro, or Lifetime Pro directly in Launchie.
- Existing lifetime customers are still supported. Earlier one-time Pro purchases continue to unlock Launchie Pro permanently.
- Added a new Quick Access placement setting. You can now keep Quick Access pinned above the grid or place it inside the main scroll area.
- Improved Spaces in light mode. Selected space icons and chip outlines are now easier to distinguish against bright backgrounds.

## 1.3.11

- App installs and removals now show up much faster in Launchie. New and deleted apps are detected almost instantly in most cases, while the regular background refresh remains in place as a lightweight fallback.
- Fixed an issue where some iPhone, iPad, and web apps could disappear from Launchie after adding broad custom app directories.

## 1.3.10

- Fixed an issue where non-app files could appear in the "All Apps" view when a custom directory pointed to a broad location. Launchie now validates each discovered .app bundle by checking for a valid Info.plist and filtering out background-only daemons, preventing system internals, framework helpers, and non-macOS files from cluttering the app grid.
- Improved horizontal swiping for Spaces and the root view, especially on the trackpad. Space switching now feels more natural and immersive, with better control to prevent accidental jumps across multiple spaces.
- Made switching between the root view and Spaces feel faster and more natural by tightening the transition animation and reducing the heavy bounce.

ASOKit - Track your rankings on the AppStore

Hey 👋

I built a small tool called ASOKit to track App Store keyword rankings for iOS + macOS apps.

https://asokit.app

I originally made it for myself because I was tired of manually checking rankings and wanted something lightweight and simple.

The free plan includes:

* 1 app

* up to 10 tracked keywords

That’s honestly enough for many indie devs already.

I’d really appreciate feedback from other developers, especially:

* UI/UX

* missing ASO features

* bugs

* what would make it genuinely useful for you

Still very actively improving it. Thanks to anyone willing to test it 🙏
