The George Russell meme

The reference for the George Russell meme is related to Osama Bin Laden, and I think we should stop calling him that. I don't think this is funny until you had learned about it. Basically you're saying George is a terrorist and someone who bombs? Not cool guys, please guys George maybe arrogant and puts the blames on other drivers but let's not call him that, George isn't someone who'd do something like that, and calling him "Osama Bin Russell" changing his name to a terrorist name isn't funny and it's literally bullying, as a Mercedes fan this saddens me a lot. He has made his own name and status.. let's not.. please?

Comment section on the Instagram page

I know that it's pretty much useless to try and stop all the toxicity going on the social medias pages, it's been going on for years and it's been only getting worse, but is there a reason why so many Chinese fans are against Kimi/the team due to sabotage accusations?

George Russell Post Race Interview

Link to full article

"I'm beyond frustration now, it's just struggling to comprehend how on earth this season is panning out in the way in it has," he said.

"Yesterday was a bad day, and I accept that, but the result of the last two races, I wish I could take some responsibility for the car breaking down in Canada or the penalties today.

"But it's been completely outside of my control, and that is an incredibly difficult pill to swallow.

"I don't ever really believe in good luck or bad luck, but when I look at the season as a whole, and leading the race in Canada, breakdown, could have been on the podium today, zero points, leading the race in Japan, safety car came out 10 seconds after my pitstop.

"There's not a lot, and the whole season could look totally different. Now, I'm [68] points off the lead."
Russell added: "We're not even 30% of the way through, but there's a lot of points down the drain. It's not been very enjoyable."

He said he was in a "very weird state of mind because I've had very low moments in my career where I've maybe had a run of two bad races or three bad races on my own personal performance".

"I've never had a run of bad luck like this. It didn't happen when the car was a P7 car two years ago or a P4, P3 car last year. Now I've got the car, it feels very painful.

"But there's a long way to go. I still very much believe in myself. I still believe we're going to be fighting for race wins to the end of this year.

"There's no reason why we won't be continuing in the next year, but right now it's tough."

Russell said "if things balanced out a little more" then the battle with Antonelli would be "very, very close" and he would have "at least two more victories".

I feel like George is correct...

Poor Russel said, 'It feels like somebody doesn't want me to fight for this championship'.

After the way things have gone down today.... I feel like he is just going to feel more like this is just fact for the season...

Truly heartbreaking, I hope he doesn't lose his fire 🫂

Mercedes knows how to pick their drivers. Everytime.

Watching Kimi today, All I can say is:

Mercedes picks the correct drivers. Always.

  1. Michael: 7 time WDC perfect to help launch new car
  2. Rosberg: Rapid driver who had the most intense of seasons with 2 G.O.A.T.s before winning in 2016
  3. Hamilton
  4. Bottas: Perfect second driver for a G.O.A.T. , took almost a third of all the poles in Mercedes during his partnership with Hamilton,
  5. George: Might sound like an outlier right now, but he was picked by Mercedes and put in that Williams. Drove his heart out for those 3 years, including the Shakir stint. Joined full time in 2022, and did well against Lewis even if it was not Lewis's best generation of cars. Has multiple wins, but seems like he's had a bad run this year, with only 2 podiums (1 win) but found his groove in Canada till the car gave up.
  6. Kimi: Such magnificence. 4 wins 1 podium. Toto had his eyes on him since a while, and made him skip F3, and jump into F1 after just 1 F2 season. People thought he was being overoptimistic. But Kimi is proving them wrong. And today, he was just brilliant. Did not expect him to pull off such a tight one in quali.

Well done Mercedes, and Grande Kimi.

EDIT: CONGRATS ON THE WIN, KIMI!

George post race Interview

🚨 George 🗣️"I'm flat, I'm beyond frustration, a state of struggling to comprehend what is going on. The team told me there’s nothing I did wrong in the pit lane, I pressed the limiter before the entry, I released it after the exit, but it was a software issue. A 5-second penalty is not ideal, not the end of the world, but then with the pit stop, I didn't serve it, drive-through penalty. The punishment doesn't fit the crime, and I went from P3 to 0 points."

"We've won 2 of 3 sprint races, won in Melbourne, and I was leading in Canada, the car broke down. I was leading in Japan, poor safety car timing, I could've been on the podium here today. I haven't lost any faith in myself. Yes yesterday was a really bad day for me, but I still could've been on the podium today()"

Kimi Antonelli has won his first ever Monaco Grand Prix & becomes the youngest ever winner at Monaco, overtaking Lewis Hamilton Kimi Antonelli is just 19 years, 9 months and 13 days old

George knocked down to third in championship

Hamilton in second place. Can George get it together for Barcelona and get podium? At this point we can’t blame the car.

People need to stop expecting Antonelli to look like Hamilton in year one

The bar being set for Antonelli right now is quietly unreasonable. He's a rookie replacing arguably the greatest of all time at a team that's still in the middle of a technical reset. The fact that he's outpacing Russell in any metric at this stage is actually significant if you look at it honestly.

Hamilton took a full season to look comfortable at McLaren after his first title. He made mistakes. He had weekends where the car fell away from him. That's normal.

Rookies are supposed to struggle. The actual signal isn't whether Antonelli is winning, it's whether he's learning. His sector data in Monaco tells a better story than his grid positions. Reddit doesn't do time well, but development arcs take time.

George getting unpurposely sabotaged by the team fr

To be clear in advance

"The theory of Toto's sabotage" is total bullshit.
And true. It's 100% his fault that got his first penalty.

However wow, what a shit double stack it was and very much PERFECTLY executed time penalty as well.

What we call sabotage involves with someone's intention. Unlike that, this is just either stupid or foolishness issue.

He could have got his podium at his best, if not 4th, if worse still maybe points?

Gonna end with no points for him. Yep great job team
