I'm trying to get Fusion 360 to open after installing for the first time (x64, student license).
It launches but once I get to the Home Screen it immediately crashes and throws an error message.

Things I've already tried:
-Done multiple full clean uninstalls and fresh reinstalls (wiping residual Autodesk AppData folders).
-Ran both Repair and Reset via the Fusion Service Utility.
-Repaired Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime (x64) and Visual C++ Redistributables.
-Forced Software OpenGL (QT_OPENGL = software).
-Set Fusion360.exe to High Performance in Windows Display Graphics Settings
-updated GPU drivers.
-Ran as Administrator and checked firewall/network settings.

Has anyone dealt with this instant-crash loop on fresh installs before and figured out what was killing it? I’ve spent hours on it. It’s honestly impressive how this software has managed to give me a bad experience before I even use it.

With the way the inter-Mercedes championship battle has been fluctuating, how much of the current gap between George and Kimi do you think is down to pure driver performance versus luck and team errors?

Obviously, it’s not fully one or the other; both play a massive role in how the drivers’ respective seasons have played out. When they've both had a clean run, there have been weekends where each driver held the upper hand on raw pace. However, the number of technical and operational issues at Mercedes has heavily skewed the standings on multiple occasions.

I looked through the season so far, and these are the main examples I’ve found of point swings that did not have to do with driver skill:

George Russell:

• Canadian Grand Prix: Electrical/power unit failure. The team confirmed the PU suffered a battery failure on Lap 30 while Russell was leading the race.
• Monaco Grand Prix: Pit crew error. The mechanics worked on the car before serving his 5-second penalty, triggering a drive-through penalty that dropped him out of a possible P3 or P4 finish.
• Austrian, British, & Belgian Grands Prix: Undiagnosed top-speed deficit. Toto Wolff stated today that telemetry confirmed a persistent straight-line speed loss due to the car, not driver skill or different deployment strategies.

Kimi Antonelli:

• Spanish Grand Prix: Electrical system error. He was running in P2 when an electronic failure caused a DNF.
• British Grand Prix: Front Wing structural failure. His front wheel shield mechanically failed, forcing multiple pit stops that dropped him down to a P15 finish.

I’m not suggesting some consipracy, like Mercedes purposefully sabotaging George, but as much as Russell is struggling this season, and as much as Kimi is a generational talent, I find it hard to believe a top-3 driver from last season is suddenly a half-second slower per lap than his 19-year-old teammate in the "same" car. The same driver who took a backmarker Williams to P2 in quali at this very track. (with some technicalities)

It’s tough to find factual, objective opinions nowadays with a fanbase that lets the likability of a driver affect the perception of their true skill.

How are you guys weighing this head-to-head right now? Does the current points gap actually reflect who is driving better this season, or has it mostly been decided by who gets the better-running car?
