Movie Night @ Madrone on Monday
My favorite couple of hours of the entire weekend (Jon Thompson on drum edit: thought I should add that this is improv and the drummer and DJ have never met before this.)

What a beautiful weekend! i am still after-glowing. So inspired.
Sadly I lost my duel-ready lightsaber (which I was borrowing from a friend).
Sunday night after Tape B a friend of mine wandered off with it. I didn't see him until next morning and he told me he had forgotten it at the upper deck by the Grove.
The saber may have been spotted at Madrone deep into the night, but that is hearsay.
Lmk if you know a guy who knows a gal who knows a thing :)
Funny memory from Northern Nights x Dirtybird Campout I thought I’d share.
We’re walking back to camp from Madrone around 7:30-8am, all strung out, and there’s a group with their own speaker just playing music and dancing on top of the art car. No lineup had even started. They just decided it was their time to shine.
Went and took a nap after that because honestly it felt too early to process.
Woke up a couple hours later, headed down to the river, and saw the same group floating by on a tube, drifting toward Bird Bath. As they passed, I heard one of them go “should we take more acid?” like it was a totally normal thing to workshop out loud on a river at that hour.
Pretty sure they were on their way to open the Bird Bath. Wooks really do operate on their own schedule and I kind of admire it.
::)
Looking for Kaitlyn(?) and Zack! We met Sunday night at LFO on the bouncy balls, I gave you a little heart crystal!! We met up again at the Mindchatter set, but I didn’t get any of your info either time. Would love to connect! 🫶🏼
Does anyone have a picture or video of the majestic witch woman that was in Clozee’s visuals? I felt so connected to her, I want to get her tattooed :)
Can anyone share a photo of the small/friends stages lineups last weekend (octopus garden, madrone etc)?
We stumbled upon some amazing sets, but I can’t find the small stages lineup online to figure out who they were
For the love of God does anyone know who was playing Saturday at the Grove after Anya and They/Them Gays? At around 9 PM before High Step Society. There was no one on stage but the craziest dubstep/bass bangers were played. I particularly remember a Clint Eastwood Gorillaz remix. I was too busy throwing myself to the ground to have taken a video.
Sorry for the short clip but can someone please help me identify what song this is?
LP Giobbi played it roughly 20-ish min before the end of her set.
I’ve been trying to figure out the lyrics and so far I can only make out something along the lines of:
when it’s done,
you’ll look back,
at yourself (at your own?),
paralyzed (pair of eyes?)
The female vocals sound super familiar and the melody kinda sounds almost like a Justice song - just really hoping this isn’t an unreleased track that’ll be stuck in my head for the next 6 months until it comes out.
EDIT:
I found it. It is in fact a remix of SOS by ABBA by Nari and Steve Tosi. link here
Im a F, looking for a guy I met, at the madrone back couches by the river, I was laying back there with my friend who was very high and we were cuddling. You came and sat down and we started talking about the festival and the weed industry. You shared some fire bud with me from your pipe and you just had very sweet, welcoming and friendly energy. Don’t really know what I’m looking out of this I just thought it would be nice to reconnect I can’t remember if you said you were from Humboldt or not might be a long shot but whateva.
Edit: I think I remember you said you worked on building the grove in the past, especially the pirate ship year.
Ok so this track was a bona fide banger of a remix of the intro to Smooth Operator by big daddy kane… i was thrown and just need this track in my life if anyone knows it!!?
justin played it at the main stage and mntra & tchilt threw it in at their River stage set - I imagine it’s an unreleased track at the moment cause it felt like it‘d be way played out if it was out in the world but wanted to check with the community just in case!
Hello everyone 👋
Does anyone know why Gene Farris didn’t show up to his 4-5 Sunday set at birdbath or his 8-9:30 octopus garden b2b with sacha robotti ? He’s been my favorite dj for a while now, and I honestly probably wouldn’t have bought the festival ticket had he not been on the lineup. I still had an amazing time and I’m glad that I went, and I would love to go again next year, but I was a bit disappointed considering that I drove from Seattle for the festival. If anyone has any information regarding this I’d love to know !
That was one of my favorite sets of the weekend
I know this is a long shot, but I’m hoping this reaches the woman I met sitting on the sofas in the back of the Madrone stage.
You were beautiful, fit, and I believe you were Asian. We started talking because you looked really upset. You opened up about how you’d spent a good part of the day supporting your boyfriend by filming content for his walk-around DJ set. Later, after taking some goodies, he left you on your own despite everything you’d done for him. You mentioned this wasn’t the first time something like this had happened, and it was clear how hurt and exhausted you felt.
Eventually your boyfriend, who had long hair ran into you. And again, blamed you from distancing yourself, even though you pleaded him to not invest in those goods. That was the last time I saw you..
I’ve been thinking about our conversation ever since. I don’t have an agenda or expect anything in return. I just wanted to check in and make sure you’re okay.
You deserve to be appreciated, respected, and cared for by the people closest to you. No one should feel abandoned after spending the day supporting someone they love. We should be looking out for one another, especially at festivals, and I truly believe the women in our community deserve to be treated with kindness, respect, and dignity. We should protect our sisters, our friends, and the people around us, and make sure they feel safe, valued, and supported.
If this happens to reach you, I’d just love to know you’re doing alright. I hope the rest of your weekend turned around, and I hope you’re surrounded by people who treat you the way you deserve to be treated.
Wishing you the best. 🫶
Anyone know the name of who played the last set at bunker on Saturday? Loved that set but never caught their name.
Set I thought was going to be the best: Hamdi
Set of the weekend: Mindchatter
What was everyone’s most favorite totem of the weekend? Personally I loved watching the orangutan/monkey spin around at main stage.
I’m looking for a wonderful woman I met at the LFO stage over the weekend. My name is Geoff (39, from Sacramento). You mentioned you are 43 and from the Eureka/Humboldt area. We talked about me being a twin dad, and I absolutely loved your energy and vibe. I lost your name and didn’t get your number in the festival rush, but I would love to connect again before or at next year's festival. If you see this holla Or if you know her help a brother out.
we put up a tie dye tapastry on the car and had everyone of u beautiful people sign it by bird bath! It came out great! Thank u everyone🥹
