Self Hosted AIOStreams, Easy Install Script - Nuvio Compatable
I wanted my own AIOStreams instance — not because public ones are bad, just wanted full control and to know it's actually mine. But self-hosting it always turned into a whole afternoon of Docker configs, Caddy setups, and cert renewal. So I wrote a script that handles all of that for you.
Before you start, you'll need:
A VPS with root access (any provider), running Ubuntu 24.04+ or Debian 13 (should also work on Debian 12, untested)
A domain or subdomain, with an A record already pointed at your VPS's IP — set this up first and give it a few minutes to propagate before running the script, or the HTTPS step will fail.
If you don't have a domain yet, cheap options like Porkbun or a subdomain from your registrar work fine — you don't need anything fancy, just something you can point an A record at.
What it does:
Run one command on the VPS, give it your domain and a username/password, and it sets up:
Your own private AIOStreams instance (not shared with randoms)
HTTPS that just works and renews itself — no cert wrangling
A real login on the instance itself, not just a proxy password — it locks down the configure page, the dashboard, and the config API.
A management menu — status checks, restart, updates, switching from stable to nightly & vice versa, backups, clean uninstall, all from one place.
There's documentation on how to handle add-ons blocking your VPS IP address, by using a free or paid proxy, or an optional VPN script. You can also set up the watchdog script that uses the free ntfy service to send a phone notification if the VPN tunnel ever drops.
