Strawberry Milkshake

Looking for some advice from people who have dealt with this before.
I’ve got a ‘97 Chevy C1500 with the 5.7 and a 4L60E that I’ve been fixing up. It came with an aftermarket transmission cooler, but it’s still routed through the factory cooler in the radiator before going to the external cooler.
I was getting ready to replace the radiator anyway because it’s getting old, and when I started looking things over I noticed an oily pink film in the coolant. After disconnecting the transmission cooler lines, I’m pretty convinced the internal transmission cooler in the radiator has failed and ATF has been getting into the cooling system.
The transmission still shifts normally, so I’m hoping I caught it before it did any serious damage.
My plan right now is:
Flush the cooling system with the old radiator still installed to get as much of the contaminated coolant out as possible.
Replace the radiator.
Drain the transmission and refill it with cheap Dexron VI as sacrificial fluid.
Drive it just long enough to circulate everything, then drop the pan, replace the filter, and do a complete fluid exchange with fresh Dexron VI.
Check the pan for any signs that coolant made its way through the transmission.
Does that sound like the right approach, or is there something else I should be doing? Has anyone here saved a 4L60E after catching this early?
Also, once I replace the radiator, would you keep the transmission routed through both the radiator and the external cooler, or bypass the radiator and run only the external cooler?
Appreciate any advice.

Ac dilemma

Greetings everyone I hope y’all are getting ready for a great Fourth of July anyway I have a 92 GMC but I’m gonna have to let it go. I’ve done everything to the truck except for the AC and I live in Texas so in order to even began to get back what I’ve put into this truck it’s gonna need to blow cold. I just wanna ask the group has anyone put in a universal kit in one of these trucks and made it look halfway decent or in your opinion does it completely take away from the truck because I know there are many diehard OBS people thank you for reading this and take care.

1989 C1500 5.7L (350) issue

My truck (164,000 miles) has been stalling out when I change from D to R or visa versa and likes to stall at stop lights or stop signs. It like to lurch a little too when stopped and seems to have an RPM surge when stopped. I just changed plug wires, distributor cap and rotor and it got a little better but still doing it. Any idea? Video attached for reference

What is making this sound..

It will start and happen for awhile, then just completely stop.. then start again.
Checked for play in the wheel and it seems to be fine.

Cluster Gauge Upgrade

My '89 K2500 still has the stock moon gauges and I'm looking to upgrade to something more accurate and with a RPM Tachometer. Any suggestions between a later OBS cluster gauge, gauge pods, or digital? Everything including the pod gauges are kinda pricey, but I'm looking for the community's input on accuracy, affordability, and suggestions

I'll leave some pics of what I currently have and have been looking at.

Cruise control problems on 96' GMC Sierra 1500

I was driving down the highway today and engaged my cruise control only for it to shut off a couple seconds later, has anyone else had this problem? If so, what was your solution?

They ain’t the cleanest in the world. But man do I love these trucks!

First one is a 1996 c3500 HD that I got for free from my aunt. The second one is a 1998 k1500 that I bought for $3,500 two years ago. Maybe a little steep of a price but it was worth it for me.

My 88 project so far

Baught it for 500- leaking main seal in the trans, shot distributor and battery. My intent was to teach a lesson to my boy on fix n flip but it quickly turned into a one man's trash is another mans treasure lesson. After chatting with the owner, the motor was a replaced with a 350 crate and only has 8k on it. I guess that was the deciding factor in keeping her. So from start to now, in total I have 2,850 into it. How am I doing so far fellas?

Project truck for my son

I bought this 93 Silverado a couple months ago from my employer for my 12 year old son. The goal is to have it 100% complete exactly how he wants it by the time he’s able to drive. It has a few wiring issues that need fixing but nothing really major needs fixing on the truck. I just want to make it 100% reliable for him. The last two pics are the end goals he’s just stuck on which way he likes better. lol.
