Intro
Hello all. New here and I'd like to share my beautiful boy. His nickname is Maple and that’s pretty much what we always call him. He is 21 weeks old and I adopted him at around 14 weeks. He’s a wonderful addition! I sure am enjoying the posts of all your OSH kitties, too!
Pesto is all grown up
She turned one on june 24th 🩷
Birdie in her new favourite place!
She has taken a liking to this box that belongs to my chap. There’s a large piece weather in it for reupholstering his classic car seats. She has decided to add my chihuahua stuffies over the last few days for company! Silly baby! Just coming up to 6 months old now x
Teeth problems
Our boy is having to have teeth out next week as he's in pain from chronic gum issues. He is only 2 years old, anyone else had their OSH have a lot of tooth issues or needed teeth out early? Did they cope well? He may need most of his molars out :(.
Is he an oriental shorthair or a mix of that nature?
He’s skinny cuz he’s a stray (yes,were feeding him)
Schrödinger and Gomez
Here are the two of them: Schrödinger past Calisi virus, and Gomez still recovering from FIP. Sometimes it's love, and sometimes... not so much. They're such good kitties.
Janu
After his neutering all went well he is back to normal as soon as he was back from the hospital
New Baby - Welcome Peatmoss!
Meet my beautiful new baby Peatmoss (Peat for short). He’s a flame point OSH from a new Cattery in Missouri - BlueSky Cattery. He follows us around everywhere, loves to talk, and flings himself from one surface to another like an acrobat. LOOK AT HIS RINGTAIL!
I recently lost my most precious sweetheart Possum at only 2 years old to RCM, which was devastating. Having a baby around brings a little joy back, and I was happy to find a US breeder near me. The European “extreme ears” OSH are cuties, but I’ve had too many health problems with them. Peat had a thorough vet check and he’s very healthy!
Me: "Hi, Rayne, are we best friends?" Rayne: *inhales* "YEEEESSS!"
He's my favorite shiny black stud muffin! Literally stands on two legs and reaches up to ask for hugs.
My Oriental is acting out towards caretaker - help!
I have a 4 year-old oriental shorthair male, pretty chill and social most of the time. Having a neighbor look after him. She comes 2x a day to feed him and clean the litter. He had been skittish around her but seemed like he was getting used to her, sniffing her, walking up to her etc. Over the last week, he scratched her twice. Once she was opening the blinds and it may have freaked him out somehow. Then, today, as she was entering the home he started howling at her and he charged towards her and hit her leg. Now she's pissed, understandably so.
Does anyone have any have any explanation or any ideas on how to make this situation better? He's never showed aggressive behavior. Sometimes we've had guests over or maintenance workers stop by and he's never been aggressive. Maybe approached them out of curiosity and sniffed them, then walked away. Not sure why he has a problem with her-she's been a longtime cat owner. (Her senior cat passed away the week she started watching him)
Any insight is welcome - I'm two weeks into a six week vacation and at my wit's end! TIA
