NordicTrack Reformer

I was going back and forth about buying the NordicTrack reformer (latest version which is $5000). I couldn’t find any helpful information about it online so wanted to come and share my experience three weeks in.

For context I’m new to Pilates (not brand new but think maybe 10-15 reformer classes ever). I really liked it the few times I’ve done it but classes are such a far drive from my house, expensive and I have a busy job as a litigation attorney. I recently had my second (and last) baby, so decided to take the risk and add this reformer to our home gym. It allowed for 30 day return, so figured why not!

The reformer itself is beautiful. But it is definitely large. You need a big dedicated space to fit this in your home. I love the fact that the screen swivels. Especially as a newbie, it really helps to be able to see the instructor.

The classes have been great. The major difference I see is not at all in the quality of teaching but in the fact that nobody can correct my form. That being said as I take the classes I’m learning intuitively to correct my form - each class feels a little less like my limbs are foreign to me. I would say I’m generally athletic and coordinated so that may help!

It is a humbling experience. My abs and legs are still on fire from a workout I did three days ago. That’s exactly what I wanted from the machine so I’m glad I’m getting it.

Cons: you cannot access the classes on the NordicTrack app, only on the device itself. I find that super annoying from a planning perspective. I would like the opportunity to sit and scroll through classes, pick classes to calendar etc. it’s not realistic for me to spend an hour in front of the machine just looking through classes. I hope they fix this feature soon. I imagine it’s to prevent people taking the classes on non-NordicTrack machines. Wonder if they could figure out a way for people to view and calendar classes on the app, without being able to take the class.

Anyway, would love to hear other peoples experiences or answer any questions.

NordicTrack Commercial 2450 - Return?

I just had my NordicTrack Commercial 2450 delivered yesterday. A few years ago I had a NordicTrack Commercial 14.9 Elliptical that was pretty decent but I sold it when we moved. I also had an Echelon Stride treadmill that gave me no issues.

I’m having second thoughts about the treadmill based on what I’m reading here. Do I just use their return policy and have them come pick it up to save myself a headache down the road? I’m a walker so I use the treadmill for inclines mostly.

Any advice is appreciated.

Buying a used Commercial 2450

Local FB marketplace has a listing for 10 month old 2450. Buyer said she bought new for her husband who never used it. She sent me a couple of pics with the current mileage reading of 20 miles.

Price is $975.

Going to check it out this week.

What do you guys think of the price?

What should I watch out for when inspecting?

Thanks!

Is this a scam

I am afraid we have been scammed at the point. Either that or we have had the worst customer experience ever. We ordered over a month ago, with an estimated delivery between 2-3 weeks.
I’ve followed up a few times and they notified me it was in backorder. Last Friday we received a ship notification and we were charged but when I track the item still has not even left California.
I’m seriously disappointed and terribly concerned I have been scammed at this point.
Is this normal for them? What should have arrived in 2-3 weeks is now on week 7 and now I’m supposed to pay for something I still have not received.

Treadmill Repair (London, ON)

Looking for someone to come repair my Sole F63 treadmill, i believe it is just the red wire terminal that has overheated and melted, and need to replace the burnt spade connector and inspect the red wire for heat damage.
Can anyone help with this?

NordicTrack/iFIT HORRIBLE SUPPORT

If I had known my $5,000 investment in a NordicTrack Ultra 3 treadmill was going to come with Support that doesn’t answer the phone after 45 minutes on hold and an online ChatBot that refuses to pass me onto a human being, I would never had bought this treadmill. I paid extra for White Glove installation services, only to find out my installer had never done an install before, they sent two guys when they needed 3-4 (per the installer), they didn’t bother connecting one of the grounding cables, and then they didn’t actually follow the directions so I’m missing the rolling pad that goes under the rear wheels and the machine won’t level. To top it all off, iFIT removed YouTube and YouTube TV from my installed apps two weeks after I set it up and one can’t reinstall them either. Last, they also removed the ability to see what rate the treadmill is operating at (mph) and the incline!!!! How bad can one suck?

Customer Service and Warranty Rant

Just feel like venting with terrible customer service experience...

T8.0 treadmill, purchased in 2011 so honestly for anything to last 15 years with today's enshitification is probably a win, but still... It gets some pretty regular use. It has always been inside and never moved from its original location. My son noticed that it was getting very bouncy and making some funny noises, so I pulled the cover and found that the Lift Frame has fractures in a few locations. I pull out the manual to look at the warranty coverage, and was happy to see that, "The frame and drive motor are warranted for a lifetime." Sweet.

Then I start trying to figure out how to file a warranty claim... Whoa boy. There is no direct information anywhere I could find online. The online chat feature is useless, so I ask it for a phone number. I call the number and it is an AI assistant. She eventually gets me to the "member care team." Then it asks for the phone number associated with my account. I had to then go through a bunch of hoops to find my iFIT account info from years ago to see what phone number I had associated with it. Then I call back and Emily the AI assistant goes through a list of questions before I get back to the member care team, and I am able to enter my number. Then they are experiencing higher than average call volumes (on a Thursday morning). I decide to put the phone on speaker and wait it out. 20 minutes later a woman with a heavy accent picks up the phone and I discuss the situation. She then asks a bunch of questions, provide her model and serial number, purchase date, etc. She then has to check on the warranty coverage and puts me on hold for another 10 minutes. Finally comes back and says she needs an original receipt or proof of purchase. Well I don't have my receipt from 15 years ago, it says lifetime warranty, shouldn't it cover the product for its lifetime? There is nothing she can do without proof of purchase apparently. I asked her for some way to contact her directly so I don't have to jump through all these hoops again if I can somehow find a proof of purchase, and she just gives me the main phone number that will get me back to Emily the AI assistant.

So I guess I will just cut my losses and peruse FB for a used treadmill, because I don't feel like wasting another several hours trying to get them to honor the "warranty".
