Where did you get your OSH from?

Hey! I’ve been doing some research about where to get an oriental shorthair cat; I’m about two years out from being able to get one, but they’ve been my dream cat for like four years now.

I was wondering where you got your OSH from? I feel like the hardest part about finding a specific breed of any animal is a reputable breeder, especially one that’s close to you. I’m in the Midwest and feel as though there’s not a lot of options battery optionslet alone a way to know whether they’re a scam or not.

Any feedback about how you acquired your kitty would be very helpful!

Moving in together and modern dating - is it worth it?

Hello all!

Recently I’ve been thinking a lot about my relationship (of 4.5 years), and what that looks like for our future. My bf (23M) and I(22F) have been through a lot - long distance, deaths in the family, etc..: a lot of ups and downs. We’re starting to consider moving in together now that I’ll be done with my internship by the time he graduates from college.

That being said, I can’t help but feel a little apprehensive about moving in together, and a portion of that has to do with the fact that modern dating doesn’t seem worth it to me. Obviously if you’re working towards getting married one day, that’s one thing, but I don’t plan on getting married ever, and my bf could take it or leave it. And it’s so hard when I’ve witnessed multiple women, both in my personal life and online, share how hard it is to live with a man.

I can’t help but feel as though moving in together would either make or break our relationship - he has a long standing habit of not keeping his environment clean, and he’s a major procrastinator. I feel as though I would be the one doing all the cleaning, maintenance, errands and everything for the both of us, when it could easily just be for myself.

It’s just hard to commit to a lifestyle that so many women are currently moving away from and actively encouraging other women to do the same.

That being said; I love my boyfriend, I really do. But I also desperately want to live a life for myself, by myself. Moving in together, and dating in general - is it, in your mind, really truly worth it?

I (F22) love my bf (M22) as a person, but don’t know if I want a relationship anymore

Hello all! I was looking to see if anybody has also struggled with feelings similar to this.

For context, my bf(22) and I (22) have been together for 4 years; our first date was our senior year prom night. In this 4 years we’ve gotten really close with each other, each others families, and we’ve gone through a lot of really tough situations, like a flood, the death of pets, grandparents, etc., and we’re very close.

Lately though, as of the past year and a half or so, we’ve hit some tough spots, where I just felt like there were a lot of empty promises made, which ultimately led to a lot of reoccurring disappointment. And now, over a year later, he’s begun to work on some of the things we’ve discussed, but I’m almost worried the effort is too little too late. I just feel as though I shouldn’t have had to ask for these things to be done for that long, especially when it’s simple things like making appointments for himself, having better communication, or even just keeping his environment clean. There’s been a lot more instances but those have been the main grievances in our relationship.

And then we keep talking about moving in together once he’s done with college and I’m done with my internship, but I can’t help but feel as though I would love to just have my own place. The idea of moving in together sounded so good months ago and lately it’s been gnawing at the back of my mind.

I feel bad even saying this because I do love my boyfriend, obviously, and I enjoy him as a person. I love his family and they love me. I want this to work out because it’s hard to picture him not being in my life, but I simply don’t feel the same about him as I once did, and I don’t know how to rekindle that feeling. Has anybody else experienced something like this in a relationship? If so, did it inevitably lead to a breakup? Were you able to salvage your relationship? Thank you for any advice!

How to re-ignite the spark in your relationship; is it possible?

Hello all! For a little context, my bf(22) and I(22) have been together for 4 years now. Things were great the first 2 years or so, and then as we got in the groove of long-distance and school, there have been some things that have needed improvement in our relationship. I won’t get into the details a whole lot, but it mostly revolves around his lack of day-to-day communication, harmful habits and general lack of consideration.

We’ve had multiple talks about those things throughout the years, and it was one of those situations where he would make improvements for a couple weeks or couple months at a time, and then we’d be back right in the same position again. Because of that, I’ve started restricting the way I show affection for him; I’ve found kissing to be more difficult, as well as intimacy (physical and emotional). I would like to engage in those kind of things, but it’s hard for me to WANT to, if that makes sense?

Now we’re both home for summer again, and we had yet another conversation after he’s noticed my lack of affection. I can acknowledge that my lack of intimacy is due to my emotional needs not being met, along with a few other factors like work stress, etc.. That being said, my question is: since it’s taken so long for those troublesome things in our relationship to change, is there any way to regain the spark, or desire to engage in all forms of intimacy, or is our relationship a lost cause? I do love him, and I want to be with him, but it’s frustrating how long we’ve gone with this dynamic. If anybody has experience in this situation, I would love to hear!

I hit a possum with my car, how to deal with the guilt

Hello. I work at a funeral home. I was on call this morning, and got called in at about 3 AM. About two hours later I was on my way home and just turned onto the gravel road that leads to my house. I was going 25, maybe 30, I looked away for one second, and the next thing I know a possum walked out in front of me. I tried to swerve and at first couldn’t tell if I hit him, but then I turned around and sure I enough I did hit him. I immediately started sobbing; I love possums so much. We have a family of them that stay in our entryway during the winters, and I’ve always loved them, so it hurts so much more. I ran back to him and sat with him for about a minute and a half until he passed away.

I’ve been sobbing since then. I don’t know how to deal with this. Working in a funeral home, I feel silly being so affected by an animal when I work with human beings who’ve lost their loved ones, but I love animals so much, and I can’t bear the fact that it was me who hurt one.

How do you deal with this immense guilt?
