Branded’s resilience is genuinely insane. Been playing since this game came out and in terms of pure grind Ive never seen anything like it.

finally started playing it myself and its actually crazy how much utility you have. even deciding what cards NOT to play was crazy. never seen an archetype with so many good cards not being played simply because of how many great cards it also has

Konami needs to penalize players who quit when they lose the coin toss

Seriously sucking the fun out of the game for me what annoys me the most is that I always choose to go second most people I heard complaining about this are choosing to go first

IDK how they should do it maybe put a 3 minute delay or something like that when someone can duel again if they quit during the loading screen

Also to the players who do this like why? You could wait the few seconds it take to load into the game and give your opponent the win why be such dirtbags?

Hot take? Interactions should give you extra time.

I'm sorry is this is dumb and I haven't thought this properly, and I know "Master Duel takes too long" is also a pretty popular take, but one of the most frustrating situations I've found myself in as the meta progresses is that as boards become larger and more complex, I simply do not have the time to break them.

Like I know you get extra time on your turn, but when my opponent takes almost his whole 5 minutes setting a board, the 90 extra seconds simply for me to set my board + break his.

People joke Yu-Gi-Oh players don't read but how can I ever when I'm on a clock trying to figure out a way for my effects to play through my opponents effects.

Maybe it's just skill issue but it's really sad when I'm cusp of breaking a full Mayakashi board and the time runs out.

Or missing my chance against Branded because I'm in such a hurry I forget one of the requirements of one of my own cards.

Maybe it's a skill issue but man, I'm playing with these guys in gold, it's not like I have the choice.

This has got to be one of the most disappointing pieces of support

Hopefully they release some good traps

Seriously: is intendet gameplay?

This guy plays sky striker typhoon and this was his hand before he started placing his spells (that were negates, snatch my monster and negate, dodge an interaction, destroy my fieldspell and had still some cards left there)

I mean how am i supposed to play a game going second when i have 6 cards? Even if all of these would have been ideal starters, at some point the math aint mathing anymore. (And yes, sky striker is not the most toxic deck and it is beatable, but for a cardgame where actioneconomy matters, idk how this situation is seen as intended from konami)

Was this even beatable from my part? Sixt draw was a lava golem that was dead in the water

Normal summon ratpier is the new (old) normal summon doormouse

Tittle pretty much

normal summoning a card that is very hard to interact with, even harder than doormouse, generates a negate, a pop and allows for a deck to full combo into 8+ disruptions including a bunch more negates.

The current state of zoo was just a mistake tbh, specially in radiant typhoon.

Strange take: Master Duel feels both at its best and worst.

Okay, I know my statement sounds confusing and contradictory, but I just don't know how else it put it. Master Duel feels like such a coin flip (no pun intended) of having either genuinely interesting duels of going back and forth with actual gameplay, or floodgate/sacky one ofs that ruin everything.

For example, I was playing Branded Dracotail, and I semi-bricked, but still put up about 3 pieces of interaction with Gulamel, Flame and FNV (I am still learning the deck, there were more optimal lines). My opponent was playing a fairly interesting deck that I thought was quite creative, White Forest Dark Magician with a minimal Primite engine. We ending going back and forth for a few turns, where I end up winning after barely being able to scrape it. The duel was fun and got me to really think about my moves, and same for my opponent. That is one side to Master Duel: incredibly interactive and fun to play with actual brains being used.

Then, as if Master Duel detected a singular molecule of dopamine in my brain from this game, it hit me with back to back to back awful games. All of these games, I was on the same deck as before, just trying to learn it.

Game 1: True Draco. Opponent goes first, sets 5 and passes. They flip Last Turn, I attempt to pop using Urgula, and they flip Soul Drain. I pass, thinking I can do Faimena for the Gulamel I already have on field, and I get hit with True Draco Apocalypse and they Tribute Summon, so I can't do anything. I surrender, looking at their decklist and wondering why the floodgate pile hasn't been nuked already.

Game 2: Enneacraft. Opponent goes first, activates Dimensional Fissure, sets Archa.Tail, and passes. Brick, sure, but I have double Ketu, Faimena, Albaz and Walbaz, so I'm sat here trying to figure out what to do against this thing. End up outing it with Gulamel and Faimena, but it eats my Urgula, Lukias and Albaz, so all of those are gone. This one felt a bit less infuriating because I was able to win due to the opponent not understanding how Enneacraft works, but felt hollow because I was playing against what I can only assume to be a toddler with asshole cards.

Game 3: Radiant Typhoon. I go first, and I get hit with Fuwalos. I think that this card is actually fine, strangely enough, as it is a turn ended for some decks, but I believe that decks should have a game plan around it as to not feed. It feels healthy and encourage the player to think out their board and how to best achieve it. I chain Branded Opening, and I think I only have to give them one or two draws for a decent board.

Maxx C.

Obliterate this one of now. Same with cards like Shifter and Droll, these cards belong in the deepest pits of Tartarus where not even Hades himself could pry open the shackles that should hold these cards. Why these cards that are very unbelievably bad for the game haven't been atomized from the face of the game is unknown to me, but I would gander a guess at the person who makes Master Duel banlists being someone who wishes that all toilet wipes were replaced with extra rough sand paper. A being of ignorance and malice.

End up having to feed them 5 draws, and they immediately break my half made board, all because of a cockroach that should've been drowned in Raid by now.

These are the bad games. The floodgates and sacky one of cards that have no place in the game and ruin experiences. I love Yu-Gi-Oh, do not misunderstand me. I have played this game for a while and have played Master Duel to connect with friends, but this just feels disgusting.

I am not saying that Master Duel is inherently bad at all times, but the things they let go in this game to run around and just bother people who want to play an actual game is stupid. "Player with as many brain cells as the average horror movie character hits you with floodgates because they do not want to play Yu-Gi-Oh" should not be something that exists in a 1 game format, instead Master Duel should be something fairly interesting and more Player vs Player, and not Player vs Cards Derived from the Very Cracks of Satan's Bosom.

Apologies for my long winded post, I am just mildly flummoxed as a TCG player as to why Master Duel, and to a greater extent, Yu-Gi-Oh as a whole, allows for such idiocy. Have a nice morning or evening, wherever you are.

First UR Enneacraft I pulled by the way

Damn, Konami, I was already building Enneacraft, you didn't need to give me another reason to play it.

I love this game....

love how people just run "yes" the deck and the game just gives them a way to every engine in the deck and not punish them ever when they go against me and ill draw 5 hand traps or some crap.

Orcust deck help

I have been playing orcust for a while but am now stuck and unable to optimize the deck further. Does anyone have tips.

Right now I my normal endboard is pk link 3, ip, dingersu, 2 pk trap, crusendo, sarc with spell in hand and babel. I also have 1 to 2 other interruptions depending on hand traps and my starting hand.

Going second I can often break boards with evenly matched and gandora enough to set up orcust and win a grind game.
