TELL ME WHAT IS MY NICHE MUSIC TASTE?

i will attach my spotify acc you guys can even check that out

To be completely honest, I wouldn't say I am a very niche music listener, and I don't think I have some kind of "amazing" or elitist music taste. But if there is one thing I know for sure, it is this: I don't think anyone listens to music with as much pure passion as I do. What would life even be without music? When I look at the fact that I have over 50 playlists, and realize that everything I am describing right now comes from just two or three of them, I honestly don't even know how to fully explain my love for it. Music isn't just background noise to me; it is a vital part of how I survive and feel.

I don't really have a neat, single answer when someone asks me what my music taste is because I don't fit into a rigid genre. Instead, I listen to music in intense phases. If I find a song I love, I will listen to it on an absolute loop, over and over, for as long as it takes until it literally runs onto my nerves. I will squeeze every ounce of emotion out of that track until I am ready for the next phase.

My music taste is a direct reflection of my emotional state, and it changes depending on where my heart is

When I am sad, I embrace the beautiful sadness. I don't shy away from vulnerability or existential dread. Instead, I dive straight into it and find a strange sense of comfort, and even a bit of dark wit, in the heavy stuff. I will literally pair The SmithsMitski, and Radiohead together. I use music to actively process my most difficult emotions rather than running away from them.

I love, love, LOVE love songs. In fact, I have an entire playlist dedicated to them called "put it in a love song." I am deeply drawn to music where the musician is a true yearner—someone who is completely baring their soul. I know I am totally into that hopeless romantic kind of thing. My absolute top favourite song is "Iris" by The Goo Goo Dolls. There is a specific line in it that goes, "I'll give up forever to touch you," and it just completely breaks me because it captures that exact level of raw, dramatic, and consuming devotion that I love.

I have a deep obsession with vintage, nostalgic tracks. My playlists are a seamless bridge between different eras. I love the classic, cinematic warmth of Frank Sinatra and the Bee Gees, but I also love transitioning that exact same nostalgic feeling into modern bedroom-pop and indie artists like girl in redTV Girl, and Malcolm Todd.

At the end of the day, my music taste isn't something you can define by a single label. It is a living archive of my phases, my heart, my sadness, and my capacity to love.

Guess the Artist The Art is Referencing (Day 1)

Rules:

- You will get a piece of art and you will, with a hint I give you, will try to guess who the artist is

- I will let you know if you are correct or wrong, you are allowed to guess more than once

- If people are not figuring it out within a certain amount of time, I will provide a second hint

- Have fun and please follow subreddit rules

Here is your hint: The band that made the song that inspired this piece is a three-piece from Mexico

All art is drawn digitally by me, so there might be some time in between days as I am a busy person, although I do have a decent backlog available to me.

2026 tier list

Obviously these aren’t all the albums I’ve listened to from this year so far. This year has been amazing so far and I’m intrigued to see what comes next for music.

I made an 80s album tier list

I decided to listen to more 80s music because it was my second least favorite decade (2000s is my least favorite) and honestly it was much better then I thought it would be.

my music taste is stuck in 2003 and i’m not sorry

lowkey stuck in the early 2000s nu-metal rabbit hole and theres no way out lmao. typing this while blasting "dig" on max volume.is the vibe immaculate or do i have zero personality? don't gatekeep drop your top tiers
