NowTV app unwatchable on Amazon FireStick

Works fine on browser and on iPhone. But the frame rate seems to be wrong. Constant stuttering and the ball often disappears when moving fast. Trying to watch the cricket. Is this know issue with this device?

Support told me my internet connection is too slow. Quoting <1mbps from their end which I find to be ridiculous. I’m getting 70mbps on my computer.

Sports Month Discounts

Anyone recently renewed their sports memberships successfully with a discount? I've just tried going through the chat with multiple agents only to be told each time that there is no manual offers they can apply currently.

Lowest offer is £27.99 but even that's a little more than I'm willing to pay right now. If I sign up and immediately try to cancel, would I still be offered another discount?

Tv license question

So I have had NowTV entertainment for the last 6 years which I watch MTV, sky comedy mainly.
I use other streaming services too so never got a tv license.

Has something changed where you now need one to watch now tv?

I’ve been looking into getting sky tv and wondered if I don’t watch bbc channels can I still get away with not paying for one? 👀

i need help

I bought a Fire Stick 4K Max and use NOW TV, but after just one week it started freezing on the home screen. Note: When I turn off the TV, I also turn off the Fire Stick. I’ve already cleared the NOW TV cache, but it didn’t work.

Sometimes it goes to the main menu but won’t let me select anything, and other times it works.

I also just tried it on a TV connected to NOW TV without the Fire Stick (I have a subscription for two different devices), and it works.

Is the Fire Stick the problem? I just got the Fire Stick, and the battery was at 92% when I checked it; I also tested it by buying new batteries.

What could it be? Did I miss something?

Cool Streaming Idea?

I thought of a great feature that could be added to different streaming services. Imagine if you could make a playlist of sorts within your streaming service, and it would play different episodes from different shows one after another, almost mimicking normal TV but with shows that you're actually interested in.

I know I personally struggle binge watching shows because I'll either watch too many episodes in a row and get burnt out, or I'll just get tired of watching the same show one episode after another.

I think this would be a good way for people to get through the shows they want to watch while keeping them from getting stale. It could also be great for parents with young kids, I know my friends get tired of listening to the same kids show being played on repeat and the kids don't care what they watch as long as it's one of their shows.

Should I keep HBO Max Premium or use the login I have with NOW TV?

Just wondering what thoughts are on this. I know at launch, stuff was missing from NOW but then on HBO Max. Then there was issues being reported with ads being shown despite having Boost or Ultra Boost.

I have HBO Max Premium for about £7-8 a month from Argentina and find I'm not using so much.

Currently I have Irish NOW TV, Sports, Sports Extra, Entertainment & HBO, and Ultra Boost.

Given that I'm in a 12 month deal on the sports and slight less on Entertainment and HBO, but its a €3.99 or €4.99 offer, can't remember. I partly feel like I'm paying for same thing twice.

My understanding is that HBO Max will offer stuff in 4K where maybe NOW TV won't.

Potentially can watch HBO content on 3 devices at a time on NOW and that be ad-free but limited by what NOW want to show, or I can use on two devices at once with ads under the HBO Max app.

I know with a VPN, that HBO can also become more useful.

Anyone else get offered 1€ to stay with Sports for two months?

I recently signed up for a Now 'sports month membership'. When I attempted to cancel after three months, they offered me two more months at 1€ per month - I accepted.
A month later, they attempted to charge me 20€ again + 5€ for 'boost' which I never signed up for.
I attempted to cancel and they said I never confirmed the 1€ offer (I did but never got an email) and that I was on a 12-month contract that I couldn't cancel until April.
This was a lie and my own receipt proved it. Detail below.
I'm currently considering complaining them to the consumer protection authority.

DETAIL
NOW's order confirmation email of that date, attached, states: "Your membership will roll on from month to month." Its Terms and Conditions state, repeatedly: "Monthly memberships auto-renew until cancelled" and "You can cancel your Membership at any time in My Account." No 12-month minimum term is stated anywhere in the confirmation or its Terms and Conditions.

Recording / Watchlist Query

I'm looking to migrate away from Sky Q to either Sky Stream or Now TV.

I know you can't record on either, and on Sky Stream you add things to the playlist for cloud streams at a later date etc. And there may be issues where a broadcaster had the right to broadcast live but not on demand, so the playlist version takes you to Sky Movies for example which is blocked unless you have a subscription.

On Now TV this is called watchlist I believe. Does it function in the same way? If I have Sky Sports and wanted to watchlist shows that are broadcast overnight for example, will they work or are there rights restrictions? Can I do this with Sky Sports News for example, add a random hour of it and then watch it back at a later date?

Entertainment & HBO Max Minimum term.

Hi all,
In June I subscribed to an Entertainment & HBO max Minimum term subscription without fully realizing what I was subscribing to. I had done it on my own personal laptop simply just to watch a TV show that I couldn't find anywhere else and I thought that it was simply just a monthly subscription that I could cancel at anytime, I didn't even know minimum terms existed for something like this.

In July I cancelled the subscription after the second payment was taken because I didn't use NowTV/HBO Max anymore and I thought that would be the end of it.

Only today did I realize that it was a minimum term contract after another payment for it was taken even after I cancelled. I tried to talk to a representative through the live chat option and explained that I didn't know what I had agreed to and politely asked if I could cancel the payments, but they refused saying that because I agreed to it that they can't cancel it.

Is there anything I can do in this situation? I am completely aware that this is my own fault for not reading it properly when I signed up for it, I just don't know what to do this point forward, any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Now tv offer

I know similar threads have been done, but here goes.

Sky package up in September, so it’s getting cancelled finally. I’m paying £90 a month at the minute and they have offered £80 new deal.

Now tv offer I’m seeing at the minute is £32 a month for 12 months for sports entertainment and boost?

Is that decent or can do better?

Access Denied - Help!

I signed up for NowTV last weekend, and was using it fine until the night before last. For context I live in the Channel Islands in the UK where the service is definitely available as confirmed by several of my friends who have used the service here for years.

In the middle of watching a show on PS5 I got the “something went wrong” screen and it wouldn’t fix. I restarted the app, I then deleted and reinstalled the app, same thing. It still does it now.

When I try to sign into the app on my phone now it just tells me to check my internet connection over and over. (Obviously not the issue!?)

When I try going to their website to request help, it gives me the white “Access denied” screen. (You don’t have permission to access NowTV on this server.)

This now happens when trying to access the site from any device in my house; my laptop, my desktop, my roommate’s mobile phone.

I do not use a VPN, I was not account sharing, I have receipt of them taking payment and I cannot access the service in any way to request assistance in an area where it should be available.

I tried reaching out to customer services by email twice and have not had a response in two days. My ISP has not replied to my email query either but I’ve been told it’s likely on Now’s end by a tech friend.

Does anyone know what’s going on or what I can do to get this resolved please? Very frustrating. TIA

Dolby Atmos.... or not?

I have QN85 55"tv and S800D soundbar connected in eArc port.. I have Now tv app with boost for UHD and dolby atmos.

When watching a movie the Dolby Atmos setting on the TV shows as on, but is greyed out and can't be selected.

Is it playing in dolby atmos? Does the S800D automatically play in atmos when the movie is atmos?

*Update - The S800D front panel light flashes 3 times when receiving a Dolby Atmos signal.. this happened so it is working. **

NowTV Broadband will stop working soon without notice?

Hi all.

I’m a current NowTV broadband customer. My contract is ending so I called them to extend the contract. I was told to switch to Sky instead (with a 2 year contract). When I said I will stick with NowTV even a rolling contract, I was told by a few agents that the NowTV broadband service can be terminated at any time without prior notice because the technology is very old 😅

Is this true? I need to move out to a new place soon in a few months and not sure what the housing and internet situation will be.

I’m trying to find something online but don’t see anything about NowTV broadband being shut down.

Thanks so much!
