yeah, lmk who is your favorite artist/band/album, can be all time favorite and can be just favorite lately. i'll rate the highest rated song, and if i'll really like it, i'll add the album to a listening queue.
NOTE: no metal or stuff in languages that aren't english(can be instrumental tho).
first album: white album by weezer.
thoughts: it's my first weezer album, so i didn't know what to expect. but it was pretty good! i liked the vibe of the album, the guitar production, the vocals. the problem was that the songs sounded too similar to each other. there weren't like standout moments, all the songs were good but not great. i like the pop-rock production and all of the chord progressions sound pleasing and their vocals are great as i mentioned, but it wasn't that interesting
top 3: 1. california kids, 2. thank god for the girls, 3. L.A girlz
worst: there wasn't a bad song on the album, but i'll go with jacked up cause it wasn't really interesting.

if i've heard an album, i'll comment that i've heard it and give you the ranking i would've given.
NOTE: no extreme metal, k-pop
ALSO: i haven't listened to a lot of albums, so it doesn't have to be random albums but preferably stuff that other people would upvote

(i reposted it cause there was no engagement)
dr fantano gave it a 100. i don't think it's perfect cause not all of the songs are amazing(some are just good and nightvision in my opinion is only mid), but i still gave it a 90 cause it's so fun and catchy record and has some really high highs.
what's your favorite song(mine's digital love) and what rating would you give it?
first album was discovery by daft punk!
favorite song: digital love
worst song: nightvision
thoughts on the album: very fun album, most songs are very fun to listen to, and have a cool production and dance-y vibe.
it's not a masterpiece imo, cause about half of the songs are just good(all except nightvision are nice or better) but the other songs are close to perfect and some are perfect.
the songs i really liked are digital love, one more time, harder better faster stronger, superheroes, something about us and face to face. i also liked some of the completely instrumental ones, especially veridis quo, aerodynamics and the first half of short circuit.
so yeah, it's not the craziest record, and for sure not the most consistent, but it's really fun and has some amazing highs.
choose the best album remaining - comment the album that you think is best, from the ones remaining, and i'll listen to it and give a review. after that, i'll put it on a tier list.

okay as you can see, atrocity exhibition by danny brown, golliw*g by billy woods, tetsuo & youth by lupe fiasco, ridin' dirty by ugk and enter the wu tang clan by wu-tang clan won the first 5 spots, and i added the forever story by jid, and rodeo by travis scott.

also the genres are decided - metal/grunge was added(i know they are separate, but they are both kind of sub-genres of rock), and the 'other' category will stay(to have more variety at the end).
here's my review:
amazing album honestly. i didn't came with expectations cause i've heard some radiohead songs and wasn't blown away. but this album(most songs) fitted my taste. i really liked the production, had some great guitar riffs and solos. had some amazing tracks but also a couple of ones i didn't really connect too, but overall it was great experience and the highs really overcome the lows.
the vocals were really good most of the time and the concepts were also interesting.
i really liked the concept of My Iron Lung, where they compare their song 'creep' to an iron lung that keeps them alive and they are grateful for that, while also not wanting the fame and they only need the iron lung because of the fame they didn't want so that's very interesting.
most songs had really interesting concepts and metaphors, most of them were depressing but it still beautiful. i didn't understand all of the concepts cause it's only the first listen, but i'm sure that i'll understand them more and enjoy them more. also about the concepts, I really like how everyone can understand them differently and that's really a special thing here.
i didn't rate it higher cause i haven't(yet) saved any song, but after a couple of listens i'll for sure give it a higher rating and save some songs.
top 3: the bends, (nice dream), just HM: black star
worst: bullet proof ... i wish i was. it just don't fit my taste, it was too depressed + the production was too laid back.
underrated: the bends/sulk
overrated: fake plastic trees
overall rating(for a first listen): 85/100
it would be listening to one(or more) album every day, that the top comment will pick, but i decide the genre/sub-genre/overall vibe. and maybe sometimes i'll rate entire discographies(maybe in a separate challenge).
what do you think about that? would it be enjoyable?
also i'll probably do it in a tier list and not a topster cause it's more accessible imo

for me it'd be songs in the key of life by stevie wonder.
also some other examples i would have are what's going on by marvin gaye, currents by tame impala, illmatic by nas, abbey road by the beatles, when the pawn... by fiona apple, pet sounds by the beach boys, in the court of the crimson king, and finally aja by steely dan
for me it'd be As by stevie wonder, this song is soo good
if you remember, i did a listening challenge, where i listened to the album that the top comment suggested.
in a couple of weeks i will begin a new challenge(after i finish all of the tests i have).
please give ideas and if you can give some details about your idea.
i'll gather the best ideas in my opinion + ideas i have or been suggested already, and put them into a poll where you will decide the final idea
