I opened up a Charleys Cheesesteaks and Wings franchise in San Fernando Valley. It is about to be almost 2 years since we opened the store! I only own the one located on 7956 Van Nuys Blvd Van Nuys CA 91402. I’m just a franchisee with one store and there is about another 500 franchisees throughout the US who own the rest.
Why did we choose this location?
I grew up in the SFV my whole life. The Plant has always been a center many people love going too. We have one of the busiest in n outs, the movie theater right behind, and almost everyone in the neighborhood goes to that Ross. We thought it would be a good location.
Why did we choose Charleys?
At the time Charleys was only Charleys Cheesesteaks. We were the first store to have Cheesesteaks and Wings in the valley. Now, all stores have wings. Growing up, almost every mall had a Charleys. It just stood out. Charleys is just good for a solid fast food meal.
Also everyone loves the strawberry lemonade.
Some facts
We serve roughly 200-300 guests per day.
We are one of the only restaurants in the area open late Fri/Sat until 12am.
Police officers/firefighters in uniform can get free food.

I used to go to Rita’s Italian ice on Lankershim, but it closed down a few years ago and haven’t found anything close that’s reasonably priced.

The new bike lane cones on Chandler in front of the Lofts @ NoHo Commons have prevented all vehicles from being able to park even for loading. Is there a number I could call to request creating a loading zone for disabled residence of the area?
I’ve been here for 4 years now and still haven’t found a nail salon that compares to ones on the east coast. Simple things like a French pedicure with a color base coat like a nude shade are clearly impossible for them to do.
Everywhere I go, they tell me they HAVE to do clear because they won’t be able to do the white French strip…um, what?
My entire life in NJ I have gotten a base color and it’s a VERY simple process—paint 1 set of toenails (and they usually have little portable fan blowing on it) and then move on to the other foot while that one is drying, then go back to the other foot for 2nd coat, then back to the other foot for 2nd coat, and in the meantime they are alternately drying. After both coats are applied, they do the French strip. Why is this so difficult out here??
And these salons have no drying stations either, what the hell is that about? No spray, no under the table foot fans, nothing. California is so much weirder than I expected.
Has anyone else out here had these experiences? Anyone know a really good nail salon to go to? I’m just about out of hope.

I am pretty sure a guy at the building in front of me is his dogs. I kept over hearing him yell and could see through the crack of the window and the frequency of the motion matching up to the beating sounds.
I also heard the dogs whimping. I yelled stop multiple times and tried to get his attention. Is there someone i can call to go investigate?
